The room was spacious and clean. We enjoyed having a full open kitchen and screened balcony sitting area. the resort is wildly understaffed. There was only one employee at check-in who needed to take each family checking in to their rooms, and then come back to the front desk to assist the next.
Yachtsman food was good, but it took 3 hours for lunch one day (an appetizer and two thin crust pizzas). Exorbitant time to just get drinks. Lunch and dinner were tasty with decent portions. Breakfast was awful...definitely not worth the money. Our legs also got eaten alive the first night at dinner. We sat at one of the outdoor tables just under the overhang. I dont know if the bites were from mosquitos or sand fleas.
The staff at the resort as a whole was helpful and friendly. I would not even call the "pool" a pool. It was a dark and buggy lazy river without the flow pushing you around. Most people only used the beach, which was lovely.
