I recently stayed here a few weeks ago, and unfortunately, the rental did not meet my expectations. The listing advertises this as an ‘entire home,’ but it is actually a guest unit in a backyard duplex. I was specifically looking for a standalone home, not a guest house. Check-in was also frustrating. We did not receive entry instructions ahead of time and had to call the host on the day of arrival after not receiving a response through messages. Privacy was a concern as well. The front of the upstairs unit is mostly glass with sheer curtains, and at night, with the lights on, visibility from outside was uncomfortable. There is also a camera from the main house directed toward the deck area, which added to the lack of privacy. The backyard was described as enclosed and private; however, it is shared with the main house and other renters. Because of this, we didn’t feel comfortable letting our dog out freely, as he is anxious around unfamiliar people. Cleanliness was another issue. There were areas with noticeable dust that aggravated my allergies. The kitchen stove and oven were not clean upon arrival, there was burned food beneath the burners that smoked when I turned one on, and I had to clean it before being able to use it. This made the cleaning fee feel unjustified. I believe more transparency in the listing and better attention to cleanliness and communication would be helpful for future guests.
