Our stay involved multiple unresolved issues affecting cleanliness, safety, and basic habitability.At arrival, the hot tub appeared unclean, with visible debris and an abnormal odor. We cleaned out the debris and reasonably assumed the odor must be normal/safe. During use, two guests sustained 2nd degree burns consistent with chemical imbalance and/or jet-related exposure, raising serious safety concerns. We could not use the hot tub again. The property was not properly cleaned prior to check-in. We found clothing from prior guests in closets, bedrooms, and under beds and used toiletries remaining in the showers. Gingerbread house food items from previous guests were still present in the living area.Additional issues included a broken coffee pot, wet downstairs comforters on the first night, one towel per guest – no hand towels or wash cloths, 2 half used (4 total rolls) of toilet paper for eight guests staying one week, and repeated electrical issues where the microwave tripped the circuit breaker daily.Concerns were communicated during and after the stay; however, as of this review, no response or compensation has been provided.We have stayed at many VRBO properties and understand that occasional minor issues can occur. However, the number, severity, and nature of the cleanliness, maintenance, and safety concerns, combined with the lack of response from management, resulted in a stay that did not meet reasonable expectations for a short-term rental.
