Mooie cottage in een prachtige omgeving
De cottage is ruim, sfeervol ingericht en van alles voorzien. Er is geen WiFi of bereik dus alle gelegenheid om tot rust te komen in een prachtige omgeving. Mooie wandelingen gemaakt en veel gelezen. Er liggen overigens ook veel dvd’s in het huisje. Bij de gastheer/gastvrouw kun je terecht voor alle vragen en tips. Wij hebben een heerlijke week gehad.

Blissful Rest and Relaxation time with the family
Margaret and Ian were fabulous - the cottage was just beautiful. Unplugging and having a digital detox was just what our family needed. Our dogs loved the walks on the doorstep, and the highland cows were perfect neighbours.

A lovely break in Kintyre
We enjoyed a wonderful break at Auchnabreac. Margaret and Iain were so welcoming and helpful and the property is a delight. It is a lovely peaceful location. Nearby beaches are beautiful and were much loved by our dog. We enjoyed visiting the distilleries in Campbeltown, a trip to Gigha and a boat trip with Mull of Kintyre Sea Adventures.

Perfect Stay
Lovely stay in the remoteness of Kintyre. Iain and Margaret were perfect hosts and we had the opportunity to spend time with them in their home and also with Iain looking at the wildlife. The cottage is perfect for exploring the area and it was beautifully equipped. Thank you very much.

The best holiday EVER!!!
Our hosts, Margaret and Iain could not have been friendlier and their knowledge of their home, surrounding areas and Scotland was second to none. The converted cowshed we stayed in adjacent to their farmhouse was charm personified. The amenities were faultless, the condition and cleanliness of the cottage was five star. The view is breathtaking and the Scottish hospitality was like nothing my husband and I have experienced anywhere else. We are already booking to go back and will do for as long as they will have us.

Puur natuur en fantastische gastvrijheid
Warm en persoonlijk welkom. Een nog warm eigen gebakken brood en verse bloemen stonden klaar. Het huis was brandschoon. Margaret en Iain waren een fantastische gastvrouw en gastheer. We kregen zelfs verse canterellen uit het bos. Iain liet ons mooie wandelingen zien, langs de velden met schapen, door het bos, langs de rivier. Onze hond Sibbe (Onion) heeft ook genoten! Van de plek, en van hun lodgerhond Breagh! Onvergetelijke tijd gehad, weg van alle drukte, midden in de natuur. Dank!!

Quiet and peaceful cottage
This is a must to get away from the rat race, the hosts Maggie and Iain were both wonderful. The cottage has everything you need for time away from the humdrum of everyday life. There is no phone signal or Internet at the cottage so do all your research before you go. Maggie and Iain were kind enough to book us a meal and offered to allow us use of the phone if we needed to check in with a loved one. I would definitely recommend

Außergewöhnlich schöner Urlaub
Wir haben im Juli zwei sehr schöne Wochen im Cottage von Iain und Margaret verbracht. Das Haus ist sehr liebevoll und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Von Auchnabreac kann man wunderschöne Ausflüge machen. Iain und Margaret sind tolle Vermieter, mit denen wir gerne die Abende verbracht haben.

Lovely dog friendly cottage in remote location
Wonderful cottage in a remote valley. The owners ( Ian and Margaret) made us very welcome and we're happy to share their knowledge of the local area. Secure enclosed garden andmiles of walks from the front door made this a brilliant holiday for our dog and us.

Excellent property for a true get away from it all holiday
We loved this property. It has recently been renovated and is now able to accommodate 4 people. There is an open plan kitchen/diner/lounge, a separate double bedroom and a separate shower room (with basin and loo) on the ground floor. The shower is brilliant and we had plenty of warm water. There is a twin bedroom with an ensuite basin and loo, on the first floor, with outstanding views. All the rooms are a good size with lovely views, for decor, think scandi meets traditional Scotland! Overall it is extremely clean and tidy and well thoughtout. The kitchen has a good oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer, There are loads of cupboards filled with everything you could wish for, even a slow cooker! There is a warming log burner in the lounge to snuggle up to, and the owners will give you extra logs (for a few pounds) if you want a few more fires. Outside there is an enclosed garden, which our two little dogs loved. There are loads of walks literally from the cottage and the owners are full of ideas of where to go. When we were there the fields of full of tiny lambs, so sweet! We used the cottage as a marvellous base for visiting Islay and Arran and its easy to book the ferries. And of course no visit is complete without going to the tip of the Mull of Kintyre! We went in May and luckily did not encounter the midges!!! The cottage is remote but you never feel isolated as the owners are always on hand with advice and friendly banter. There are lots of compliments about the owners in the Visitors Book and we could only agree with their generous comments about both the cottage and owners. If you want a home from home holiday, filled with all the comforts of media, then its probably not for you, but if you love living the outdoor life, happy to live without your tv programmes and Facebook etc then this property is excellent. We would give it 10/10. There is also plenty of wild life to see both in the mountains and on the coast. Margaret makes an excellent bread loaf and if you love creamy milk ask her to leave you some milk from the Island of Gigha, it is amazing. We have no hesitation about recommending this property, Margaret is a good communicator so if you have any questions just ask. Enjoy!!

Getting away from it all

A most welcoming retreat
This is the most perfect retreat. A lovely secluded spot and a beautifully appointed cottage with so much attention to detail. Everything seems to have been thought of to create such a relaxing space with all the facilities you will ever need. Ian and Margaret were most welcoming, attentive and generous throughout our stay. The tour of Ian’s workshops is a must.

A Unique Retreat
Faultless! A beautiful comfortable cottage with everything one could possibly need and hosted by a wonderful couple who go above and beyond to make the stay memorable. The scenery is spectacular and the peace and ambience is second to none. Highly recommended!

Excellent Cottage

Stunning Cottage surrounded by beautiful scenery
We’re just home from a wonderfully peaceful holiday staying at this beautiful cottage feeling rested and recharged! Best quality holiday accommodation we’ve ever stayed in. The stunning scenery, the farm animals, the birds outside your window, beautiful Breagha the Lurcher and most of all the wonderful Margaret and Iain, who go above and beyond with their immaculate presentation and thoughtful welcome gifts, they’re on hand with lots of advice and recommendations including local stunning forest walks and lovely places to eat. A definite highlight was our forest dog walk with Iain.. magic!!

Lovely holiday cottage
Super stay at a lovely cottage. Everything you need for a comfortable stay and more. The cottage itself is pretty and nicely decorated - not to mention spotless. Beds were extremely comfortable- rare for holiday let’s! Hosts are great - friendly and approachable - knowledgeable about the area and happy to share expertise and also happy to leave you alone to get on with your holiday. A great experience.

Tranquility
Lovely relaxing break with everything just perfect. Margaret and Iain provided excellent information and advice when needed and were the perfect hosts. From the homemade scones on arrival to the relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed the woodland walks from the cottage, the local beaches and trips to Our favourite spot Macrahanish. The cottage was very well equipped, comfortable and cosy, we loved watching the birds and. wildlife too. I’m sure we will be back sometime soon. A great find Many thanks

Fantastic relaxing break *****
We had a fantastic 8 days at this beautiful, tranquil cottage. The hosts were fabulous, making us feel very very welcome from the moment we arrived- also taking time to chat, give advice on where to visit and making sure we had everything we need. Great location for exploring the region, and our 8- year old daughter had a great time watching the neighbours (sheep and highland cattle), as well as picking fresh strawberries each day. The cottage was very comfortable, with everything you need 'a home from home'. We will definitely be back to stay! Lisa & Stuart *****

Amazing!
Stunning property with absolutely everything you could need. Everything is exceptionally high quality and beautifully decorated. Super comfy beds! Log burner and plenty of books, games, dvds etc to keep everyone happy. We stayed six nights. Set in stunning scenery right next to the river with an outdoor firepit, and picnic table ke. The hosts were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble and excellent company. I can't speak highly enough of the whole experience.

Absolutely gorgeous.
This property is just stunning. A refurbished barn finished to the highest standard and set in the most tranquil and beautiful countryside. Everything you could need is supplied right down to the bath robes. A bottle of wine, homemade scones and biscuits for the dogs were laid out for our arrival....a lovely welcoming touch. Margaret and Iain could not have been more welcoming and accommodating throughout our short stay. We and our two dogs had the best time and we plan to return very soon.

Attentive without being intrusive
Iain and Margaret are brilliant hosts. From the very welcome G and T when we arrived to making sure the fire was lit and there was a light on when we got back late, they looked after us like family. The location is beautiful and the cottage cosy, comfortable and well equipped. Book it if you can.
