Koselig og lite hotell med hyggelig frokost
Lite og koselig hotell og sentral beliggenhet. Frokosten serveres i hjemmekoselig omgivelse og fyr i peisen.

Mer en leilighet enn ett hotell - helt ok standard
Sov her kun en natt. Veldig koselig sted - egentlig mer en liten leilighet enn ett hotell. Eget rom for oss voksne - deilig når man reiser hel ferie med to store barn. Ikke mer enn OK standard - dårlig WiFi - frokost kan knapt kalles frokost. Veldig bra beliggenhet - egen parkeringsplass rett utenfor leiligheten. Carmel var en veldig koselig by. Fint sted å bo for å utforske byen - kunne godt tenkt meg å blitt en dag til her. Men ikke først og fremst pga av hotellet. Men helt greit nok.

The outside of the property is quite lovely, having lots of plants and the site is very clean. We arrived late, so didn't check in with the front desk. Instead they left a sealed envelope on the door, telling us where to locate the key to our room. The bathrooms are updated and nice. I would recommend taking out the carpet in the living areas and replace with laminate, wood, or other non-carpet option. I personally feel the carpeting is very hard to keep clean and makes the room look frumpy.It contributes to a musty aroma in the room. The furniture is of an older generation, but in good condition, and goes along with the style of the Inn. On a side note -- it would be nice to be left a note as to where the hair dryer is located. I thought there wasn't one in the room, until my husband found it in the 2nd drawer of the tall dresser.

The room was dingy and old. The heat did not work. The staff was out to lunch and required me to wait over an hour for service to check in. I would not recommend this hotel.

The Briarwood Inn has a cozy stay in store for you! I stayed in room 44 on the second floor. I enjoyed the spacious room with a love seat, club chair, and a wall fireplace which made this room warm and cozy. The sheets and pillows on the kingsize bed were comfortable and ensured my good night's sleep. The large bathroom vanity and shower are bright and make me feel right at home. The Briarwood Inn's location just two blocks from Ocean Avenue made it a comfortable choice for getting outside for a morning walk. Thank you!

Excellente location right in the hearth of Carmel -walkers paradise-, the Dolores Cottage 1, is very well equiped with a full kitchen, chimney, 1 and a half bathrooms, and parking.

Love this little apt style hotel room. It was close to good restaurants and the beautiful beach. It is dog-friendly too, which is a plus.

The cottage was small and quaint, with good insulation. Could not hear others in the rooms or bathroom and if doors were shut could not hear outside traffic. The building next door was under construction but noise was minimal. The beds were clean and pretty comfortable but space was limited. Bathroom had some spots that could have been cleaned better. Towels were nice. The kitchen was small, we did not attempt to cook. the supplies for cleaning kitchen was lacking and there were some mildew sponges under sink that smelled. After buying new sponge and cleaning plates all was good. Great location just a block from a little grocer store and a nice stroll through shops and restaurants to the beach. The town seemed pretty slow paced and the beach was not over crowded.

Everything was really nice and cozy. Staff was friendly and lots of food options in the area. Would definitely stay here again. Pet friendly was a major plus.

Time is up!
This would have been a 5 star rating… and then check out came along. We asked for a late check out. We were told they didn’t do that for this property. They said the best they could do was 15 minutes. Then while we are racing to get out on time, they send house keeping 15 minutes early to hurry us along. We just dropped 1000 dollars and you want to squeeze us out early!?!? Not going back.

The room was incredible but the best part of our stay was the amazing manager who checked us in. Not only did she give me a map of the town but pointed out spots I asked about. Our room had not been cleaned and she was so sad gave us a bottle of wine and instantly got the room in order. This is. a must stay!!!

Didn't like staying in a 1950's house. Only heat was in the living room. Woke up to a cold house. Summertime should be fine, but I wouldn't stay here again in the winter.

Classic Carmel inn with unique rooms and property- stay was fine, nothing fancy. Room was clean but some unfinished painting work in the bathroom. No frills here.

Incredibly disappointed. Old, dated, poor amenities. Yet called a luxury penthouse. Ridiculous. Gross, old furnishings, flooring, cabinetry. Did not have staff to clean rooms daily and did not leave enough towels etc. Just under 2K for 3 disappointing nights. Would not recommend in any way at all.

Comfortable and well located
We had a very comfortable ground-level room for us and our dog. It was roomy and included dishes and a microwave. The price was reasonable. The parking was a little challenging for a larger car :) but hey it was nice to have off-street parking! The reason I gave a low eco-friendly mark was because there could have been a small recycling bucket for bottles and papers.

Pleasant for a night
Pleasant and quaint no frills stay. Hotel is reminiscent of 1940s motel inns. Pretty basic but for a one night stay and the price compared to other properties it was just fine.

The front desk was very accommodating. Yes, you might have steps but due to an injury I had to request a downstairs room. Fabulous service and yes they graciously moved us. If you select convenience over fancy choose this hotel. Walkable to the beach, convenient to Carmel shopping and you don't have to find street parking. The room could use a little updating (new blinds) but nothing that you can't live with for a few days.
