We recently stayed at this hotel after traveling from Wisconsin with our young children. Before booking, I specifically called to confirm they had connecting rooms available. I was told that connecting rooms were possible and that we would be in rooms 601 and 602. However, upon arrival, we were assigned rooms 601 and 603. While they were side by side, they were not actually connected, which was disappointing given that this was an important factor in choosing this hotel.
Check-in took over 20 minutes, and one of our rooms was still being cleaned when we were checking in. Despite this delay, our request for a later checkout was denied.
We were also not informed that the hotel was undergoing renovations. The downstairs hallways looked like a construction zone, and the main lobby had raw concrete floors. It would have been nice to know this ahead of time.
The kids did enjoy the pool, which was a highlight for them. However, there was a very strong chlorine smell that left my eyes burning and made my stomach turn.
The complimentary breakfast both smelled and tasted amazing, but unfortunately it was set up in the lobby area where construction was taking place, which made the experience less enjoyable.
In the end, housekeeping did not arrive right at checkout time, so we weren’t rushed out the door. Overall, there were some positives, but the lack of communication about the renovations and the room situation made the stay more stressful than expected.
