Flott ærverdig hotell
Flott ærverdig hotell, men ligger litt utenfor allfarvei. Det er ikke alt for mye å finne på i nærområdet, kun et par kaféer. Man går ned til sentrum på ca en halv time. Rommene er rene og pene og frokosten inntas i øverste etasje med en flott utsikt. De har et bassengområde med solsenger hvor man kan slappe av og ta seg et bad på varme dager.

En liten Hotel perle i en stor by.
Fantastikk hyggelig betjening, god service med Shuttle bus til en fantastikk strand som var gratis for hotellets gjester og til sentrum av Catania. dårlig WI-FI men "all in all" en liten perle i en stor by med mye god mat.

Last night before flying out from Catania
We stayed at Villa del Bosco our last night before flying out from Catania. The hotel suited us perfectly, as we had been driving around Sicily and came in late at night. The hotel is easy to find (though you need a death wish to drive in Catania traffic) and they have great parking. If you want the city or to go somewhere else for dinner, this is not the place. Clean, friendly service, nice restaurant on the terrace - all in all a lovely place.

Bodde på hotellet 6 netter. hadde leiebil og kom oss rundt. Fantastisk parkeringsservise på hotellet. Fri biletter til en flott strand. Nydelig frokost. Vi , 2 voksne og 2 voksne barn bodde i begge delene av hotellet. en klassisk del og en designer del. Likte nok best den klassiske.

Staff were great, very helpful, hotel was clean, & tidy, pool was very handy, hotel was a little out of the city, however shuttle bus was a great help.

We would have liked the pictures to show the true different rooms. I guess we thought we were getting the Presidential Suite per the pictures. I thought we were staying in the villa but were in a different building. Thought there was a hot tub but that is in the PS. When we arrived they were very flustered by having booked 4 rooms thru Expedia. They were friendly but very overwhelmed. They gave us the key to someone else’s room so we went it to a room with other peoples belongings (for one room). To turn on the ac you needed to go back to the front desk for them to turn on and then back again to get a remote. Once settled we all wanted pizza. So we ordered pizza from take out and we brought back to the hotel to be told we needed to sit outside. We were not allowed to eat in the hotel because they didn’t serve pizza. We sat on the terrace and were eating and then told NO you can’t eat here you need to go to the pool and eat on the small tables. And then when we went to move we were told we could stay there just that night don’t do it again. The following night I was walking thru the hotel to watch the same staff member moving tables and chairs to accommodate two other parties with pizza. And he told me it was because Superman delivered the pizza. So we ordered pizza again and this time was allowed to eat the pizza in the bar area. Not happy at all! All 7 of us were very offended.

Most disappointing hotel stay ever
Our recent stay at villa del bosco is without doubt my worst hotel experience ever. We had booked two rooms in the old /classical style department, as we did not like the decor/design in their other building (vdb next). We arrived late in the evening and was told that the aircondition was not working and that they didn’t know if and when it would be fixed, but we were promised relocation to other rooms with aircon the next day. My mums room was not even cleaned or made tidy, so the staff gave her another room in ‘vdb next’, also a room without functioning aircon. We accepted this as we thought everything would be fixed the following day. Next day they told us that the only solution was a relocation to two rooms in vdb next, and as we did not like these rooms at all, we tried to be relocated to another hotel through hotels.com, which was not possible, and when we called the hotel after two hours to accept the other rooms, they already sold them to some others guests, which meant that we had to stay in our other rooms without aircon. Aircon wasn’t the biggest problem though, as the shower in my mums room started to be boiling hot after two days. She couldn’t shower and told the staff everyday. Their response was: ok, we will send someone to fix it, but they didn’t do that until the last day (maybe they tried, but the water was still boiling hot after 2 minutes). In general the hotel is not in any way a 4 star hotel. It is worn down and does not at all look like the pictures.

Ho soggiornato una notte in questo albergo ed è stato assolutamente poco confortevole. A partire dal parcheggio (preventivamente prenotato) dopo aver lasciato la vettura sono stato contattato con insistenza dalla reception chiedendomi di spostarla perché un ospite che non aveva prenotato aveva lasciato la vettura erroneamente nel parcheggio. La stanza è piccola e poco confortevole. Era presente un rumore costante ed intermittente (sembrava un autoclave) che però veniva avverartito anche da un collega con stanza al primo piano (la mia stanza era al pian terreno). La colazione niente di che e la sala era sporca con diversi tavoli non puliti. Il personale nel complesso è stato gentile ma non il massimo della professionalità. Prezzo eccessivo

Yleisilme yleisissä tiloissa hieno. Oma huone ANKEA,1. Päivän jälkeen yitimme vaihtaa jopa huonetta, onnistumatta. Huoneessa kaksi sänkyä, 1. Pieni tuoli ja pöytä 40 x60 cm, siinä kaikki. Koko kaksi viikkoa matkalaukut lattialla avoimena, ennen siivoojan tuloa kaikki kasaan siihen lattialle, että siivooja pääsee. Lakanat vaihdettiin useampaan kertaan, pyyhkeet joka päivä. Huoneen lattia oli kuitenkin jatkuvasti "hiekkainen" joka johtui varmaankin Etnan läheisyydestä, onneksi meillä oli lossut mukana

Très très bien
2 séjours de 3 nuits consécutives à quelques jours d’intervalle ... ne pas dormir dans les Chambres Baroques au bord de la route, c’est bien trop bruyant. Par contre, les chambres côté intérieur et les Chambres Design....très très bien. Belles finitions et confort de haut niveau. Parking un peu petit mais petit déjeuner vraiment exceptionnel avec vue sur mer ... un de mes hôtels préférés sur Catane, à un prix raisonnable, et qui dispose aussi d’une piscine ! Le personnel est de plus d’une amabilité remarquable. De vrais professionnels.

Bad location, incompetent reception staff
The hotel was clean and well maintained. It was not in a good location at all for visiting the centre or beach. If you have no car, expect to pay a minimum of €30 return for a trip to the centre. There are no restaurants nearby so that is the only option. The buses are unreliable and infrequent. The reception staff were not forthcoming with any information and often inaccurate. The shuttle bus to the beach and city centre operated at peculiar times and was only able to take 8 passengers in the van. If you booked the 0930 bus out, you could only take the 1630 bus back- only two trips there and back! There was no evening shuttle to the centre,the last bus going in at 1830. We booked the hotel taxi (€10 one way) in the evening for three consecutive trips into the centre. My daughter was not well enough to go into the centre on the first night so we cancelled that day. The receptionist then cancelled the remaining trips without telling us and no explanation was given. Very poor! We booked the hotel taxi to take us to the airport on our departure and it didn’t turn up. No apology given by the receptionist or the manager or explanation. We nearly missed our flight. The restaurant menu was lacking variety and imagination and overpriced. The restaurant staff were lovely though. It would be better to get a hotel more centrally located and nearer to the bus station. The taxis are a rip off ,too.

Very bad!! Didn't even stay one night of our four night stay because the hotel was so terrible. The beds are horribly uncomfortable, my boyfriend laid down for a 10 minute nap after we checked in and he woke up with neck and back pain, we asked if we could switch rooms but were told all the mattresses throughout the hotel are the same, we were given one additional pillow which obviously did not help. At reception, the staff argued with us about not giving us our money back. The hotel is not as advertised online. The pool is very small, the free shuttle service offered must be reserved a full day in advance, and it's very, very noisy, you can hear everything that goes on in the halls and upstairs. We were told the manager and owner cannot be contacted and of course the receptionist didn't have the authority to reimburse us but would'nt call the manager or owner for approval and would'nt give us the phone number, which seems rather shady... Reception told us we had to come back the following morning at 8am to speak with the manager, who might not even be there. Very odd. We were either going to book another hotel or get flights out of the city and end our holiday short. This hotel was SO bad that we legitimately considered just leaving the country. We ended up staying at the Four Points by Sheraton which was a much nicer experience. I would highly suggest anyone considering staying at Hotel Villa Del Bosco reconsiders and looks at the Four Points by Sheraton instead.

les chambres sont très propres et confortables. Certaines sont grandes mais d'autres plus petites , ce qui a été notre cas. Il faut être dans l'annexe pour bénéficier d'un balcon. Dans notre cas, la fenêtre de la chambre donnait sur la terrasse du restaurant. Souci , le soir venu, devant notre fenêtre, une table de restaurant était installée. même si les vitres étaient sans teint, il fallait fermer les rideaux pour une certaine intimité. Bruit à noter aussi.

Belle demeure ancienne, mais très mal entretenue, propreté douteuse, équipement vétuste, piscine sale, chambre poussiéreuse... Personnel féminin sympathique. Chauffeur de la navette très arrangeant. Le prix payé est beaucoup trop élevé par rapport aux prestations et propreté.
