Perfect Staycation
We wanted to get out of Denver for a minute and loved the idea of a caboose. Had the best night, not only at the room, but the town too. Had dinner at the CO wine bar and walked back to the house. Soaked in the jacuzzi under the stars. The shower and tub are really big and the bed super comfy. Loved our time there.

Surprise Christmas Present
My name is Randi and my husband, Brian, is a huge train nerd. For his Christmas present, I secretly booked him a stay at the caboose and he was absolutely thrilled! The caboose is adorable and we spent some time in the hot tub outside looking up at the stars in the evening. We loved our stay and plan to come back. Communication was great with the owners and now Brian wants a caboose of his own, lol

New Experience
Staying in a caboose is a really cool experience. The soaker tub was a bit awkward with the plumbing sticking straight out of the middle of the tub. Shower was great. The quarters are definitely tight, but we loved the unique feel of the caboose.

Perfect spot in the mountains
We had a great time staying at the caboose in Cascade. The location was perfect for visits west to Cripple Creek and south to all the major attractions - Pike’s Peak, Garden of the Gods, Royal Gorge, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and so much more. Minutes and easy drive to Manitou Springs where there is a great little town. Connie our hostess was simply awesome and responded very quickly to our questions. The caboose was very comfortable for two people, had the basic necessities and the hot tub on the deck was used every night. Great place to stay for all the local sights and activities

Wedding Anniversary Getaway!
We absolutely loved staying at Connie's Caboose VRBO in Cascade! It was in prime location between all the activities, restaurants and shopping in Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs. Once you're done hiking or site seeing for the day, the hot tub and indoor soak bathtub were wonderful to come back to. Will we definitely be coming back as there is still so much to do there, even spending five full days in the area.

Perfect Romantic Birthday Weekend!
We had an amazing time for my husband’s birthday weekend. 💕 The caboose was just as described with a few added touches that made it feel like home. Communication prior to booking was very fast and Connie answered all my questions honestly. The caboose was perfect for 2 for a romantic getaway and we really enjoyed seeing the pictures of its history. I loved having somewhere to stay that is so close to Manitou Springs (less than 10 min to downtown), Colorado Springs, and is on the same route as Pike’s Peak. I wish we could’ve stayed longer! If you’re looking for a phenomenal place to eat while staying here, Wines of Colorado was AMAZING and is in walking distance if you don’t feel like driving. As mentioned, WiFi is a little spotty which wasn’t an issue for us. I do want to note that if you have AT&T and 5g phones, you shouldn’t have any issue with service. Thank you again for inviting us into your space. We truly can’t wait to come back!

This property came highly recommended by a coworker. I mentioned to my family that it sounded like a great recharging getaway and they gave me a 3 night stay for my birthday. Amazing!
We were simply amazed by the caboose. It is set in the middle of the most beautiful valley. I can't explain how beautiful the setting is. The caboose was clean and had just what we needed. It is decorated with amazing furniture and designs. Warning that the steps to get into it are a little troublesome (steep and small). We were fine with them, but someone else might need to know that. Didn't realize there was not air conditioning, but honestly, we never needed it. The mountain air was fresh and perfect. I would definately recommend this spot and will definately pick it again if I find myself back in the area.

Not what we were looking for
Heads up for anyone wanting to rent this property- the owners fly several Blue Lives Matter flags on the property and are very Evangelical Christian (they include requests for donations in their welcoming info for their homeless ministry) so if that’s something that would put you off, steer clear. It certainly would have made us skip this property had we known. The caboose itself was cleanish and comfortable, love the little bathroom too. Decorated like a 90’s craft store (in a good way!). Lots of towels. The host was unresponsive to messages on VRBO, and part of the check in message was a request for a credit card, so i had to dig up a phone number on their website to make sure they didn’t need anything additional from us. The owner who answered the phone was pretty unfriendly and seemed annoyed that I was bothering her. No wifi ( they claim it’s because of the mountains but that really doesn’t make sense). Also pillows by MyPillow, so again, these folks aren’t really trying to keep their political leanings secret. Hot tub was great, and the trees were lovely. We left a day early. This is not a negative review, just a warning to people who aren’t looking to financially support beliefs like these. This review may actually attract more of the kind of people they seem to be wanting to attract, and less people like us, so win-win.

Yes, we do support all first responders and that includes our police. I also offer a discount, as indicated on the website, to first responders and military. The info in the guest book does not request donations, it simply tells our guests a little bit about us and if anyone would like to support the homeless ministry, please feel free. You gave us 2 stars because we are Christians? That seems a little bias on your side, as I don't ask any of my guests their beliefs and certainly don't push ours on our guests. The caboose is lovely and very comfortable, as indicated by all my other reviews. I certainly would not respond to a call with a "you're bothering me" attitude and I believe you said you were already at the caboose, and I said it was open and let me know if you need anything. I am glad you enjoyed some of your stay.

No cell service
The caboose was exactly as pictured. I like the location in regards to convenience to Monitou Springs/ Colorado Springs. The restaurant at the end of the streeet was awesome and we dined there regularly. I was not prepared for the lack of internet and cell service. I didn't read about the lack of cell service in any of the reviews I read. We had to go to town in order to reach the owner by text or cell. We had a teen-age daughter in Europe for the first time and it was imperative we were available to her. We also own businesses and you can never truly get away from that. We woke up every morning and had to get to town to get cell service so we could make the calls and texts and emails that needed to be handled. We left a day early and went to Colorado Springs becuase the stress of not having cell service was too much for us.

Julie, Sorry for the lack of WiFi service up here. I have it in my information section that I can't guarantee connection due to the mountains. Unfortunately, we didn't have internet one day last week either, so not sure if there was a problem with Xfinity service or just due to the cloud cover. Sometimes if you step outside and connect it works, and Verizon is the only phone service that works up here. So glad you enjoyed your time here and liked The Wines of Colorado restaurant!

Pictures don't do it justice, very nice!
I was just looking for something unique in the Manitou Incline area and didn't expect much from the pictures. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The caboose is nice and comfortable, decorated nicely, comfy bed... There is a hot tub on the deck of the caboose. Epsom salt by the claw for tub. An electric fireplace. Great location... I almost want to rate it badly so I can keep this gem to myself, but honestly would recommend the caboose to anyone.

Anniversary Getaway
We absolutely loved staying at the Caboose! It was unique and fell right on theme with our wedding as we took our photos on a train car just like this 1 year ago! I absolutely would stay here again - everything was beautiful! Just two thoughts for improvement: 1) The hot tub was amazing but it seems someone got heavy handed with the treatment chemicals - it got to the point where our eyes were burning and watering when the jets were on and once we got out, our skin was so dry that it literally hurt. It was enough to turn a relaxing soak into a regrettable choice. 2) I would recommend having some sort of land line. As promised, cell service is nearly non-existent and we never could actually get the internet to work. I thought it was nice that you had your contact information posted and to call 911 for any emergencies.....but without cell service and internet how does one do that? We couldn't get a hold of you if we tried! Other than that, everything was absolutely perfect. we were comfortable and this was in a fantastic location. I would recommend Stuft Food Emporium in Woodland Park for dinner. Wines of Colorado is amazing and Pikes Peak Winery next door was lovely. Thank you for a lovely weekend for us to celebrate our 1st year of marriage!
