Well appointed OBX beach house with access to community pool and tennis courts

  • Everyone in the family will enjoy Sound Siesta, a five bedroom, three and a half bathroom home in the luxurious Corolla community of Monteray Shores. Take a five minute drive south to enjoy browsing local shops at the Timbuck II Shopping Village. There are multiple beach accesses nearby, including Bonito Drive public beach access less than a mile away. Sound Siesta is pet-friendly (dogs only), so bring along your furry family member, too. The whole family will enjoy nights in with a game at the dining room table. Stay entertained with all the amenities offered by the Monteray Shores community.

    Monteray Shores has a community recreation room, community pool, tennis courts, children's playground, boat launch and a lovely dock - perfect for taking photos at sunset. Nearby beach accesses will lead you to uncrowded Corolla beaches with lifeguards. This home has excellent access to the sound via Monteray Shores amenities, including the Marsh Landing Pier less than a quarter mile away. If you can’t travel with your equipment, don’t worry! The community of Monteray Shores rents windsurfing equipment.

    Sound Siesta is pet-friendly. There is an additional charge of $195 plus tax for guests bringing pets, which will be added and collected after booking.

    Layout:

    Ground Level: Laundry area, dry entry.

    Mid Level: Entry to house, queen bedroom, Jack and Jill bath, twin bedroom with deck access, queen and twin bedroom with deck access, pyramid bunk bedroom with deck access, full hall bath with a tub/shower.

    Top Level: Large living area with cathedral ceilings, a flat screen TV/DVD player, gas fireplace (usage Nov.-Apr.), captain's watch with a wet bar, dining area for 8, kitchen with island and extra bar stool seating, sliding door to the screened porch as well as a sliding door to the deck, king en suite with a jetted tub and separate shower stall.

Property is not as described. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOUSE. Property is totally misrepresented. Peeling paint in bathrooms, molded ceiling grids, dirty and musty carpets, water dripping from ceiling vents, dirty living room couch with broken springs, nailed in kitchen drawer. 2nd floor (where the 4 bedrooms are ) is very musty. We had no towels and missing beddings at arrival. Found dirty towel and garbage in bathroom. Dishwasher not ran. Outdoor area not inviting, lots molded and broken screens .I called Sun Realty management, cleaning was supposed to be refunded, not done as this review date.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Absolutely horrible experience with this property and Sun Realty, the property’s management company. The AC was out the first day we were there. IT WAS OFF on the lower floor on a 100 degree weekend and barely working upstairs. We tried to trouble shoot, had no luck. Of course no emergency number was apparent. Once I finally got in contact with someone at the company they were very nice but couldn’t send a repair person out until the next afternoon. The house was unbearably hot but since it was the 4th weekend there was no where else we could go. The house was extremely out of date with disgusting ceiling stains and dirt and broken/worn out furniture. It is clear the photos not recent. The only good side was the hot tub and community pool (closed at 6pm though). The cleaning crew left the bare minimum of toilet paper, trash bags, dish pods, etc (not even enough for all bathrooms) although they had said that would all be supplied. Of course everything was the cheapest possible in quality. To top it all off, when I asked to speak to a manager about these concerns they asked me to send them pictures, said they were going to call me back that day. I of course did not hear back. Called again later in the day and they were “in a manager meeting.”
