We went for a romantic weekend and had a lovely stay at Refuge Inn. Loved the view from our balcony looking over trees and picnic tables. The ladies at the front desk were super helpful and the breakfast delivery to our room every morning was a great touch.

We loved the stay we had. The breakfast was great and we enjoyed getting it every morning: the coffee/tea bar is simple but hot & plentiful. The staff was always pleasant and helpful if we had a question. We did use the pool and hot tub and both were nice. We liked all the plants at the pool. The ponies were fun to interact with outside. Parking seemed easy and available. We will definitely return if we ever come back to Chincoteague

Wonderful place to stay for anyone who loves flower gardens, horses. & beautiful views into the nature reserve. Right next to Chincoteague Island Park. Breakfast made fresh daily & delivered to the room. Heated enclosed pool and jacuzzi. Clean , well decorated rooms with nice bathroom.

The property is immaculate The only problem I had was with the bed being too high. They did have a little step stool in the room which I used to get into the bed.

This is in a great location, close to lots of restaurants and shops. It’s also close to Assateague and its beautiful beach and lighthouse. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was beautifully decorated and comfortable. We also liked having a patio. I would definitely recommend staying here for a relaxing visit.

Tastefully appointed room and decor (not your sterile corporate looking typical hotel room). Beautiful indoor pool and hot tub with many tropical plants, felt a bit like a greenhouse - very relaxing. Very convenient location to Assateague National Refuge and Seashore. Be aware there is no elevator, so if you have any issue with stairs, request a first floor room.

We really enjoyed the patio outside each room for morning coffee and breakfast, which is included and brought to your room each day. The property is well kept with beautiful flowers. There are ponies on the property that my daughter loved to visit and we enjoyed an afternoon in the back picnic area throwing a football and hanging out. We were also able to rent bikes right next door to explore the area. We would love to come back and stay here again!

The décor is wonderfully quaint and homey--lots of wood, soft brown, taupe, and grey with an attention to detail, like the compass in the floor tile. Lots of attention to cleanliness and condition as well. And the room doors do not have self closing devices--no slamming door sounds! Thanks. Classic and charming.

This was a nice, quaint little place. They had on site ponies for my kids to see up close and personal and feed, and a well-heated indoor pool and hot tub. They bring breakfast to your room every day, included in price. The staff was very sweet and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.

As we visited off season, most attractions were closed. We thoroughly enjoyed the Chincoteague ponies in the corral and did bring quarters to feed them corn! The room decor was very up to date and everything was spotless and smelled fresh. The complimentary soaps and shampoos were a very high quality and bought some in the gift shop. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable about this unique area and always happy to help. I would definitely recommend this Inn and return to it myself.

This is the second time we've stayed at The Refuge Inn and it was even better than our first visit! Their staff is friendly and accommodating, you'll always receive service with a smile. Beautiful, comfortable rooms with handpicked antique furniture pieces and very clean. The grounds feature beautiful plantings and it's so nice to sit in the Adirondack chairs on the landing outside your patio door, sip a morning coffee and watch their horses grazing on their corral. The staff will deliver a free breakfast to your room (you choose from several options at check-in), a nice touch. We usually travel in this area off-season and LOVE the heated indoor pool as well as the hot tub and sauna. They have books and games available to enjoy in your room and the gift shop has a great selection of local artists' handiwork.

Love this older style hotel. It’s clean and convenient. It’s next to a bike shop that you can rent bike to ride on the assateague island. Also, it’s close to all the eateries and stores. We will definitely stay here again.

It was amazing!
This trip was a weekend getaway for two. We’d never been to Chincoteague and did not know what to expect. Chincoteague and especially the Refuge Inn are now our new favorite spots. Chincoteague in autumn is quiet and charming but thankfully not empty. The hotel won us over immediately with clean rooms in perfect condition, a friendly staff, and incredible comfort. The king size bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in, and a bonus at the hotel pool: a hot tub, which was smartly decorated with real plants, giving a feeling of total relaxation and escape. We will definitely return to this wonderful hotel.
