We had a lovely stay in Matlacha and really appreciated several aspects of the property that made our visit enjoyable.
Highlights:
The heater worked perfectly, which was a huge plus, and the shower provided consistent hot water. We loved having access to the BBQ and appreciated that kayaks were readily available. The option to swim or enjoy a fire added to the overall charm and made it easy to imagine how special this place is during warmer weather.
Things to note:
We happened to visit during an unusually cold spell, one of the coldest Florida has seen in many years, so we weren’t able to fully enjoy the outdoor amenities as much as we would have liked. That said, this was purely weather-related and no fault of the property.
Inside the unit, we noticed what appeared to be mold on the shower ceiling, which may be worth checking on. The space for getting ready was a bit limited, particularly for hair and makeup, and the bathroom sink was on the smaller side, though the storage behind the mirror was helpful. We were also on the ground level in Angels Den 5, and there was some noticeable noise from upstairs neighbors. Lastly, the bed and couch were less comfortable than expected, as both had some sinking that made relaxing after long days a bit challenging.
Overall, this property has so much potential. With a few thoughtful upgrades, especially to comfort and maintenance, it could be an even more wonderful stay. We’d happily return and would gladly pay a bit more for a slight
