Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life at this wonderfully scenic spot in Carmarthenshire where you can take the coastal path to nearby Llansteffan Beach (3 miles) and roam the sandy shoreline. Alternatively, head to nearby Scott’s Bay (3.5 miles) to spot a rich variety of birdlife, flora and fauna.

Overlooking the River Twyi are the ruins of Carmarthen Castle (6.5 miles). Carmarthen is a market town with plenty of independent shops to browse and plenty of eateries to savour the local produce. You can bring your buckets and spades because there are plenty of beautiful sandy beaches to enjoy, including Ragwen Point and Pembrey, both under 20 miles.
