This was a great house that is perfect for friends/family of any size. The island it’s located on is a friendly community and is the perfect getaway to escape from the real world. The restaurant at the marina is fantastic and the local store right before you get on the island has everything you could need if you forgot something. Very convenient all around. The golf course in the middle of the island is super nice to have and the golf cart to cruise around the island is a huge plus as well!

Nice place. Loved sitting out on the lower deck looking at the lake. If you are looking for lake access, this isn't it. Rent a boat for a day or go to Pokagon State Park and use their beach. We lost our long-term rental on Lake James when the owner sold it. In the past, every summer we would drive over the border to play golf on Iyopawa and we knew the area. This house backs up to the 2nd tee. We picked this place based on the golf course. We have our favorite local restaurants. We liked to walk around the golf course for exercise. The location is about equidistant from our two kids. Each kid is about 60 miles away. The downside is the stairs. I'm 80 years old with balance issues and don't like the stairs.Overall we enjoyed the stay and have signed up for next year.

Great place with a great view!

The house was cozy and welcoming. It met all of our needs for a weekend stay as a family. We appreciated the efforts made to meet the needs of all types of guests, since we had two small children (3 and under) with us. We all enjoyed waking up with a beautiful view of Coldwater Lake.

Island House

This rental was perfect for our needs in every way. We had family members coming to this area for a Memorial service. The beautiful setting and the design of this house made it the so nice for family to gather and reminisce. The front deck and living room offers stunning views of Coldwater lake. We greatly enjoyed the back patio area too and were able to recall pleasant memories in front of a camp fire due to the large fire pit. We toured the island and were rewarded with a gorgeous sunset. This house and property could not be more accommodating for anyone from families to couples. We are already planning to rebook!

Retired Ladies’ Getaway

We had a wonderful time! House was well-appointed and very clean. Beds were SO comfortable! Only potential issue is the living space was up a full flight of stairs. Our group was ages 68-80 and even though we are all mobile and in good health, we couldn’t help notice there didn’t seem to be any mention of this in the property description. Could be a problem for less mobile folks.

Great little place.

We had a great time during our stay. It was a great location for us and the kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. The owners were easy to communicate with ahead of time when we had questions. A few more hangers and places to unpack clothing would be helpful, but overall things were great. Beds were comfortable and all of us slept well!

Great stay for some well needed family time away!

This home was the perfect spot to spend some quality family time together which was much overdue! Lots of space with the layout of the beds and bedrooms and lots of room to share family meals as well as play cards and games and have a constant puzzle going on that we worked on all weekend as well! Excellent communication which was so appreciated - couple of issues leading up to the vacation and on check in were handled immediately and couldn't have asked for more gracious hosts - just tremendous communication all around. Enjoyed the outdoor area as well as the proximity to a fun golf course and the golf cart and paddle boards were a hit with the whole family! Would definitely recommend to others!

Family vacation

Very nice property in a great location. We enjoyed biking around the island and taking golf cart rides. The listing says beach access for swimming but there is no beach access. That is the only reason I am not giving 5 stars for the property. It was nice to have all the things needed for a toddler in the house - baby gate, high chair, outdoor toys, etc.

Wonderful Stay

This property is great, it has great space, things for the little ones to do, yard games, and a great location to the lake and golf course. The stay would be even better once the details are worked out to have better access to the lake. The use of the pier would be amazing and the ability to use the little beach area would be nice. However, our family rented a pontoon to access the sand bar, which was amazing! This house has a foam "lily pad" that we took with us on the pontoon and the kids loved it at the sandbar. Overall, this was a great experience and the property owners are great to communicate with and are quick to respond to any questions!

Fantastic Time

Place was as described. Clean, inviting house. Host was easy to deal with and got back with us quickly about a slight issue that occurred!! I would highly recommend staying here. Only downside is across the road from the lake but beautiful view!!

Loving Iyopawa Island

We absolutely loved everything about our stay on Iyopawa Island. Lived in Michigan all my life, never been to Coldwater or heard of Iyopawa. EVERY home on this island was pristine, beautiful and well cared for. Family friendly and very quiet as noted. Can't tell you how many times we walked, ran and golf carted around the island. Saw something different every time. Golf course was perfect course, plenty of tee times, fast greens and well kept. We rented pontoon from Coldwater Lake Marina. Great day on the quite shallow lake, perfect for the little ones to play in the water. The home was perfect for our family both inside and out. Besides my hubby and I we had our three daughters with their spouses and 2 little grandchildren. Plenty of bed spaces and a whole other living area under the main floor that made a great play area for the kids...so cozy. Perfect accommodations and quick responses to my questions. We made many, many family memories and made full use of the wood deck and fire pit.

Weekend getaway

We had a great weekend. We enjoyed this beautiful home. Relaxed in the backyard, hung out at the beach and enjoyed all the comforts of home without being home. Took walks around the island and rides on the golf cart. So enjoyable!!!!
