Close to town, the college and a beautiful serene surrounding

Outstanding privacy given its close proximity to downtown and UVA wise this beautiful ranch, 3 BR, 2 Bath house is all your large family needs for a wonderful stay in the lush Virginia countryside. Large living room for gatherings, piano, TV, internet for entertainment. A comfortable front deck and covered porch provide outdoor dinning opportunities or just time to view and relax among the deer, meditation pond and peaceful views of an endless meadow without close neighbors. As per popular request we have added a large BBQ, an outside firepit, basketball goal with balls and other outdoor activities including corn hole and a fantastic tree swing.

We have a three night minimum stay but would possibly consider two nights to previous renters or under special circumstances. Its a large property to be having folks only staying two nights. Please reach out if you would like to review.

We can support special events as long as the overnight guest count is not exceeded. Special events will require a bit more cleaning fee and a few basic rules to follow, please reach out to discuss.

Property was quiet, no noise from neighbors. A bit tricky to find but solid directions h to guide you to it. Communication was excellent. Denver was great to respond with any questions. House and amenities were definitely dated. 5 adults stayed here and everyone agreed it was time for new mattresses. Sleeping is a big deal when staying away from home so this is my main point for making it 4 stars. We all woke up with our backs bothering us in the morning.

The property is ideally located to downtown Wise and not a far drive to scenic mountain trails. The interior layout is nice as well. Owners provide an adequate amount of linens and have done a lot to make you feel at home. Additionally, owners were quick to respond to questions I had prior to our arrival. So I felt good about our upcoming stay. However, overall I was disappointed in the property. It was not very clean. The first night, we found the dining table sticky and table mats had old dried up rice on them. The microwave had a food explosion splatter on the inside. My daughter found an UVA wrapped chocolate chip commencement cookie behind a couch cushion. (Luckily it was from 2025.) Also, one of the “clean”towels had a woman’s make up smeared all over it. I also recommend updating the living room furniture. As charming as it is the current furniture does not comfortably accommodate a family sitting around it.Would I recommend this property? Tough call. It has many charming aspects to it and the location is great but the cleanliness kind of kills it for me.

Perfect Location, Wonderful Space

We were at this home for a week, and the size of the property allowed us to spread out and have plenty of room for everyone. The deer in the yard, the amazing star gazing, and the mountain bluebirds made this a mountain top retreat really special. This was our second trip to the property, and we were so relieved it was available for our trip!

It was mostly nice. We had a hard time adjusting the heat. But after I figured out how to turn the fan on automatic it was okay. The bed in the master bedroom was terrible. Everyone likes sleep number bed nowadays. I never slept a wink while I was there. The refrigerator had been written up before we got there and still had not been fixed. It freezes everything you put in it. Unacceptable. The yard was partially mowed. Very high grass where you stepped out of the car. One rail on the porch deck was very loose and dangerous to lean against. And let's not forget the spider on the bed in the bedroom and all of the spider webs hanging from the eaves around the house. Terminix might be a good idea. I have a prosthetic leg and a handicap shower would come in very handy. I actually felt that my $ would have been better spent at the Best Western. That's where we plan to stay next year.

Peaceful Country

The house was great. Dated, as other reviews say, but absolutely spotless. Everything was just as listed and very comfortable. The back yard area was wonderful. So nice to come in from work and relax out back while watching deer and bunnies play! Would definitely recommend and would stay again if in the area. The host was responsive and always made sure all was good!

Wonderful Stay in Wise!

We had a wonderful time in Wise. The house was exactly how it was described. There were a lot of little touches that made it feel like we were staying with family- extra blankets on the bed, trial size toiletries, and things in the kitchen you might have forgotten. It was a great stay!
