Nestled in a pinewood forest of 2.5 acres with direct access to the sea, this large villa with business WiFi and work from home facilities, definitely one of the most stunning villas in our collection, offers spectacular views of the rocky cliffs of Castro. It boasts a heated outdoor jacuzzi overlooking the sea and a private sea access, while the closest town, Castro, is only approx. 10 minutes walking distance. You will immerse yourself in a corner of paradise where you will smell the scents of the Mediterranean and listen to seagulls and cicadas interrupted only by the sound of the waves. This villa is located in an exclusive and unique estate consisting of several villas and trulli, separated from each other by a pinewood forest. It is known as "La Palombara" and was popular with VIPs in the seventies and eighties. At the end of 2019 we rediscovered this heavenly place and we chose to upgrade and redesign parts of it. It is now available for guests that are looking for a hideaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
In the photo gallery you will find a map of the entire grounds. A path that leads directly to the sea, starts right below this villa. On your way to the sea, you will pass some picnic areas with breathtaking views. Once on the rocky beach, you will find four access points for swimming, diving, snorkeling or fishing in the crystal clear water of the Lower Adriatic Sea. Dolphins have been spotted from the picnic areas. (Caution: the path and access to the sea is not suitable for small children or people with disabilities).
The villa is on two levels. There are five bedrooms in total: one double room with en-suite bathroom with bathtub; one single room with small en-suite bathroom with shower; one double and one triple room sharing a bathroom with shower; one large room on the lower floor, equipped with desks for remote working but also two double sofa beds, and a small bathroom. There is a large living room and a fully equipped, modern kitchen with induction stove, dishwasher, oven and a large fridge. All bathrooms and the kitchen have been completely renovated between 2021 and 2022. There is air conditioning (cold or warm, depending on the season) in the lower level as well as part of the upper level (including the living room and one bedroom); however, the thick walls and the trees mitigate the summer heat. In winter, the house can be heated. Just outside the living room, a partly shaded terrace offers wonderful views and maximum privacy.
A heated outdoor whirlpool is at your exclusive disposal below the house, on the cliffs overlooking the sea. Enjoy pure relaxation in daylight or in the moonlight, with a glass of Prosecco or a good book, look at the azure blue sea below you and forget the stress of everyday life with individually adjustable water temperature (maximum 40 °C) as often as you wish. You can even connect your phone via Bluetooth to the internal speaker system and play your favourite music. The whirlpool will be opened for you on request; it can be used all year round, including (or even more so!) in winter. The surcharge is €120 for the preparation €15 per day. It includes the cleaning and disinfection of the whirlpool approx. twice a week and with every guest change.
A rooftop terrace, a barbecue and an outdoor shower complete the picture.
The well-known fortified village of Castro, with its bars, cafes, restaurants and a supermarket, can be reached on foot in just ten minutes. The walk is along a charming path under the ancient Messapian walls. For those who prefer sandy beaches to rocks, the enchanting sandy beach of Porto Miggiano is 5 km away; very charming are also the coves of Porto Badisco and the long sandy beaches of Alimini, north of Otranto.
Sheets, duvets and towels are not included. If you don't want to bring them with you from home, regardless of the length of your stay, you can rent them for €26 per person.
Final cleaning is not included and costs €160, unless you clean yourselves before departure.
Dogs and pets are welcome, if you inform us in advance! Surcharge: €150 for the 1st one, €75 each for the others. Usually max 1 large or 2 small ones are allowed, but exceptions might be possible upon request.
We will ask you to pay a security deposit of €600 before arrival. The security deposit will be refunded within 7 days after departure, if there is no damage.
Electricity costs (and thus where applicable AC, hot water, heating etc.) are NOT included in the price and will be charged based on your actual consumption. The price per kWh charged to guests was €0,41 on 06/01/2026, when this text was last updated. Prices may slightly change over time.

We are obliged by law to verify the identity of all our guests. We will therefore ask you to upload copies of your IDs on our (secure) website to verify your identity before handing out the key code for the accommodation. Your personal data is treated in full compliance with EU data protection laws.
Also, we are obliged to sign a rental agreement with our guests (one person per group). This will be done digitally and requires just a few seconds on your side. You can find a template of the rental agreement on our website.
Parties, gatherings, events or loud music are not allowed at this property unless explicitly authorised beforehand by us in writing.
In case the local municipality charges a tourist tax, we will ask you to pay this separately to us and we will transfer it to the local authorities as required by law.
Please note that, like for all houses in Italy, the power allowance of the house is limited and you might not be able to always use all electric appliances simultaneously. No need to worry: most guests don't even notice this limitation.
