IMPORTANT TO READ THE ENTIRETY OF THIS AND THE HOUSE RULES PRIOR TO BOOKING:

Welcome to Muletown USA - "The Dimple of the Universe"! We invite you to come stay at The DW which is located in the northeast corner of Maury County. For now, still considered to be in the country, where you will be far enough away to escape most of the congestion, yet still having easy access to main roads and interstates to get to all the great nearby towns and events.

THE PROPERTY: Nothing fancy here. The DW is not historic, doesn't have spectacular views and isn't uniquely furnished. However, we believe you will be pleasantly surprised when you enter this spacious, clean, quiet home, which has been completely renovated and furnished for your comfort.

We have a spacious yard... not fenced... can't afford it. But you might see deer or turkeys walking through, or hear the owls in the trees or the coyotes off in the distance. You might even see or hear the blue bird at the front door who loves his reflection in the window and you'll probably find the neighbor's cat sleeping on the back porch! Ugh.

BOOKING AND GUESTS: ***Make sure to enter the appropriate number of individuals and pets at the time of your booking.*** Even though our home can accommodate up to six (6) people, our nightly rate is based on a 1-person occupancy, because we do not feel that one (1) guest should pay the same amount as six (6) guests. So for more than one guest, there is an extra guest fee added to the nightly rate.

We are not trying to mislead anyone. In fact, with all the fees and taxes that you have to pay, we felt this is the best solution to help keep it reasonable. We hope you agree and will book with us!

Persons that are not listed on the reservation ARE NOT permitted on the property at any time, unless approved in advance by Host. This applies to day visitors or overnight visitors and will be cause for immediate removal and additional fees.

NO parties or events allowed are allowed on the property at any time.

PETS: Upon paying the pet fee, we will allow two (2) dogs weighing less than 20 pounds each, must be housebroken, free of fleas, and crated when left alone. Pet kennels are available upon request. NO PETS ARE allowed on the beds or furniture. Must be in control of the owner at all times and must be leashed or tethered.

COMMUNICATION: Feel free to ask us any questions prior to booking or during your stay.

GUEST INFORMATION: At the time you book, we request that you let us know where are travelling from, a brief reason for your visit (i.e. wedding, etc.), and the first name and ages of all staying on the property. Additionally, if travelling with pet(s) please provide breed and weight. Thank you.

  • Spring Hill was the prelude to the Battle of Franklin. On the night of Nov 28, 1864, Gen. John Bell Hood’s Army of Tennessee marched toward Spring Hill to get astride Maj. Gen. John M. Schofield’s Union army’s life line. Cavalry skirmishing between Brig. Gen. James H. Wilson’s Union cavalry and Maj. Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest’s Confederate troopers continued throughout the day as the Confederates advanced. On Nov 29, Hood’s infantry crossed Duck River and converged on Spring Hill. In the meantime, Maj. Gen. Schofield reinforced the troops holding the crossroads at Spring Hill. In late afternoon, the Federals repulsed a piecemeal Confederate infantry attack. During the night, the rest of Schofield’s command passed from Columbia through Spring Hill to Franklin. This was, perhaps, Hood’s best chance to isolate and defeat the Union army. The engagement has been described as “one of the most controversial non-fighting events of the entire war."

DW is nice & quiet

The DW is a good, quiet place to stay. Glad they had board games. Had not played in years. Michelle & Jon contacted us when bad weather was headed our way. Thank you for that! Recommended staying here if you are in the Columbia/Spring Hill area.

Home away from home

We had such a lovely stay at the DW. The house is located outside of town on a pretty lot with lots or room between neighbors. It was easy to check in with a lockbox. You can tell that there was so much thought, consideration, and heart put into designing this rental. As soon as you walk in there is a dog feeding/water station. As you enter the kitchen there is a small table with card games and the kitchen is spacious with a large island. We were greeted with 2 Moonpies and RC and a bone for our dog (very nice touch). This house was uber clean and very well-maintained. There was a nice coffee bar too with a coffee maker and fun selection of mugs and coffee/creamer. We were so grateful that there were some suppliers available because we had no time to stop at the store (there for just the weekend to meet our new grandson) as you enter the back of the house there is a desk with a binder that had a ton of information about Columbia and was so interesting to read and provided some helpful tips. The master bathroom had a huge vanity right in front of the window that made get ready so easy. It was so quiet and the beds were comfortable. We slept so well. We would absolutely stay here again.NOTE; There were outdoor security cameras as noted in the description and we actually preferred that since we had our dog with us and in the event we left without him, we wanted to know he was safe (its why we don't use a hotel when traveling with a dog).

Extremely nice accommodation

My wife and I use VRBO frequently and this ranks at top top of the list for most welcoming and comfortable locations. Tastefully decorated, very clean and comfortable. Loved the coffee bar!Would highly recommend for anyone traveling in this area.

So many nice little extras. There was so much room!!The coffee bar, RC Cola and Moon Pies were a nice treat. Our pup enjoyed his treat also.Equipped with quality items to cook and eat with, not from the dollar store. Michelle was very nice and helpful. Spacious, Clean and Quiet

We enjoyed our stay at DW and plan to return. It is quiet secluded but safe and not all that far from the freeway to get to anywhere you're going. It is very spacious. Had minor issue with wasps by the back door when we arrived but host was there in less than 10 minutes, sprayed and was taken care of. We appreciate them being pet friendly and the motion sensing lights out back made taking the dog out after dark much easier than using a flash light. They did a great job of putting a book together of the history of the area, things to do and see, brochures and maps. It was very helpful. Well stocked with dishes, coffee, games, and other normal stuff you dont think about. We will return.

Great place to stay with the family

We were in town for a wedding, and this place was a good central location to meet up with others. It's easy to find, clean, and homie. We also took our two dogs with us, and they have a great yard for them to run around in. However, there isn't a fenced-in backyard, so consider your dog's limits.

If I could give the DW a 100 star review I would! This place blew us away! We moved from out of state and were in an emergency situation to find a place fast and the DW was our home for 2 weeks! The owners are absolutely amazing and even gave me husband a ride to the airport in Nashville! You cannot go wrong staying at this place. It's clean. They allow pets. You will love it!

Family Getaway

The DW property was perfect. The decor was so nice. I loved the map on the wall with the pins. There were so many extras all throughout the home that made if feel just like our own home. It was set back off the road and quite. We saw deer in the backyard. Michelle was kind and easy to talk to. We will definitely stay here again.
