Great rooms and locations, poor service
Despite of spacey, clean rooms with comfortable beds and excellent location close to the beach and at the very centre of Bocagrande, I would not recommend this hotel - at least to foreign tourists travelling to Cartagena. The hotel staff is generally polite (which I think that applies to most Colombians) and speak English - a conveniency not so often experienced in other cities of Colombia. Beyond this, however, the staff seems unorganized and unable to provide any help or service beyond checking in and out. For instance, they are not able to assist ordering a taxi, neither if trying to order a pick-up at arrival or when leaving. Taxis are of course easily available both at the airport, bus terminal and outside the hotel, but the taxis are very small (barely space for 4 passengers and no further space for baggagge. Which may require a family with baggage to travel in 2 taxis. Also, even Colombans themselves advise to order taxis rather than just picking one at the street, for safety reasons - especially for foreigners. All other hotels I've stayed in in Colombia have been able to order taxis or provide transport services. (Again, I personally experienced no threatening situations stopping taxis at the street or outside the airport despite my poor spanish and looking everything else than Colombian. But if you're not comfortable taking the risk, choose another hotel.)

Yo rente 4/4 por iguales a uno de los cuatro le dieron todos los privilegios del Hotel y a los otros tres privilegio limitado cuando fuimos a quejarnos usaron todas las excusas posibles pero ni ellos tenían respuestas el porqué había pasado eso. Lo peor es que los 3/4 que no tenían privilegios estaban donde estaban haciendo construcción o sea que esos tres son los que Los privilegios y no al otro, que estaba lejos De todos los ruidos de la construcción . Le dijimos que estábamos dispuestos a pagar por los privilegios adicionales y nos quisieron cobrar más de lo que nos costó el viaje completo. Muy mala administración y peor el servicio al cliente. En total éramos 12 seis parejas Las cuales nunca regresaríamos a ese Hotel y le hemos aconsejado a muchas de nuestras amistades Que están planificando visitar a Cartagena y le hemos advertido que no renten en ese Hotel.

El hotel es viejo, pero bastante bien conservado. Tiene acceso a la playa, cruzando la calle, pero es una playa pública donde abundan los vendedores ambulantes, los cuales pueden llegar a ser muy molestos. El menú del restaurante asignado para el "todo incluido" llega a aburrir al tercer día, por las opciones casi siempre iguales o similares.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel with my close friend. Cesar and Alfredo made the stay very pleasant and welcoming and I appreciate them. The room cleaning was excellent however I feel like they went through my belongings but I do not know for sure. The food was pretty nasty but the drinks and fruits offered were delicious. For the price you pay I guess that is expected. The rooms were nice and not a catfish and it was very easy and affordable to call cabs directly to and from the hotel.

Es un hotel antiguo que no ha sido renovado de manera integral. El mobiliario y la estructura en general es anticuada. En nuestra habitación el aire acondicionado era deficiente y escuchamos a otros huéspedes quejándose de lo mismo en el lobby del hotel. Cuando usábamos la ducha se salía el agua y se mojaba todo el baño. Dentro de las cosas positivas esta la atención que fue muy buena, la ubicación y el desayuno estuvo bastante bien. No me volvería a hospedar pues por el mismo precio o mas barato se consiguen mejores opciones en la zona y en hoteles mas nuevos.

Overall its a nice place. Pros: clean, secure, across from the beach, close to shops and 10 minutes from the major sites. Cons: not a lot of food options. Paid for all inclusive it only included buffet option. As a plant based pescatarian most choices had diary and meat so I had to pay to eat at other places. There was construction happening all day and loud music mid day to late night so it was hard to rest and work remotely.

During the entire week we were at the hotel, the air conditioning did not work well. The day we arrived it was necessary to change rooms. We visited five rooms and all had the same problem. Finally we were provided with a fan to get us through our stay. The other inconvenience we had was that I paid the total cost of the room for two people from Canada and when we arrived at the hotel they charged me the VAT tax for a value of 359,682 Colombian dollars, approximately 124 $CA, because as a Colombian citizen in immigration they did not stamp my passport, since I did the electronic procedure to enter the country Ckeck-Mig and they do not stamp it. The explanation they gave me was that since my passport was not stamped, I was charged this tax, which I would have avoided with the stamp. Totally absurd. I am going to file a right of petition to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs so that they can explain to me if what the hotel did is legal or not. Finally, I had another disappointment, since from Canada I quoted the possibility of receiving my two children in the same room for a few days, since the room had two double beds. I was quoted the equivalent of an additional 30$US$ per person, but the hotel charged me 150$Ca for each one, costing me approximately 425$CA each night, not that it was a 5 star hotel. this situation forced my children to get an airbnb. The truth, it was for my wife and me a total disappointment. I do not recommend this hotel as a vacation destination.

The good: - service staff - VIP rooms cleaned well with free minibar refills, and beach towels refills, modern power control, fan, Netflix etc. - beautiful room despite some visible aesthetic damage here and there - close proximity to beach & stores/restaurants - free breakfast butlers lounge area Negatives: - by some standards general areas surrounding hotel could be considered run down but this would apply to the entire town - rooftop pool is small in size and pretty full. Rooftop views not good as screen blocks your view - free breakfast was mediocre not enough meat-free options Overall 5/5

Overall, its good for its value. Food needs more variety, AC in rooms are terrible. Natives also by the door to acost you as soon as you step out. Front door security does nothing in that regard.

Ze vragen (ja iedereen) vaak of je iets wilt bij 1x nee of ja is het dan ook klaar. Er is volop diversiteit als je een stoel wilt of drinken. Je komt niks te kort. La comida nos alcanzaba si llegaba en el segundo turno, eso pasaba en el desayuno y en la comida , mi habitación era vip y me tuvieron que cambiar por el aire no funcionaba , en la segunda habitación tuve que tener aparte un ventilador , el bar dos dias las botellas vacía, el staff del hotel amable pero la piscina no está nada agradable no tiene comodidad yo no lo recomiendo para nada y de hecho llegue enferma del estómago

The location is bar none. Across from a great beach, right by the hop on hop off juan valdez stop. The building is very nice and clean. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I bought the all inclusive and the food was great. The pool is clean and right by the snacks and drinks. The ride to the pier/ downtown is 12000 or 5usd right from the hotel taxi depot. Right behind the hotel is a highly walkable thoroughfare with shops and restaurants.

I stayed here with one of my girlfriends for a week. The hotel itself was fine. Rooms were good enough and the location was good (across from the beach and a $2 uber to the downtown area where we spent most of our time. What was extremely unacceptable was the behaviour of the hotel staff. They were so CREEPY and made my friend and I very uncomfortable. One of the men obsessively texted and called me on whatsapp - I did not give him my number so he must have got it from the hotel information. Another staff member called into the hotel room at 3am asking if my friend wanted company. We would avoid certain areas of the hotel so we wouldn’t have to see these people. No where else during our trip did we feel this uncomfortable as young women. Extremely upset that this happened. We didn’t want to complain either because the guy that called into our room seemed like the night manager so we didn’t know who to go to. Don’t stay here unless you have a guy with you.
