What a wonderful gem!
The communication with the owner was very smooth. The location was amazing - beautiful view on the ocean, within walking distance of downtown and short drive to the hiking trails. The house is gorgeous and really spacious for 6 people. I actually thought that the dining area was going to be dark after seeing the pictures online, but it was so bright. My family and I really enjoyed our stay and we would recommend this house to any family or friends who would like to visit the area. Thank you Jeannie for your kindness and for offering such a beautiful house to visitors.

Awesome Home in Cheticamp!
Spent two weeks at Jeannie's home in Cheticamp. Since my husband's family lives down the road, this was the perfect location. We were able to spend so much time with his family. We hiked, kayaked, 4-wheeled into the mountains, golf at Le Portage and also at Highland Links. Great location and beautiful sunsets. Spent a lot of time walking the Old Cheticamp road. Ate at L'Abri and went to the Aucoin bakery every day. All within a few minutes of the house. We needed to reach out to Jeannie for a small issue and she had a repairman at the house that day!!.

We love Cheticamp!
Aucoin Bakery, a slew of restaurants, a comfy house with h great views of the Bay....this house has it all and more. It is located near the entrance to Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Easy in, easy out, clean and perfect place to relax.

FALL ON THE CABOT TRAIL
Four nights right on the Cabot Trail and Ocean in Cheticamp was great. House was easy to get to, clean and ready go. We really enjoyed ourselves. People very friendly at Flora's, the Co-Op, The Seafood Stop and especially the Doryman Pub. Thanks for sharing your house with us Jeannie - highly recommended.

Great house for a week-long stay
The house is spacious. We loved the large, fully-equipped kitchen. We appreciated the half-bath and laundry facilities on the first floor. Plenty of bath towels was a plus. There were a few unattended minor maintenance items: the closet door in the master bedroom was stuck and we couldn't hang up clothes; the knob on the dining room dimmer switch fell off. But we had mostly hiking clothes that didn't need to be hung up and there was lots of drawer space, so basically it was a great place to stay. It's conveniently located a mile or two north of downtown Cheticamp, and only about half a mile from the Doryman pub, which showcases major Cape Breton musicians. The owner was extremely responsive to texts when we had questions.

Great Location for exploring Cape Brenton
A couple days in Cheticamp to explore the area is more enjoyable if you have a spacious home to come back to every night. We traveled with our 3 teenage grandkids and the house is perfect and equipped with all you need. Washer and dryer an added bonus. House is very clean and cozy.

Good Base for Cape Breton National Parc
We had a pleasant stay at this for National Parc visits perfect located House (15 min, by car). We had everything we needed and enjoyed our stay in the comfortable house.

The location is fantastic. It is minutes from the national park and close to services. The house was very clean, but it is in need of some work (ex. really worn out sofa, missing blinds, peeling paint in washroom).

Wonderful location
We had a great time staying in Cape Breton. This house was clean and comfortable and the location cannot be beat. Hiking in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park was the highlight of our trip. The owner was very helpful and answered questions immediately. Overall, we had a great experience with this rental.

Perfect Cheticamp getaway!
The house was simple but well-equipped, VERY CLEAN and in a perfect location to visit the Eastern side of the Cape Breton National Park. Plenty of room for a family of four. The appliances worked well. We highly recommend it.

Ok but needs but needs maintenance
The review from May 5th is very accurate on things such as the tub being slippery, broken blind slats, broken outdoor lights, weak light bulbs, missing outlet plates and no instruction manuals. These little things make a difference; why they have not been addressed, is a mystery. At the same time, I think a rating of 1 is harsh. The house has a great location, was clean and well supplied. Compared to the other properties we have rented the rating we have given is accurate.

Very basic and disappointing house
If you want a house with non-functioning internet, a temperamental clothes washer, a confusing TV, limited cookware and ample road noise, this is your place. The tub is dangerously slippery, there's no toilet paper holder(!), and numerous things (light bulbs, slats in blinds, outlet plates, threshold covers, baseboard heater, bathroom vanity, etc.) are broken and/or missing throughout the house. If you are staying more than a couple of days, plan to bring your own soap, shampoo, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. The heat and hot water work well, though. A house manual is sorely needed. Also, see if you can figure out why so many people drive in and drive out of the funeral home next door; it's busy in the morning.

A Great Locale that will make your stay memorable.
This home was centrally located enabling us to easily discover Cape Breton Highlands National Park. This home is comfortable and has all the necessary amenities. It's a great place to escape to whether you're hanging out, or simply taking a deep breath and centering yourself with the soothing sound of the waves or choosing your own Park Adventure this is the place to stay. Spectacular sunsets and ocean scenery. Steep cliffs and deep river canyons bordering the Gulf of the St. Lawrence. Aucoin Bakery is not to be missed! Their sandwiches, turnovers, muffins, and squares are scrumptious. My top recommendations: 1. Skyline Hiking Trail, 2. Grande Falaise, Pilar, and La Bloc view points, 3. Touring Chéticamp Island, White Point, Meat Cove, and Green Cove.

The perfect location
This house was definitely in the perfect location, just kilometers from the entrance to the Cape Breton Highlands National Park on the North end of Cheticamp. Cheticamp is a beautiful little Acadian fishing town with amazing local food and the best bakery, Aucoin Bakery, just a few kilometers away. The house has amazing views of the mountains in the back and the bay in the front. The home itself was comfortable and clean and a great base for our many adventures. While only myself and my wife stayed for our honeymoon I can definitely see our larger extended family staying there in the future.

Nice layout
A clean two story house with nice deck at front and back. situated closely to everything in town. Three bedrooms, full linen and towels. Laundry facilities. Great recommendation by owner regarding places to eat. In particular Seafood Stop in town and Rustic Anchor in Pleasant Bay.

Lovely well maintained house in Cheticamp
Great well maintained and updated house in Cheticamp with full appliances, 1.5 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms and large kitchen and living spaces with tons of parking room and located right on the Cabot Trail. Easy to communicate with hostess and good value for spend and would stay again. Lots of towels left for us and the kitchen is well equipped with lots of working space. Great views across the trail out over the ocean with lovely sunset view opportunities. Be prepared for some road noise (night is quiet but traffic does start a bit early) and the Windows could use some better light blocking. Overall great property and I recommend it!
