Abbeyglen is an old abbey that may have been luxurious in its heyday. Now it only feels somewhat worn down and in desperate need of renovation. Staff and management are very nice, but in an archaic, almost comical way. It’s like being taken back to the 1950’s. This includes the quality of the nightly «entertainment» (pianist, accordionist) If you expect modern amenities like in-room aircon, varieties of dining, on premise activities etc then avoid this hotel. Having said this, the place does have it’s charm in a peculiar kind of way. Location-wise it’s perfect if you love countryside peace and quiet or hiking. Value for money: Faaaar too expensive!
