Overall, we had a good stay and appreciated how responsive the host was. Communication was excellent, check-in was easy, and the home was conveniently located close to downtown and the state park. There were several areas that could use improvement. The home would benefit from a thorough deep cleaning. The floors, carpets, walls, and kitchen all needed more attention than expected, and the ventilation system and vents were quite dusty, which seemed to contribute to congestion and allergies during our stay. The refrigerator's water filter also needed to be replaced. Some of the amenities were outdated or not in working condition. The bikes were rusted with flat tires, the boogie boards were broken, and several TV remotes did not work properly. The large front sliding glass door also needs a blind or curtain, as it allowed a significant amount of heat into the house during the day, making it difficult to keep cool. The Wi-Fi was also unreliable and slow. It repeatedly disconnected our baby monitor. The listing states that parking can accommodate up to seven vehicles, but that would likely only be possible with compact cars. We had three larger vehicles, and they occupied most of the available parking space. Overall, the host was friendly, communicative, and quick to respond throughout our stay. The location was a definite plus, but with a deep cleaning, some maintenance, and updates to the amenities, this property could provide a great experience for future guests.
