Castle Hill Conservation Area is an awesome place for a morning stroll. Good photo compositions can be found all over the place. We didn't get great light that day but at least some moody clouds.
Frigid mountain rainwater? Any bath is worthwhile for a dirtbag cyclist. Stopping at Castle Hill was a must on our trip over Arthur's Pass. Wandering through the otherworldly rock formations made us feel like little kids - you just can't help but play hide and go seek through the tunnels or climb to the highest peak. #adventure #castlehill #bikepacking #southisland #dirtbagcyclist
Misty lake
Castle Hill is an incredible maze of limestone boulders in Arthur's Pass on New Zealand's South Island. It's representative of the dreamlike/fantasy landscapes one can find in New Zealand AKA Lord of the Rings country. Castle Hill serves as a perfect location for bouldering, climbing, having a picnic and/or playing hide and seek. #Green

Everything exceeded our expectations- the room, the view, the food. We had a delicious dinner and the general area was cozy and welcoming. The room was clean, cozy and had a wonderful view.

This was the perfect place to stay over while heading through Arthur’s Pass! It had incredible views and Barrie was a fantastic host. Would highly recommend if you need somewhere to stop over while going through Arthur’s Pass.

Spacious house in a great location
Had a great stay in Castle Hill at this bach. We traveled with a group of eight and we had plenty of living space and amenities for our group. Clean, modern house with good heating system and great indoor-outdoor flow. Close to all the community amenities in the village too. Highly recommended

Arthur's Pass is one of the few roads connecting the East and West sides of New Zealand's South Island. The road winds it way through a mountain pass with beautiful and dramatic scenery. The area is great for outdoor activities such as hiking, or spotting waterfalls and the Kea (=alpine parrots).
