Nestled in the picturesque countryside at the base of Mount Pisgah, just 15 minutes from the vibrant city of Asheville, Hominy Valley Cottage is your ideal retreat in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
This cute, custom-designed farmhouse offers a perfect blend of comfort, charm, and convenience, making it the ultimate base camp for exploring the area's attractions and natural beauty.
The Space:
Step inside to an inviting open concept living space, suitable for a couple or small group, that features a fully equipped kitchen and bar seating. Whether you’re preparing a homemade meal or enjoying takeout from a local restaurant, this space is perfect for gathering and dining.
Adjacent to the living space, the primary bedroom is your own cozy sanctuary adorned with a plush queen-size bed and tall windows that let in ample natural light during the day.
Ascend the quaint spiral staircase to the lofted open bedroom, where a queen-size bed awaits you. From here, gaze out the window to the south and spot the iconic peak of Mount Pisgah.
Back on the ground level, take a relaxing soak in the vintage clawfoot tub as you enjoy the rustic old-world vibe.
Swing open the french doors to the expansive 400 square foot covered patio, perfect for outdoor activity. Enjoy meals, grill out, play cornhole, or sip your morning coffee while sitting in a rocking chair.
Take in the front-row view of the Hominy Valley Singing Grounds, a beautiful open space that hosts occasional events and performances. On calm mornings, you may even spot hot air balloons launching from the grounds!
And after a full day of exploration, unwind and recharge in the private, covered hot tub, or gather around the firepit and enjoy the tranquility of the night among the fireflies. (Don't forget to bring some firewood!)
Arriving at the cottage, you’ll be treated to stunning views of Mount Pisgah and the surrounding Blue Ridge mountains.
One of the best things about our location is quick and easy access to both Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The cottage is situated directly on a popular road that leads into Pisgah National Forest and connects with the Blue Ridge Parkway in about 10 minutes.
Once on the Blue Ridge Parkway, head south a short distance and explore the famous hiking trails and incredible long-range views around Mount Pisgah summit. Or, grab a bite and soak-in the crisp mountain air at the one-of-a-kind Pisgah Inn, which has great food and even better views!
Heading north from the cottage gets you into all parts of Asheville within 15-20 minutes. Enjoy the city’s eclectic mix of art, culture, cuisine, and epic beer scene!
Other Things to Note:
The cottage has a short inclined gravel driveway that can accommodate all types of vehicles. The parking area at the top of the driveway has space for up to two vehicles.
The patio overlooks Pisgah Highway, a two-lane road connecting Asheville to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Passing cars can occasionally be heard inside the home, mostly during peak travel periods. Those disturbed by road noise should take this into account when considering this property. Sound machines are provided in each bedroom.
Guests visiting in winter and early spring should be aware that snow and/or ice can sometimes be present, so please plan accordingly. If you’re planning to take a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, be sure to check road conditions beforehand as high elevation sections of the Parkway can sometimes close due to weather / ice.
