Lakefront cabin on legendary Lake Vermilion along scenic Wakemup Narrows
Wolfe’s Den Cabin is a classic Up North family lake cabin built by our father and uncle and completed in the 1970s as a place for fishing trips, family vacations, campfire evenings and making lifelong memories on the lake. We’re honored to continue sharing that family legacy with guests looking for an authentic Northwoods experience.
The cabin retains much of its original rustic charm including pine board walls and flooring, a built-in fireplace, custom-built bunk beds and double bed and themed Northwoods décor throughout the cabin.
Spend your days fishing, boating, paddling, swimming, wildlife watching, exploring nearby islands or just relaxing on the guest deck overlooking the lake. Evenings often bring spectacular sunsets, star-filled skies, loon calls, campfires and — on the right nights — even views of the Northern Lights from the deck or dock.
The property is visited by more than 100 bird species throughout the season and offers opportunities for birdwatching, wildlife photography and viewing fall colors.
This air-conditioned pet-friendly cabin sleeps up to 4 guests and is designed for memorable lake vacations, fishing trips, outdoor fun and cozy family time.

Pet-Friendly Northwoods Getaway
Wolfe’s Den is proudly pet-friendly. The property’s lakefront setting, wooded surroundings, nearby roads and outdoor spaces make it a great fit for guests traveling with pets who enjoy exploring the outdoors with their families.
Guests may occasionally encounter our very friendly Mini-Goldendoodle Ollie while we are walking him on the shared property. He loves meeting both people and fellow dogs.
Because this is a wildlife-active Northwoods setting, we recommend keeping pets leashed when outside after dark. Guests may occasionally encounter wildlife at or near the property including deer, chipmunks, rabbits, loons and other waterfowl and the occasional raccoon, fox, beaver, mink, black bear or other native Northwoods animals common to the area.
Fishing, Wildlife & Outdoor Fun
Wolfe’s Den is especially well-suited for anglers, wildlife lovers, birdwatchers and guests who enjoy spending time outdoors.

• Fish-cleaning station with running water inside the boathouse
• Fish-gut freezer
• Nearby public boat launches within minutes
Guests also have access to a large collection of included outdoor and lake amenities:
• Kayaks

Shared Property & Northwoods Setting
The Wolfe’s Den Cabin is located on a shared lakefront property where the owners have a separate neighboring cabin and are often on-site during guest stays. Guests have their own private cabin, deck, dock, firepit and parking area while certain outdoor areas and the boathouse are shared-access spaces.
The cabin is also located near other seasonal cabins and a nearby resort. Most stays are very enjoyable and relaxing, but guests should understand that occasional daytime lake activity including children playing at nearby waterfront areas can sometimes occur during portions of the summer season.
Because this is a rural Northwoods lake destination, guests should also expect normal outdoor realities such as insects, changing weather conditions, uneven terrain, rare utility interruptions or limited cellular service in some areas.
The property receives periodic exterior pest-control treatments during the season to help reduce mosquitoes, flies, gnats, ants and ticks. Guests will be notified in advance if treatment timing overlaps their stay.
Important Things To Know Before Booking
• Maximum occupancy is strictly limited to 4 overnight guests per county licensing.
• Up to 4 daytime visitors are permitted with advance disclosure to hosts.
• Primary renter must be at least 21 years old and must be part of the staying guest group throughout the reservation.
• Quiet hours are enforced due to the shared-property setup and neighboring cabins.
• Smoking/vaping is not permitted inside the cabin or boathouse.
• Guests must comply with all local/state fire restrictions and red flag warnings regarding campfires and fireplace use.
• Minnesota fishing licenses and boating laws apply.
• A rental agreement must be acknowledged as part of the booking process.
• Because many guests reserve favorite weeks far in advance, the property maintains a firm cancellation policy. Guests concerned about unexpected travel interruptions are strongly encouraged to purchase trip insurance.
• The cabin doesn’t charge a separate cleaning fee. To help us continue offering this benefit, guests are asked to complete a short checklist before leaving that includes a few basic cleanup tasks.
