I have been traveling to this resort for years and I realize it’s not their fault that they were struck by hurricane. My issue is that it wasn’t clearly stated when I booked that there was so many limitations and there was so much construction going on even though I called on several occasions to get my room cleaned, nobody ever came, not even to replaced towels. The amount of construction around the major areas to include the main pool was extremely inconvenient and rough to deal with. They really needs to be more notification of the current condition of the facilities.

No open restraints on site although there are 2 food trucks. We could hear noise from adjacent units and had to run a fan in the bedroom to cut down on the noise.

Wonderful place, beautiful beaches and condos. Multiple pools, staff very helpful, and many services. One suggestion, we had to rent bikes. Bikes should be included with resort fee, most places do this.

Grew up at South Seas and the magic has not changed and it’s Gorgeous! Truly Wonderful Grounds that will be even more Beautiful after Construction! It’s is an absolute favorite place for us! But, paying almost a $1000 a night and a 250 deposit PER DAY! the standard needs to b higher …as far as the staff - but only checkin / front desk / cleaning and MAINTENANCE (biggest Fail) as ALL other staff (pool, beach trolley) were AMAZING- with positive great attitudes. Our beach villa had no internet - no working TV entire trip! Light bulbs not changed and no shelf holders in refrigerator. Reported many times and silence. No one ever followed up. Don’t you guys do a walk thru? Checkin :( hardly any info given including about golf carts! Or trolley schedule. - no staff at beach or pool knew the last trolley ran at 5pm (too early) and we have an 88 year old with us. So that made for a hassle first day big time. Very sad - ALL windows except balcony door covered in dirt and bugs for looks like years and most are broken and don’t open and are dangerous. This is not a hard fix but when it was brought up it was “oh it’s not our problem”. Unfortunately yes it is Do Better! With less Attitude! Construction drills start at 730am so be aware. We are so saddened with this very fixable and preventable situation but still luved to b there- If they can get that part together and an attitude adjustment with the Front desk and maybe a real life maintenance dept it will be TOP notch!

While we understand you are still getting things back to normal after the hurricane…the property near our rental was in terrible shape. They were rebuilding the deck/walkway to the beach and there were large areas missing boards which made our toddler trip and fall. The grounds around our unit were unkept; overgrown bushes, trash and debris scattered randomly throughout the property. The stairs and outside of the unit was in terrible shape as well. Just horrible all around for the price that you charge. Also, you should mention that the nice pool/club area is over a 5 minute drive from the units you rent! According to the pictures and description online, the beach club was on site near the rentals. We are highly disappointed in our stay.

It was a construction site. Debris around buildings, in our stairway and common areas. Construction noise started before 7 am. Construction workers living in the guest buildings and very loud. Amenities a minimum at best.

There was a few mishaps with checking in. First sent to wrong condo that hadn’t been cleaned yet. They had written down the wrong number. No problem. So we then moved our stuff to 2nd condo. Just after unloading everything. Got a knock on door from maintenance to spray for ants. Which he found ants all over the LR couch and end tables and kitchen counter coming from slide door. Had to go back to office and ask for another condo. They were very apologetic and had to get another one cleaned. We waited over an hour. Terry was very nice and apologetic. He even came to second condo to help us move to the third one. The condos are on second floor so up and down steps while moving was a lot. Stressed us out our first day it was kind of a bust going anywhere while waiting for the 3rd condo. Things happen. The property is very nice and the manager Terry was very apologetic and helpful. Terry handled the situation very professionally. He even offered to buy us lunch from one of the food trucks. I would definitely come back. It was our first time to Captiva. South Seas is beautiful. We are planning a trip for South Seas in the fall.

It was amazing and the staff was so lovely! The only complaint may be that the pool area got way overcrowded the last day - but it’s also a family friendly resort with a lot of kids so what can you expect!

Very pleased with our stay at this resort. The harbor side had an amazing view. We watched the sunrise from our balcony and the dolphins entertained us.In the evenings we walked to the beach to watch the beautiful sunset. everything you need is right on the property. Quiet this time of year, very relaxing. Beautiful pool area, great beach, excellent Dolphin watching right outside our room and on the marina walkway. Excellent dining however only on dinner hour option on site. Some of the areas are a little dated and need updating, lighting on the marina walkway was poor as some of the lights were out. Staff everywhere was very friendly, provision store, bars, restaurants etc. Definitely recommend renting a golf cart. All and all very happy with our choice of destination and would go again!

This is not 5 stars and 4 stars is generous Arrived at 4:30pm for 4 check in and there was a line out the door with limited staff and only 3 of many check in locations open - SLOW! Room was tired, but provided a nice view of the marina. Harbour side bar offers $15-$20 cocktails. Breakfast the next morning was buffet style and if the resort isn’t able to get that right, then it’s a major warning sign. Concerns are old/stale options and some options were just low quality. 6:30pm reservations for 25th Anniversary dinner and the place was empty, but service was average. Unfortunately, the food was even worse. Wife added lobster to linguini and that was like tiny white jerky protein. Ordered porterhouse pork chop that was difficult to cut and was overcooked and had no flavor. Tipped traditional 20%, which was not earned. Wife left her jacket over her chair and it was never found. Very few customers, so it’s concerning that a call to room from resort never happened after dinner. Requested bottle of wine to room at 7:45pm. The front desk called shortly after to see if glasses and cork screw was needed, which seemed like great service, until only glasses and a cork screw were delivered to room with no wine at 8:45pm. Called front desk and explained wine was not delivered. Wine delivered at 9:50pm. Wedding in temporary tent across from room provided live music to the entire resort until 1am. 11am check out, but knock at 10am - room to improve

We take great joy in hosting anniversary retreats, and we thank you both for settling in with us. As your comments suggest, we have not been immune to colleagues being out of work for health reasons and the recruitment challenges, and it sounds like we were understaffed on the day of your arrival. We loved the property and the facilities. The only thing we would change is there needs to be microwaves in the rooms. We absolutely loved our room looking over the water watching the dolphins from our balcony every morning and evening was great.

While we were there it was their off season. The resort wasn’t busy at all and that was so nice. Wyatt, a server at the pool, was fantastic. The food and amenities were a bit pricey but we expected that. Overall the staff was very attentive. We loved it there.

This property was beautiful and there was soo much to do! We loved walking around, enjoying the dolphins and scenery. We also loved laying by the pool and looking out at the water, while enjoying the tiki bar. Beaches were beautiful as well and not crowded at all. Food and service was great. We had a harbor view room and loved it! We would definitely stay here again!!

I was expecting a little bit more from the resort being that it was pricey and supposed to be one of the best ones there but mostly everything on site was closed which was disappointing and there really wasn’t much to do. There was one bar associate that was extremely miserable and was rude but other then that the rest of the crew were nice and helpful. The room was nice and the view was gorgeous we saw some dolphins from our room.

I didn't like the fact that you couldn't use cash or a credit card to pay for anything at the resort. You had no idea what things cost and I think that is unfair. I also had no change to give people tips at times. The floor in our condo was so dirty that our feet were black. Other than that, it was a nice place but I don't know if I will return. Having to take a trolley every where was a bit much.
