Recommend booking it. If you like quiet this is the place for you. The hotel is on the north side of the island. You need the ferry to get to south side where the restaurants, excusions and activités are located. Getting there is easy. Very clean property and the staff are amazing. They are very helpful and knowledgeable.

The hotel itself is well maintained and beautiful, very clean and comfortable but there were random blackouts throughout our stay when we were in our room and at the overwater restaurant. Also, Sargassum is really bad and mosquitos are on another level on the north side of Caye caulker. I did love that you could rent bikes too!

Our experience at Zenses Hotel in Caye Caulker was extremely disappointing, and unfortunately, the resort did not live up to how it is presented online. The biggest issue started before we even arrived. We were not clearly informed that after taking approximately a 1-hour water taxi from Belize City, followed by a 25-minute taxi ride from the airport to the water taxi dock, we would then need to take another water taxi from the South Caye Caulker side to the North Caye Caulker side, where the resort is located. That additional boat ride takes approximately 15 minutes. This is important information that should be clearly communicated to guests when booking because it significantly affects transportation and planning. Once we arrived, the resort was essentially deserted, with no other guests around. We also quickly realized there was virtually no transportation available to get around the island, leaving us feeling stranded. We later learned there were only about six reservations at the resort, which would mean roughly 12 guests in the entire property. The lack of guests and staff made the property feel abandoned rather than like a functioning resort. The food situation was another major problem. We were essentially limited to three restaurants: Tequila Sunrise, La Fogota, and Lotus. Tequila Sunrise was located directly in front of the pool and over the beachfront/water, where there was a significant amount of seaweed and marine growth producing an extremely unpleasant and over

Zenses Hotel — Honest Review I stayed at Zenses Hotel for five nights during my visit to Caye Caulker, and I wanted to leave an honest review because I think there are both positives and things future guests should know before booking. Zenses is located on the northern side of Caye Caulker, away from the main part of the island. The location is peaceful and secluded, which can be a great thing if you are looking for somewhere quiet and away from the crowds. However, if you want to be close to restaurants, shops, nightlife, and activities, this location may not be the best fit. You will need transportation to get back and forth. The hotel does offer a daily ferry, which I found helpful. The ferry operators were always very nice and friendly, and I appreciated having that option. However, you do need to plan around the ferry schedule, so it is something to consider when booking. When I arrived, check-in was quick and easy. Denise was very nice and friendly, and I appreciated her kindness during my stay. There were fewer than 10 guests at the hotel while I was there, so the property was extremely quiet. If you want peace, privacy, and a place to disconnect, that may be one of the biggest advantages of staying here. The hotel itself is fairly new and has a lot of potential. I can see what they are trying to create, and I think Zenses could become a really nice property once everything is fully operational. The staff was extremely friendly! Our room was very clean. We went out night swimming in their lit up pool under the stars. One of my favorite memories. We also appreciated the golf cart ride from the hotel to the ferry. And we most appreciated the complimentary ferry ride from the north side to the south side of the island. The hotel is in a very quiet area.

**Beautiful, Clean, and Modern Stay! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐** I really enjoyed my stay at this property. The entire hotel was exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and welcoming. The staff were friendly, professional, and very helpful throughout my stay. I absolutely loved the modern layout and design of the rooms. The room was not only beautiful but also super clean and smelled amazing when I walked in. You can definitely tell that cleanliness and presentation are a priority here. There is currently only one operating restaurant on the property, but they do have a sister hotel nearby that guests can visit for additional dining options, which is a nice alternative. My only suggestion would be to get the pool bar up and running, as I think that would really add to the overall experience and make the pool area even more enjoyable. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again. The cleanliness, modern atmosphere, helpful staff, and beautiful rooms really stood out to me. Highly recommend! ❤️

No microwave/telephone in the room. We had to keep going to the restaurant to warm anything. The smell was awful from the beachfront. Can't swim in it and the restaurant is nice for convenience, but for the price of the food and drinks not worth it. This place is far from anything exciting lol.... I felt like I was on a stranded island. This is a good place for couples or anyone who doesn't want a crowd. Also there is a little grocery store/restaurant by Blu Zen, ask the hotel to direct you. They didn't tell us anything about it upon arrival 😩 not until the day before leaving 😭. It would have saved a lot of trips that took on the boat to Caye Calkner. But overall it was ok and staff was great.

As far as the stay itself, we were not pleased at all. The rooms were aesthetically pleasing. But we had troubles with the A/C the entire stay. The first night we hell, I literally woke up out my sleep sweating. We had to wait the next day to ask them to fix it. Due to there being no staff available after about 9-10 PM. We called, they “fixed it”. I guess because we have 2 definitions of cold, it wasn’t cold enough for us. We had to sleep with no covers to be comfortable & not sweat. We had 2 incidents where pieces of the roofing fell out. When we notified the front desk staff, she was very nonchalant and stated she would send maintenance up. No sympathy, no apologies, no accountability, or accommodations. Our food experience was 8/10. Bar experience was 100000/10 BIG THANKS TO RARULE!!!!! He was the ONLY staff that was attentive and informative at our stay. Other than that if I plan to visit Caye Caulker, Zenses would not be a hotel choice for me.

I hope that this place stays as spectacular as it is. The zenses is an exceptional find. I plan to stay there over and over again. While I build my home in Belize. I’ve told all my clients and friends about this place. The staff, including restaurant/bar staff were incredible and knowledgeable. I plan to stay at the zenses every time. It’s very clean. Super affordable. Accessible and comfortable. Love that place.

I must say that i was impressed with the cleanliness of the room and how modernized the items were. I only had 2 issues/complaints: 1. I was not told that there was a cutoff time when using the pool. My son, boyfriend and I went into the pool around 10 p.m. after returning from the Lobster Feast. While in the pool, the security guard walked by and just turn off the lights. That was when we got out of the pool and asked if there was a cut off time in which people shouldn't be in the pool and he said yes, it's 10 p.m. I believe that he could have approached us and informed us prior to turning off the lights. 2. They did not provide us with shower gels the 3rd night of our stay and I had to request for room service. 3. I was charged 50US+ more for a double deluxe room however the double room and the double deluxe rooms were exactly the same. When I asked what was the difference, they said that the deluxe has either the sea view or sunset view. I told them thst I would have loved the sea view but I was informed that Expedia customers did not have an option. I was dissapointed by that statement. I would have simply accepted the double room in that case because the sunset view seemed like bushes and houses plus we were never there for the sunset. We went to enjoy the sea!

Very mixed emotions about Zenses. Now before I go on and explain I want you to know it was low-season when I visited. Pros: Rooms and resort are beautiful. They did an awesome job. Also, the fact they have a shuttle that goes to the South Island is very important. Cons: Unfortunately way too many. Let’s start by saying this is located on the north side which is very desolate compared to the south, but that’s ok because there is still some really fun things to do. Showered the resort charges to use bikes which is a total bummer and do not offer golf cart rentals. The shower lacks any hot water. The floor is super slick when it gets wet. Also, you get one beach towel and 2 waters a day that’s it. Other resorts will replace the towels and provide more water bottles. Having said all this I’m not displeased staying here, but for what they offer they are charging way to much money.

The staff was not helpful with getting us to the resort or with our bags. They did not fully communicate prices and I was hit with an extra resort fee and extra person price because I had a 3rd person there and booked a room with two beds. Staff was also laughing between themselves while we were trying to check-in. I also saw a rat run across the floor when I was walking to the front desk at night time.
