About the location:
Welcome to our Royal Gorge Retreat! Experience nature's beauty at our home by the park within walking distance of everything. Directly across the street from the beautiful Centennial Park (50ft), The Royal Gorge Route Railroad (900ft) and the Arkansas River (600ft). Full kitchen, 1 bdrm, 1 bath. Relaxing outdoor space to enjoy after a long day at the river, biking, hiking, and exploring the Royal Gorge Region. Step outside, and you'll find yourself surrounded by beautiful trees.

The space:
Inside our home, you'll discover a warm and cozy cabin-like, well-appointed space designed to ensure your comfort. We've created inviting outdoor areas where you can enjoy the natural setting. Lounge on the front or side porch, to sip your morning coffee or simply enjoy the setting with visits from hummingbirds, and our friendly neighbors, the deer.

Access to Water Activities:
With access to the river, you can indulge in a variety of water-based activities such as kayaking, white water rafting, fishing, or simply dipping your toes in the refreshing water.

Proximity to Local Attractions:
We're conveniently close to local attractions. Explore nearby hiking trails, The Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, The Royal Gorge Route Railroad, Centennial Park (includes open space, riverwalk, river access, picnic areas, duck pond, splash pad, playground, tennis courts, basketball courts), and main street Cañon City with lots of cute shops, fun restaurants and coffee shops — all within easy reach.
Whether you're seeking a peaceful retreat, or a solo or family adventure, our home near the river, trails, park, and the Royal Gorge is the perfect stay.

Guest access:
The entrance is in the back of the home at the carport, with keyless access.

Other things to note:
In addition to the king size bed and single bunk bed, a sofa bed and a rollaway bed are also available.

We loved our stay here. Pictures don’t do it justice! It was so cute and fun. We loved being in walking distance to the train station, downtown and the park. The bed was really comfortable as well and the kitchen well stocked. We would definitely stay here again.

This house is so cute and the host was very timely with all responses. The house had a nice outside space and lots of room inside to relax. The host thought of absolutely everything when stocking the house for our stay and the decorations were nice. The view of the park and mountains is spectacular and so close a drive to the Royal Gorge. I would stay here again.

Royal Gorge Retreat was perfect! My family of 3 enjoyed our stay, the park and splash pad across the street was very helpful for our toddler. The house was very nice and cozy, and had everything we needed to make breakfast & dinner. The owners put much thought and love into their home for guests to be comfortable. Loved it and will definitely be back someday.

There was a break down in communication as to who was to give us the code for the door. I had to call the owner to get the code when we arrived.The Retreat was very well appointed. We liked the location within walking distance of the River Walk and the Train Station. We enjoyed our stay.

**5 Stars – A Wonderful Stay at Royal Gorge Retreat**We recently spent 3 nights at the Royal Gorge Retreat and had an absolutely wonderful time. Our hosts, Mikel and Veronica, were warm and welcoming, and made our stay especially enjoyable.The property itself is beautiful — the landscaping and outdoor spaces are thoughtfully maintained and perfect for relaxing. We especially loved enjoying our morning coffee on the deck, soaking in the peaceful surroundings.Inside, the home is just as lovely — if not even better. Every detail was clean, comfortable, and inviting, making it a great spot to unwind after exploring the area.We highly recommend this property to any small group visiting the region. If we’re ever back in the area, we’ll definitely be staying here again.Thank you, Veronica and Mikel, for a wonderful stay and sharing your property with us!

Perfect location

This was located directly across the street from a nice playground and splash pad. The river was also there where you could borrow life jackets and float along the river. The house was very clean and well stocked! The yard was cozy with lots of seating areas, flowers and fruit trees. We even had a deer in the yard one evening! Easy check in and out and great communication with the owners! Would definitely recommend and would stay there again!

The Royal Gorge Retreat was the perfect home for our family! When we're away, we need a space that feels like a home-away-from-home, where the kids can get some down time, we can make home-made meals, and separate spaces are available for separate needs (nappers, readers, workers, watchers). The RG retreat had it all - it was stocked and ready for us just as our home is, yet had just enough character to feel really special. In addition to it being conveniently located by the RG train station, it's also directly across the street from a large park with a playground, splash pad, and a great field for tossing a frisbee - a definite plus for us all. The yard is beautiful and its own retreat - so much so that we even had a couple deer come join us to lounge in the yard. Thank you Mikel and Veronica for a lovely stay!

Convient Location

The house was a good home base for our outings around Royal Gorge. It was clean and as listed, although the yard could use a little sprucing up and the pull out sofa is not comfortable (not just the mattress but it's not as wide as the sofa itself, so there's a gap where you feel like you might fall into the metal mechanisms). All in all, a fine place to stay if you need a home base, and clean, but nothing spectacular.

Everything was perfect. Highly recommend!

Amazing place to stay! Super cozy location, our family loved the location’s proximity to the playground and train ride. Veronica and Mikel were very communicative and kind. Fantastic hosts. The property was very beautiful, clean, comfortable, and quickly felt like home. We especially appreciated how accommodating and considerate Veronica and Mikel were, even providing toys for our 3-year-old to play with. Highly recommend. We would absolutely stay here again! Beautiful Cabin

We really liked the cleanliness of the cabin and our stay was so easy because of the communication from the wonderful host. The location was awesome as well we walked to get on the train and the park was so beautiful across the street. The river was so relaxing to walk by from the cabin as well.

It worked perfectly for us and was very comfortable and was very well outfitted in the kitchen. Our only minor complaint would be the master bed with a bunk bed above. Kind of un unusual but it worked. communication with the hosts was fantastic so if you had any issue or question, you got an answer immediately.

Working in Colorado

This place was awesome. I was in Colorado working and came upon this place. I am glad I chose to stay here. For the price, you can not beat it. Nice and cozy. Just across the road from an awesome park. I walked the park every morning and it was very relaxing. I strongly recommend anyone staying in the area consider staying here.

Cute little vintage cabin in Canyon City. Walking distance to river and historical downtown. Easy drives to white water rafting and Skyline Drive. Clean house, lots of yard. Had everything we needed for 2 night stay!

Great location, cute property

It was clean and comfortable and a short walk to the river and train boarding for the Royal Gorge train. Also walking distance to Downtown Cañon City. Overall very nice place and well cared for. One note, for two adults the bunk bed setup was not the most comfortable but it wasn't awful.

Wonderful dwelling

The park/duck pond was directly across the street and we had an awesome view of the mountains. The home was nice and we especially enjoyed the dining room. The yard was beautiful with a nice set up for enjoying the outdoors as well. Great location for heading to dinner or the mountains. I accidentally left my coat behind and the host got right back to me, and I was able to go pick it up. Would definitely book here again.
