Beautifully decorated and spacious home with ocean views in our community of Whalehead close to the historic Currituck Beach Lighthouse, village shops and adventure park. This home has over 5700 sq. feet of luxury living featuring a top-level with cathedral ceilings, gleaming hardwood floors and a large, open floor plan with kitchen/dining/living space. This beach getaway features eight large king-master en-suites, and one double pyramid bunk room with private bath, and it's all just 300 yards to the beach! Take in the fresh air and views of the Atlantic Ocean while enjoying the sea breezes as you relax on the many decks of "Summer Winds."

This lovely vacation home will allow you to relax in your personal Master Suite with outdoor sitting area and spend quality time with your family and friends in the spacious living/dining, rec and media rooms. Enjoy countless hours in the 16 X 32 private pool (heated pool option), or play volleyball, watch a movie in the media room, and unwind in the hot tub.

You are just a short walk away from the big blue sea and white sand of Whalehead Beach or a short drive to the Currituck Club for a championship round of golf! If you're not a golf pro, enjoy a round of putt-putt golf at the nearby Corolla Golf Adventures, or even test your driving at Bumper Cars. We had a wonderful stay at this beach house! The elevator and close proximity to the beach made it so easy to get around with kids and gear. The home itself was very spacious, with large bedrooms, a great kitchen stocked with plenty of pots, pans, and dishes, and a back deck layout perfect for relaxing. We especially enjoyed the larger pool, and the quick response when the grill ran out of propane was much appreciated. Having sheets and towels provided was also a big convenience.A few small things could make the stay even better: a larger dining table would be ideal for big family dinners (we had to push a few together to make it work), potholders were missing from the kitchen, and the pool does get shaded in the afternoon. It would also be nice to have a bit more silverware and more hooks around the pool area for wet towels.Overall, this was a great house for a family beach getaway—comfortable, spacious, and so close to the ocean. We’d definitely recommend it and would stay again!

Amazing property!

5 families stayed here and enjoyed every minute of our vacation. We had 12 kids, ages 3-10 and the house had plenty of space & appliance’s to meet their needs (high chairs, packNplays, games, puzzles, etc). The bedrooms are all spacious & well furnished. The pool was perfect and well positioned for our group. Short easy walk to the beach as well. Loved the small town located just 1.5 miles away with the best coffee shop & beer garden. 10/10 for our group!

2022 Family Vacation

The house was really good in that it had an elevator and 8 master suites. Plenty of room for all 15 of us. The grill outside was in very rough and dirty shape. We had a lot of issues with ants in the kitchen and some plumbing issues. Several of the doors leading outside either didn't lock or were difficult to open.

Not as expected

The bathrooms were not cleaned well, the pool was dirty, the grill was rancid and there were broken chairs and pool floats thrown over the fence, the sewage pipe was backed up for 3 days - we couldn't use downstairs bathrooms! The property manager was hard to contact and just made excuses. The cleaning fee was returned, but not enough for the trouble we endured. I wouldn't rent off these people again! Keep looking!

Great stay with friends and family

We had a wonderful week at summer winds! We had 10 adults and 10 kids ages 1-5. Plenty of space- bathroom for each bedroom was so nice, and the additional playroom/media room was a great spot for the kids to play and hang out. The pool and hot tub were used daily and the elevator made trips with groceries/multiple babies super easy! The short walk to the beach was super nice as well! Our kiddos never complained about the walk. Only “negatives”: check in process. Our house was done being cleaned by 3pm. We were local prior to check in so we saw the cleaners as they were leaving. We never heard from the property manager that we could check in- which pushes back out check in until 6pm. With so many tired little kids it would have been much nicer if we were contacted once the property was cleaned. That was a waste of 3 hours for us. I even tried to reach out to the company and never received communication back. The house was relatively clean when we checked in. I don’t think the cleaners did a great job with vacuuming or cleaning the walls. We know OBX is buggy but there was dead spiders/bugs on the walls which weren’t even attempted to be wiped down. We also vacuumed the downstairs level as soon as we checked in. Additionally the cleanliness of the sheets- we found towels (clearly from a child peeing in the bed) under mattress pads. So I guess they don’t change mattress pads which is gross. Overall the house was great, I would suggest better communication with check in time and better cleaning between parties.

Family reunion

House was large enough for 12 adults and 8 children. Decking outside was worn (splinters and some sections had nails sticking up and one board was even coming up). Check the propane level as if it is low it take a LONG time to boil water on the stove. Short walk to the beach. Loved having the pool available. Did not use the hot tub. Would suggest a couple more chairs for the tables so you could seat 12 between the 2 tables. Quiet street and easy for the children to ride a bike on it. Overall, everyone was pleased.
