Få en følelse av å være "borte fra alt" mens du har to landbutikker (Barnstead Country Store & White Buffalo Trading Post) mindre enn 10 minutter unna. We had a great time with my family (2 parents 4 kids) at this location. Beautiful home on a very quiet lake/pond. The house was close to restaurants, grocery stores, and other activities yet tucked away as well. Kids had a blast and loved the theatre room on the first floor. The beach area was very well kept. Perfect for a family vacation.

Unforgettable Family Getaway in Barnstead

We just returned from the most incredible family vacation and we can't stop raving about our experience! From the moment we walked in the door, we knew we had made the right choice. The house was absolutely perfect - spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The location was ideal, with plenty of amenities and activities.But what truly made our stay stand out was the exceptional service provided by our host, Anna-Lisa. She went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, from recommending local restaurants to providing helpful tips and recommendations. Her attention to detail and warm hospitality made us feel like we were part of the family.Our family created so many wonderful memories during our stay, from lazy mornings by the lake to fun-filled days exploring the surrounding area. The house was the perfect base for our adventures, and we loved coming back to relax and unwind in the evenings with a toasty fire.We can't recommend this property enough to other families looking for a fantastic vacation experience. The combination of a great house, perfect location, and exceptional host made for an unforgettable trip that we will always treasure. Thank you to our host, Anna-Lisa, for creating such a special experience for us - we can't wait to come back and do it all again!

Peaceful and nice property.

It was a great place. All amenities well thought out. We lacked nothing. Only thing is glass and windows could have been cleaned for the start of the season and decks and patios swept before we arrived. Would also make it easier if more outdoor rugs were available. No big deal. I enjoy putting around and doing things but I also like nice clean windows to look out from. Overall, I would recommend this property to family and friends. The pond was glorious, and the ground's very neat. Thank you very much Anna Lisa

Amazing vacation home

We had an amazing time at Anna-Lisa’s lake house. We met her on arrival and she showed us all around the house. Right off I have to say there is way more to her home than advertised. I wish I had known everything that was supplied then I would have packed less. Anna-Lisa had thought if everything that we would need to make our vacation perfect, from beach towels, toys, boats and the Tiki hut was perfect. The first 2 days we only went in the house to sleep. I can’t wait to visit again. 😊😊

Perfect Lake Vacation

Beautiful, quiet, location with a very big sandy beach. It was great for the kids. The layout of the house was great. Anna-Lisa is very responsive. We had a minor issue with the sink and she fixed it immediately. Plenty of linens provided. Lots of sand toys and beach amenities. We have two small kids and the property is very kid friendly. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Vacation

We loved staying at Anna-Lisa’s property in Barnstead NH. First of all, Anna-Lisa is so nice and amazing about communicating with her renters. The little beach area that the house is on is perfect. It had soft sand and the water was like bath water! Plus we could see little fish swimming in the pond. It was really cool! We loved using the fire pit at night. There were plenty of chairs /seating outside too. The inside is great and the three bedrooms had AC units in them which was key. There were linens and towels provided along with some giant games like Jenga and Connect 4, so cute! The house was on a dirt road which is perfect for taking a little walk when you need a break. There was also a Dunks less than 10 minutes away which made my day. Anyway, I totally recommend this property and I hope to rent there again soon!

First guest almost done renovations!

Listing/guide isn't fully updated yet as they are almost done the renovations. LOVE the beach front property, 3 adults and 3 kids (12,7, almost 2) stayed. Keep in mind a few things...beds are not super comfortable and kitchen isnt fully stocked. All things I like to know so I can plan ahead when packing. Don't mind the dogs who are friendly and pop by just shoooo them away before they do there business lol. Tiki Bar, activities, fishing, hammock, swing. Anna-Lisa was very helpful and easy to reach. Thank you!

Nice property

Sitting on the deck overlooking the lake was incredibly peaceful and relaxing. Owner very easy to communicate with throughout the process. Reserved one of their other properties as a backup as construction was still ongoing. We stayed at the backup property. Would definitely stay at either of owners properties in the future.

Wonderful flexibility and communication with the owner!

Our family had a wonderful stay at owners other property due to work being done at Barnstead property. Owner was very generous to offer us this alternative and her response time to any questions was immediate. Would definitely recommend renting from her as her properties are on the water and come with everything you could ever want. It all made for a fun, peaceful family vacation.

Great family getaway!!

We had an amazing week away up in Barnstead. We live in the Seacoast of NH, so we didn't take advantage of the many great day-trips nearby, but we didn't have to! Each of our kids brought a friend and we had a fun and relaxing time right there. Having our own private beach was amazing. Water was perfect to swim at any time; having kayaks, a paddle boat and floats plus all the lawn games gave us plenty to do. Kids loved eating lunch at the new tiki bar (the parents enjoyed it at night!) and we took advantage of the fire pit as well. We were lucky to be close to home so friends could come visit for the day as well. The weather cooperated so we were outside and disconnected for the majority of the time - the one time it rained, we played games inside and it all worked out well. It was a perfect break from the daily grind - morning coffee and a book in the hammock, playtime all day, and drinks and music at night. Host was very helpful as our vacation approached and also while we were there. Would definitely go back!!

Great family vacation on beautiful pond!

We had a wonderful week at the lake house. It is a perfect location for little ones. Our young kids had a blast in the water and playing in the sand on the nice sandy beach. The pond has great fishing. My husband brought his boat up and caught many fish out on the pond as well as right on the dock. The big deck off the house was great for hanging out at night, as well as the fire pit and the newly built bar with Bluetooth speakers. The only things that I think could be improved upon (and absolutely not deal breakers - we would rebook here in a heartbeat) were the mattresses were definitely on the older side so sleeping was not the most comfortable and the water had a slightly unpleasant smell but I imagine this may be common with well water). Anna-Lisa and her family were amazing - we happened to arrive earlier than check in time and they were there cleaning up the beach for us because there had been a storm the day before which was above and beyond! Overall it was a perfect family vacation for our family.

Convenient and private

This was a perfect getaway for the family during COVID. The private beach, games fishing fire pit, cute house and easy drive from Boston made it a nice alternative after our vacation plans were canceled due to COVID.

Fun time on Huntress Pond

The house, site, and overall location are an excellent place to stay. Great outdoor deck with a view of the pond, while the yard/beach was fabulous...large, well equipped with chairs and a very nice dock. Also a very nice stone-lined fire-pit. Indoors, the cottage is nicely outfitted, good wi-fi, internet, and all three bedrooms had air conditioning. The one bath and shower is nice but small, and also has laundry facilities. The cottage has a nice sunroom/playroom well-stocked with games. The whole place was clean and is well-cared for, and the owner is super nice and responsive. Our only advice is that this place was listed for 8 people...this is fine if folks don't mind sharing a bathroom and the weather is fine. We spent most of our time outdoors with great weather, but if we'd had a few rainy days, the indoors would have been very close quarters for that many people all at once for extended times.

Family stay vacation

We had a great family vacation stay with this unit. Private beach, nicely kept beach house. Loved the beach, boats. We wanted a stay vacation for a family reunion- this was perfect - great place for kids and socializing as a family. Owner made us feel welcome and everything was there for our use.

A lake get away

We had a wonderful time at the lake. The little cottage had everything we needed to be comfortable and for fun (floats, kayak, boat, paddle boat). The neighborhood is quiet and the water warm and nice for swimming. Plenty to do in the Barnstead/Alton area. All around great!

A family vacation

Me and my family had a lovely time for a week's vacation on Huntress Pond. The home is situated on a really wonderful lot which gets lots of sunshine. We spent the week fishing, swimming, and playing lots of games. The flat and large sandy beach afforded us plenty of room to play all sorts of outdoor games, even setting up a badminton net. We brought a small fishing boat and really enjoyed trolling around the pond. We caught a lot of fish including small mouth and large mouth bass and lots of sunfish. The home has a lovely large sunny deck and we ate dinner every evening outside at the very large picnic table. The host was very reachable and accommodating and the home is very cute. It was a very nice vacation. I would recommend this spot.
