Five Minute Walk to the Beach Sleeps 11

Located in the gated community of Marina Village, this updated home is close to everything - private community beach, shopping, marinas, restaurants, wedding venues, golf, and parks. It’s not often you get to take your pick between golf on a Nicklaus or Palmer course, two of the biggest names in golf. 27 fairways wind through some of the most scenic holes found in Eastern Virginia. Aside from the fairways and greens, though, there are miles and miles of walking and biking trails that provide full access to the gorgeous views and vistas throughout the community.

New for 2022! Rent the Sand Dollar Activities Package! Package includes: Kayak, Bicycles, Beach Chairs, Beach Wagon and New 2021 Six Person Electric Golf Cart. It makes getting to the beach and into town a breeze! The Activities Package which includes the Golf Cart is offered at $550 per week and seats six adults comfortably.

Bay Creek’s award-winning golf experience is the first in the United States to feature Signature® courses from two of the top names in golf—Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer. Golf Digest has consistently named our courses among the best in the state, while Golf World ranked Bay Creek 12th in its list of top golf resorts in America.

The master bedroom and large guest room are situated on the entry level floor each with direct access to the deck. There is also a tiled foyer, full hallway bath, and laundry room to make coming back from a day at the beach a breeze. Full two car garage with access to an ocean kayak, beach chairs, beach toys, gas grill and a 4 person Bicycle perfect for the short trip to the beach or take it to town.

The main floor layout is very open including a large center island kitchen fully stocked for all of your culinary needs. The house can seat 12 for dinner: 8 at the dining room table and four in the kitchen. The main level also includes a spacious living room with sectional sofa, large flat screen TV, and large sun deck perfect for happy hour.

The third floor is fondly called the Osprey Nest and boasts a full wet bar with mini fridge, table for four perfect for a card game or board game after dinner, and a large pull out sofa. Take in the water views from here or enjoy a quiet space to read your favorite book.

Owners are members of Bay Creek Country Club. Renters have access to the private gym, outdoor pools with water slide, private beaches and renowned golf course (additional fees for gym, golf, and pool do apply per Bay Creek).

Linens, pillows, and bath towels are included at no extra charge. Guests are asked to please bring their own beach towels.

Fully stocked kitchen and gas grill (propane provided).

High Speed Wifi provided through Spectrum. Cable TV.

No pets, no smoking.

Attending a wedding at The Oyster Farm / King's Creek Marina? This is one of the closest rental homes to the wedding venue. Located just adjacent to Oyster Farm / King's Creek Marina for a quick walk or golf cart ride.

A refreshing time away

We were so impressed with this home! It's bigger than it looks in photos (always a great surprise) and easily accommodated my family of 7 plus my two parents. We enjoyed cooking, eating inside or out depending on the weather; the kitchen was fully stocked and had ample seasonings and dishes/bake ware. We loved the kids' room and the third floor "osprey lookout!" We would definitely recommend adding the activities package - how wonderful to have the golf cart and bikes / paddleboards right there and not having to worry about an additional rental. We so enjoyed our visit to Cape Charles and would love to return! (Also, the driveway for this home is excellent and easily fit 3 SUVs which is key when the neighborhood doesn't allow street parking). Thank you for a great experience!

Everything We Needed

4 nights stay, 6 adults, one toddler. The house is WELL equipped with everything, and more, that was needed for our stay! Plenty of space for our group. Having the option for renting the golf cart on-site is a NO brainer! The owners were immediately responsive to any questions we had during our stay. One thing to keep in mind, if you are looking for pool or gym access, that is not directly in the neighborhood, but a short car drive away.

August in Cape Charles

This was our third summer staying in Cape Charles and we loved the Sand Dollar. It has plenty of amenities for adults and kids (tv, games, Jacuzzi, outdoor seating, etc.) We love walking down to the beach for sunsets, it's never crowded and there is always interesting stuff to find. Jason and Melisa were great hosts and communicators, they provided all the essentials we needed for our stay. We highly recommend staying here or at least in the Marina Village.

Enjoyed our stay!

This is a lovely house close to Oyster Farm Eatery and the north beach. There were four of us so plenty of room. The primary room on the first floor was very spacious with its own bathroom. It has a queen size bed. The second bedroom on the first floor also has a queen size bed and a bathroom right around the corner. On the main level, there’s a kitchen, dining room, living room, bedroom with two twin beds and a bathroom. We enjoyed sitting on the deck off the dining room. It was relaxing and had a view of the bay. The living room was also very cozy. We used the grill one night but primarily ate out. The kitchen has a drip coffee maker and a Keurig. There was plenty of dishes, glasses, utensils and cookware. They also had spices, etc. to share. We rented their golf cart. You definitely need a golf cart in Cape Charles. It’s fun and easy to get around. It was nice having this option. We enjoyed walking around the marina. The houses are so vibrant. I love all of the fun colors! We used the public beach and Bay Creek’s south beach. There is a project underway to look into work on the north beach over at the marina. It’s still a beautiful view of the bay. There’s just more room over at the public beach with less seaweed. Plus, food trucks and walking to Brown Dog Ice Cream! The public beach is maybe a 5 minute drive (possibly less) and walkable if you don’t have a lot to carry.

Family beach trip

What a perfect beach getaway this rental property was! The Sand Dollar package was so much fun with the four-man bike and the convenient six person golf cart. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed and very comfortable. Our family of seven stayed there with all different age ranges, and everyone had a wonderful time. We especially loved the crow’s nest views! The neighborhood and vicinity to everything was very accessible. Thanks again for a great trip!

Cape Charles getaway

The property was in a great location. We have been to Cape Charles a few times and loved being a block from the private beach. The owners were very responsive to questions. We would stay at this property again. The additional cost to have a golf cart for the week was also very convenient. We didn’t move our car the whole week.

Great Space for Weekend Wedding Getaway

Our stay in Cape Charles was fantastic, and this house was perfect for our group of 6 for a long weekend wedding experience! There is ample space, quality amenities to go along with a well-equipped house, beautiful views, and the Sand Dollar Activities Package is a must(it includes the golfcart, kayak, and beach accessories). We would recommend for any group or family gathering in the Cape Charles area!

Cape Charles is lovely. Rental needs updates

We enjoyed Cape Charles! We did rate this 4 stars due to the cleanliness upon arrival. It’s not fun cleaning while you arrive because the cleaners didn’t do their job well yet still had to pay our full cleaning fee. Dust in every area you can see plus in windows/ blinds. There was also dog food in the kitchen in a bowl with dirty water that my toddler got to. The owners were quick at every response but very short in reply when I questioned our fee which was offsetting. Blinds in one bedroom downstairs were also broken, walls were incredibly dirty and should be repainted. It definitely felt like a rental vs a vacation home. Also if you’re driving I encourage you to try to bring your own pillows and mattress pads, all the beds were extremely hard and pillows were non existent - so so bad. Even my kids who are ages 6, 9 complained. It’s the little things that the owners should really invest in to make this more comfortable. Location is incredible, loved the gated community feel, golf cart was a must as we barely used our own car and everyone uses them in town. Overall besides the cleanliness and beds it was a good stay. I’ll be back to cape Charles!

Great property!

We loved this house and the location! The golf cart was a fun bonus, although the bikes need a little tuning up! The interior was spacious and had everything we needed! It wasn’t as clean as we would have liked, but it may not have been used for some time before us. Owners were very helpful and responsive to any issues!

Great Location

We love Cape Charles and this home is in the perfect location to not only enjoy the town, but to also have the privacy of a gated community. Everything was made simple by the hosts who were both extremely communicative and thoughtful. The Osprey’s Nest in the home boasts beautiful sunset views and the home is very spacious between the main floor and a ton of deck space. We recommend a stay at the Sand Dollar for active families and Cape Charles for beach/bay lovers!

Fully equipped home with great location!

Really enjoyed our stay and the home exceeded our expectations. The house was fully equipped with everything you would need for a week in Cape Charles. Location is great and access to Bay Creek amenities is key. Owners were very responsive and accommodating. I would recommend this home to friends and family.

Good for families wanting a quiet bay experuence

This home is spacious, clean and well equipped. The description exaggerates the positive a bit which led to a few disappointments. “5 min walk to beach” is a tiny beach pretty full of seaweed so you wouldn’t want to swim much. The larger public beach is a short drive. Main resort is a few miles away, not where the house is. We were not allowed to use the fancier pool with water slide as advertised but instead a nice secondary pool in the development,. Did get a few hours at the big pool because the people at the door couldn’t resist my granddaughter’s pleading face when denied access to the water slide. Four person bike had a flat tire so we couldn’t use it. Definitely get the golf cart as it adds to the fun of traveling within the development and the town. Overall we were underwhelmed with Cape Charles area, and the house was nice but overpriced.

Not the best stay

Checking in and communication with the owners was easy. Cleanliness was not up to standards. Hair in the bathrooms, hair on the sheets and stains, the Yale door lock batteries were low ( the owner knew this) and eventually died. I called the owner twice and finally received a call back. I was told that the lock batteries would be replaced the next day but for now, the neighborhood is safe so leave the door unlocked.

Perfect quiet spring break
