Additional Information
The guest is required to sign a rental agreement and submit it upon booking the reservation. A Security Deposit hold of $300 will be made to the credit card on file 2 days before arrival. An automated message with a link to complete both the rental agreement and the security deposit will be sent shortly after making the reservation. The Security Deposit is released shortly after departure once the cleaning staff has verified that there is no damage or extra cleaning required.
Please NOTE - Directions to home and door codes will not be issued until a signed rental agreement and security deposit are received.
There is an additional mid-stay cleaning fee of $150 for any stays of 24 days or more. This will include a change out of linens and clean up of bathrooms and common areas. The host will coordinate with the guests to schedule the cleaning.
Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 14 days before the arrival date of the reservation. Fifty percent (50.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 7 days before the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 7 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued. Grace period with free cancellation for 48 hours after booking if arrival is at least 6 days away at time of booking.
This charming, rustic, log cabin in the woods sleeps 8, situated on 1.07 acres, and sits on a semi-wooded lot on a private, dead-end dirt road shared by several cabins. The end of the road is a cul-de-sac shared with 4 other properties. The cabins above and below are personal residences not used as vacation rentals. Both are roughly 100 - 150 ft from the cabin. The cabin across the cul-de-sac is a vacation rental and where our firepit and hot tub are located, they won't be able to see you. There's another cabin below that one that's been for sale for several months now and is currently not an active rental.
There are cabins on the ridge above and you may hear some sounds from time to time but it's very minimal.
This cabin is in the woods and bears/bugs/critters are a common occurrence. Please avoid leaving food or trash outside or in your vehicle and keep it locked when not inside. Trash should be placed in bear-proof bins in the parking area upon departure.
The cabin and neighboring properties have a metal roof so at times you will hear loud noises from small branches and acorns dropping from the trees. This is a common occurrence, especially in the fall.
Guests have access to the entire living area inside the house, the upper and lower decks. The access door to the crawl space area on the lower deck is off-limits and shall be locked at all times.
Communication will be done primarily through booking channels to ensure a record for both parties. Email, cell text and phone communication are also available for situations that may require more detailed communication.
We provide an initial supply of toiletries, laundry detergent pods, trash bags, paper towels, and toilet paper per bathroom to get you started on your mountain getaway. These supplies will typically cover up to 5 days, depending on the frequency of use. Any additional toiletries and personal supplies will need to be purchased at the guest's expense.
We also supply full sets of bath towels for each bed.
We do attempt to keep the firewood bin stocked but do not guarantee a supply will be available. Most of your local stores have firewood available. We also recommend guests bring their own fire-starting materials (lighters, starter fluid, Duraflame logs).
Cell phone coverage is limited in the area and guests may use wifi to send text and receive calls. We recommend loading any directions into your phone before departing the cabin.
There is always the outside chance during times of bad weather for power outages to occur, in which case the modem would lose power, and phone services would not be available. Cell service is very limited, so if you need to make a call during a power outage, you would need to go into Blue Ridge or Ellijay to make calls or texts. Emergency flashlights are available in the event of a power loss. We will attempt to provide updates on power restoration as much as possible, however, we can only provide what local power companies are sharing.
