The room was in need of repair and updating. There was a mold problem in the shower, around the tub and it n the ceiling. Sink vanity was worn. Dirt in corners that could have easily been remedied if house keeping took the time to look. I was afraid to look under the bed. The pillows were awful. Unsure how the two my husband used were but of the two I used, one was flat and the other was filled with air. The air deflated when I laid my head down but I've never encountered an air filled pillow before.

First room smelled of smoke even though it was a nonsmoking room. Discovered someone had taped a plastic over the smoke detector. Talked with the front desk and they put us in a different room with out any push back.

The room was clean enough but the staff is so good incredibly nasty I can't believe it. They will glare at you, sigh in your face and talk to you like you're a peice of garbage. It's like youre bothering them because they have to put their phone down for 30 seconds. The vending machine took my $3 but didn't vend a drink. I informed the front desk and she immediately got super defensive! She literally said "we don't give you no nothing for that!" Then she said she wasn't there so how can she prove I put money in the vending machine. Yea I'm going to come up with an elaborate lie just to get a free drink. I was walking to my room and passed one of the staff members. I asked if I could have a clean towel from the cart she was pushing. "You're going to have to go to your room and bring me your used towels first we don't give out no extra towels" keep in mind I was there close to a week. But I guess your not allowed a single extra towels. During my stay the hotel was pretty empty. There couldn't have been more that 10 other cars in the parking lot. When I asked for an extra key because I got locked out of my room I was told I need to bring it back to the desk immediately because they dont have any extra keys for anyone. How is a hotel with a 100 rooms and only a handful of guests actually in those rooms going to run out of key cards? Most hotels including the other budget hotels give you more than one key when you check in

Despite another guest being very rude to the workers at check in over putting a card on file for incidentals I enjoyed the Red Roof Inn and will most likely stay there next time Im in Illinois. They took care of me.

The manager at this place didn’t let one of my employees to stay only because he wanted an explanation for the $25 extra charge before he even got to the room and the room was already paid for. My employee then said he will have to call the credit card company and check what the extra charges are for and then the manager told him he is not allowed to stay there anymore.
