I’ll start with the good news. Staff was excellent. Darius at the front desk was the best welcome I’ve had in Charlotte. I didn’t catch her name but the bartender was excellent as well. I stayed in room 1606 and it was very clean and very accommodating with a full fridge, stovetop and sink.
Unfortunately, when I returned to my room from a night out, my door was unlatched (maybe faulty door latch?) Made me feel weird since I remembered making sure it was shut before leaving (and DND tag was on door handle). After a thorough check of the room, I lied down and the AC struggled to cool the room, making it hard for me to fall asleep. If I had called downstairs I’m sure the great staff would have made their best efforts to remedy the situation but it was late and I just dealt with it. Only mentioning issues here so the next guests won’t have the same problems.
The only other thing I would mention is that there is no self-parking -you have to valet and I found it on the steep side ($55 before tip). As a consumer, I believe if the Hilton charged less, it would encourage more tips for the drivers.
