There was a double booking which I am happy to say hardly ever happens however we put them in a private en suite room as our family rooms were not available and already had guests in them and when they did not like that, the following day when we arrived at work we offered them our most beautiful deluxe spacious room which they did not like. They were never kicked out. In fact they spent the whole day on our veranda until they decided to leave. We then presumed they had made alternative arrangements and most definitely we would not have put them out on the streets.

Thank you so much for your review. Our hostel prides itself on our responsibility to the planet in general and Cape Town in particular. We had a drought last year which now thankfully has broken however we are constantly reminded that looking after clean water is something we will always have to do to ensure fresh water for future generations.We have been told by many guests that when they go home they will adopt some of our water saving methods. Our buffet breakfast consists of porridge, cereal, croissants, bread - white and brown either cheese or eggs, fresh tomatoes, jams, peanut butter and fresh fruit. The Backpack Team

Thank you for the nice review. But we are sorry that you found the location mediocre and noisy. If we new in which room you were in, we could perhaps deal with the noise problem so it would not occur in the future.

Thank you for your review. We were having issues with our wifi however it has now been sorted out. We have a BBQ here once a week usually on a Tuesday night, games night on a Friday and Sunday nights movies and popcorn and of course anything sport is shown on our big screen especially football, rugby and cricket and any other special sporting events. We have to leave some nights open to explore our fun city so sorry if your stay did not coincide with one of these days. The Backpack Team

We do ask that food not be taken into the rooms but left in the containers in the kitchen so not to attract insects. We are so happy you enjoyed our delicious and quiet rooms and that you liked the fact that we made your bed every day! the Backpack Team
