Katane Palace Hotel is a gem, hidden behind dirty city streets. When you enter the door, it is as if you enter another reality and sense of quality. The staff was very friendly and forthcoming. As for things that need improvement, I would say that a better instruction for the safe is much needed. There was much confusion, and call for staff help. The breakfast is good and very standard Italian, but we missed some sliced tomatoes, paprika and maybe some cucumbers. It is not too much to ask for in a 4-star hotel, so close to the vegetable market. We stayed for 7 nights, Nov. 2019 and recommend this hotel at the strongest.

Hotellet lå litt unna hovedgaten, men grei gåavstand. Veldig bra parkeringsservice med egen garasje på hotellet. Harde senger, og dårlig dusj.

a nice hotel
All in all, it was a good choice quality and pricewise. The hotel looked well-kept, with an old-fashioned grand hotel look, and the room was spacious and clean, with decent furnishings and air condition. However, the bed was not a double: it consisted of two single mattresses. The bathroom was spacious and clean as well, with all the modern amenities and a bathtub. There was no complimentary tea/coffee in the room but the fridge was refilled with free soda and water every day. The free wi-fi functioned well. The balcony was nice but had no chairs. The staff was all in all friendly and helpful. They spoke English well and appeared professional at all times. The breakfast serving time was till 10. It was possible to sit outside in a nice yard. The breakfast was insufficient, with limited choices, which was not unlike the overall Italian standard. The freshly baked croissants were delicious though. The dishes were refilled regularly, and enough food was still available past the closing hour, which was appreciated by late risers. They made good coffee by order. The location was convenient. It took some 15 minutes by foot to the central station and some 20 minutes by foot to the main square. The airport bus stop was some 5 minutes’ walk away. Some of the nearby streets felt unsafe but they could be easily avoided by choosing another route to downtown.

Kjempe bra hotell, privat gårdhage. Bra hotell for lett adkomst til sentrum (gang avstand) stille og rolig, bra frokost og middag. Like fint for par,business og familie.helt unikt å nyte midddag i gårdhagen . Hotellet er familie eiet og meget rent, veldig bra senger.

Good price for the value. Near the 'city centre', but few restaurants nearby. Had to walk 10-15 min. Spacious rooms, a bit dated (wall paper loosened on the walls), but nice and clean bathroom. Too firm bed for me. Free water and pepsi in the minibar. Wifi not good in my room, better in the reseption area. The first night I had a room near the reseption, lot of noice from people coming and going, ad loud speaking from the desk. But I got a new room without problem, facing to the street. Nothing much to see from the window, only the wall of the neighbour houses. Not much traffic in this back street, silent in the night. But the garbage car was arraving 06 every morning...resulting in an early wakeup every day of my week long stay. The doors had to be slammed in order to lock them, and you was waked up. Not impressing to have such doors in a hotel... Not very large breakfast buffet, but OK for me. No variation, not hot foods. Cereals and toasts. Didn't try the restaurant. The outdoor garden was closed. About 25 E wth taxi from airport. Catania not the city I would visit as a tourist, too dirty and over crowded by cars. 10-15 minutes to trains and intercity bus station.

Meget hygglig betjening , hjelpsom og imøtekommende. Meget god mat på hotellet.Hadde 3 netter på hotellet og måtte reise tdlig ,ble da utsyrt med en fantastisk frokost til og ta med oss. kan anbefales.

- I wanted to shift my booking of the hotel for two days and they did not allow it, which is fine maybe all rooms were booked. But I was a little dissapointed when they would not even do a partial refund for 2/7 days we were staying in the hotel. - Bathroom is very large but with an annoying shower

We had a lovely short stay here. Breakfast was quite nice and staff was very nice as well. I would just say that the noice from the corridor was a bit too loud. Other than that it was a perfect place to explore Catania.

Staff not available after 7pm, when they finally came they couldn’t fix the safe. The bed was very hard and I couldn’t sleep at all. The room was very stuffy. The area felt unsafe.

Property was spectacular. Breakfast was adequate. Drunk Bros bar across the road is a must. Area just very run down and dirty. Real shame. Be great if there were a pool but the hotel was beautiful !

Home from home
The hotel was tastefully decorated. The seating area downstairs was co-ordinated and the chairs were comfortable. It gave a cosy feeling. It was nice to sit out in the square to have breakfast. The bedroom was spacious. The hotel was in a quiet area but perhaps the air conditioning was a little noisy. We did not turn it off as it was hot. A special word of thanks should go to the staff. They were all very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

Very nice Hotel and breakfast was great. However, the shower is setup in a way that it splashed everywhere while showering, other than that it's a good hotel and very clean. 10-15 minutes walk to the busy main street where all restaurant and attractions are.

Staff welcoming and very helpful. They arranged transfers and were happy to give lots of information on local area and things to see. We arrived early and our room was ready. Room very spacious and spotless. Hotel old worldly. Lovely terrace which was a welcome oasis from busy streets. The bar and Restaurant were good with again friendly and helpful staff. We used the restaurant on 2 evenings and we had plenty of choice at breakfast. Would stay there again if in Catania

Hotel un po' vecchiotto, negli arredi e nello stile. Camera parzialmente rinnovata, poco isolata acusticamente, letto comodo. Bagno da rivedere (rubinetti e scarico doccia). Parcheggio disponibile a pagamento. Colazione completa e sufficiente anche se con scelte limitate. Personale sicuramente efficiente, talvolta gentile e disponibile altre scontroso e poco affabile. Ristorante buono ma caro.
