Casa Italica - a quaint getaway in rural Italy

Charming townhouse in the quaint but centrally located village of Corfinio, one of the oldest villages in Abruzzo and a short 1 hr 45 min drive from Rome! Come to explore the beaches, mountains, ski resorts, vineyards, and Italian charm that the Abruzzo region has to offer while staying in your home away from home, fully appointed with everything you could need for your holiday. The space
You will find the following on each floor of Casa Italica:

Floor 0 includes the entry foyer, a ½ bath, kitchen, washing machine (in the kitchen), dining, and access to the back/side door.

Floor 1 includes the living room/sitting area, which doubles as an extra bedroom if needed (the sofa extends to sleep 2).

Floor 2 includes the master bedroom, smaller bedroom, and full bath.

Backyard/Garden (Update: December 2022) - we are currently planning for some backyard/garden improvements in time for Summer 2023, so for now, the backyard is not usable by guests.

Guest access
Guests will be able to access most parts of the house with the exception of the cellar (which is locked) and the backyard (which is currently undergoing some improvements and not available for use until Summer 2023).

Other things to note

Parking

Parking on Via Italica is restricted to those with residential permits. While unloading luggage, groceries, etc., you may pull your car up directly across from the house and unload. You can then pull around to the main road (Strada Statale 5, which runs directly behind our house) and park your car there easily.

Washing Machine

Please feel free to wash during your stay. Laundry detergent and fabric softener can be found under the sink cabinet. If you are not familiar with European washing machines - place the detergent (liquid please) in the largest slot, and fabric softener can go in one of the smaller slots. We have the machine set on Option 14 at 50 degrees and 700 spin speed, which does a quick wash cycle (some of the other cycles can take several hours, so be aware). If your clothes still feel water-logged at the end of the cycle, turn the dial to the spin setting and run it through spin only one more time to remove any excess water.

TV

On floor 1 you will find a wall mounted TV and 2 remotes; one remote if for the TV, and the other is for the Amazon Fire Stick. You can use the Fire Stick to login to your personal Amazon Prime account or other streaming services (Netflix, etc.). For US guests - please note some of your services may not work here in Italy (e.g. HBO Max).

Please also feel free to use the XBox, DVDs, etc.

Trash

Please refer to the guidebook in the dining room regarding trash separation (Corfinio is a "green" village, so we have various trash containers to separate different forms of rubbish and recycling)

Note (particularly for US guests), there is no dryer. In the dining room, you will find a large drying rack to use. We recommend you plan accordingly - if you need to wash something to use the next day, I would suggest washing it a day before you need it.
