Firstly we had requested a twin room but got a double. The room was dirty and extremely shabby, I have taken pictures to verify this. We were only staying one night so didn't complain. The girl working in the bar was lovely and breakfast was really nice with a great selection & once again our server was great. I would not book to stay here again unfortunately

Excellent and friendly people.Made my stay very easy.Central and impressive old building.great value for a night’s stay and included a very nice breakfast with excellent service.Friendly,homely and typical generous Scottish hospitality.

Not a great stay
Hotel smells of mold. Room was not very clean. Lighting in room was cold white LED. No remote for TV. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly.

Traditional B and B with a few antiques scattered around. Has a lovely wee pub downstairs well used by locals which has pool and a Duke box with libbuc at the weekends. The room was clean, had a decent mattress, warm bedding, bath and shower, decent size towel provided and a reasonable size flat screen TV on the wall. Plenty of storage and hangers. Now for the best stuff. The food, available in the bar or bistro next door at very reasonable prices it is fresh and plentiful and breakfast was also excellent and served in the chic but cosy wee bistro attached to the B and B. Staff were all efficient and welcoming with a warm easy manner. We will be back and the surrounding village of Callander with the Trossach hills rising around it is stunning. We came away feeling just as one should after a wee break. Rested and positive.

Unfortunate experience
Unfortunately our stay in Dalgair House 11th November was a disappointment. It was the start of our holiday in Scotland and we had a long journey on the following day to the north of the country. We did not get a wink of sleep until after 1.00 am as there was a thundering and loud disco/live music/juke box immediately under our bedroom. The heating was switched off during the night although the temperature was -2 degrees on Sunday morning. We would have appreciated been told about the loud music. We thought that Dalgair House was a small hotel but it seems it is a tavern with rooms upstairs. Very unpleasant stay.

I'm sorry you did not have a great stay.Unfortunately you have waited until review to let us know so we could not do anything about it.The heating in the hotel goes off between 2am and 5 am currently and we have had no complaints from anyone else.We advertise everywhere on our social media and recorded in multiple reviews that at the weekend we have fantastic live music and karaoke events. This is the reason why we are full every weekend of the year. If you had checked before hand we could have organised a room at the front of the hotel where there is no noise from the bar.

Nice hotel.
Nice hotel to stay in. Bed comfortable had a good sleep. Had dinner in the bistro, food was excellent and great service by Brian. Entertainment in the bar was good, great atmosphere. All in all well worth with price.

Trevlig personal. Rum väldigt olika … helt ok och några mindre bra. Väldigt smala sängar. Vi hade otur med vägarbete utanför men ingenting hotellet kan anklagas för.

Dalgair Hotel First Class.
Good welcom, Room excellent as was breakfasts and evening meals selection small but good choice, well cooked. Staff helpful and certainly gets my recommendation. First rate.

The hotel is old and the rooms are in dire need of refurbishment BUT the food (chef) is excellent and the receptionist?owner?evening waiter was great which surely makes up for some of the hotels shortcomings.

All was great other then they had me pay another £20 when I arrived because their was 2 adults. With a double bed I would assume that's double occupancy!

What a silly review!You booked bed and breakfast for 1 person which it clearly stated on your and my documents.You bring an extra person and expect to get full Scottish breakfast and his use of our facilities for free??I gave you a 10 discount on the rate for 2 people and you still turn into a keyboard warriorReviews are to assist future guests get an understanding of what to expect, not for you to air your booking mistake.

We stayed for one night at this property, why this is rated only 2 star seems very unfair 4star would be more appropriate We had a great stay, food was delicious,had a few drinks in the bar, met some friendly locals & Aaron the barman was top class. We will be returning, really good value for money

Too noisy. They were celebrating 20 years of business with a party. We did not find this out until day before our stay which was too late to cancel. Noise didn't settle down until 3.15 when people got settled into their rooms. Very little sleep. Would advise property if hosting late parties not to have other guests staying.

Apologies that we had our 20 years in the hospitality trade on the day of your visit. We did post it out on the Hotels media 2 weeks before.I can confirm the live music, as is all our live music was on until midnight and the bar was closed and all residents in their rooms by 1.15 and not 3.15 as you state.For other guests wishing to stay please note we are a very busy venue and at weekends we are well known for excellent live music.6 of our rooms are quiet but 2 rooms are above the bar and not a good option for an early night.

Comfortable and quaint
We found our accomodations very comfortable. We ate some of our meals in the bar and they were delicious. The evening entertainment in the pub and bistro were both very enjoyable. The only complaint I have is the noise from pub patrons smoking area but I have no idea how they would address that.

There was no karaoke on the night of your stay it was an excellent singer who was contracted and sang between 9 and 12.As assistance for guests, we do have 2 rooms above the bar and Fri and Sat we play live music.Please request a room at front of the hotel and depending on availability we will try and get you a quiet room.Thanks

Great stay
On the main street with parking at the back. Clean room. Small heater adequate for heating the room. All staff friendly. Choice of restaurant the bistro has excellent food, a bit different and pricier or the bar which does bar food. We ate in the bistro both nights. Well worth it.

Nice hotel but too noisy at night with the people from the bar at the smoking area til 1am, so trying to sleep was difficult after being tired out from walking all day.

Cosy, comfy, friendly, and affordable.
We needed a cheap place to sleep over to avoid a snowstorm on the way back home to the Scottish highlands. We were looking for something budget and this fitted the bill. Fabulously comfy bed and central location. Breakfast is included, and we had juice, cereal, or cooked breakfast, and a big pot of hot, steaming fresh coffee included in the price of the room. It’s not very stylish or trendy and the decor is a little bit “aunty Morag’s house meets 80’s Blackpool guest house”. A lot of crushed velvet. Bathroom a bit tatty, but clean. The bed was gorgeous and squishy. It’s great for a stopover on long drives. Bang in the middle of town with free parking on the doorstep. Yes it could do with a refurb, but then it wouldn’t be this cheap. Will highly recommend. Thanks for a warm, cosy stay
