Jolie maison, très belle vue et piscine très bien entretenue. Mais problème avec les douches souvent de l'eau froide d'un seul coup et la terrasse autour de la piscine avait plusieurs lames cassées et enfoncées.

Good house but needs some maintenance

The house is good, well located and has a stunning view. However, the property needed some maintenance and was not well equiped. For example, the flooring of the porch was damaged, the dishwasher was not working, the house was smelling damp, etc. We contacted the property manager to let him know about these issues and he was extremelly dilligent and immediatly fixed most of the issues (kudos). In the end we had a good stay, yet it could have been execellent if these issues had been solved before our arrival.

No lo hemos disfrutado

Cabe destacar que parte de la experiencia no es achacable al alojamiento, si no a las lluvias y frío de semana santa. Pero otras si que podrían haber estado mejor. No puedo recomendar este alojamiento si hace frío, ya que no está climatizada y las dos estufas son insuficientes para dos plantas. Además, hemos hechado en falta algo más de ropa de abrigo para las camas. En cuanto a limpieza fue bastante decepcionante, la casa tenía olor a cerrado y el interior de los muebles, los sofás y alfombras estaban sucios, por poner un ejemplo, preferimos mantener la ropa en las maletas y la comida en una mesa auxiliar en lugar de usar armarios. Además, no había útiles de limpieza, salvo una aspiradora estropeada, que nos cambiaron a mitad de visita. Si tengo que decir que los baños y la cocina comedor(salvo armarios) estaban limpios. Faltaban cosas como la cafetera de las fotos o los aparatos de gimnasia y una de las dos televisiónes no funcionaba. Una pena, porque con algo más de detalle en la puesta a punto y equipamiento habría sido un alojamiento muy chulo.

Stunning view; wonderful house needs a little TLC

We stayed at Villa Foz for nine nights, there were 10 of us ranging in age from 2- 65. I would say a car is essential as everything is at least a 10 minute drive away with the bigger supermarkets being about 15 minutes away. You can walk to the beach and to Foz but this takes about an hour. The Villa is beautiful, in a quiet street of 4 houses. The view is amazing and overlooks the lagoon; the photos really don’t do the views justice. The house is spacious with a fantastic range of bedrooms; the front two over looking the lagoon. The main bathroom and master bedroom en-suite were both a good size, although you can’t use both showers at once with out loosing water pressure so this took a bit of planning! The kitchen and dining area are both well equipped and a nice bottle of red wine was left for our arrival. The pool is lovely; perfect for the age of the children with us. It is entirely open so children really do need constant supervision. You can also access the garden/ pool from the road. The paving is very uneven around the pool so a lot of trip hazards to be mindful of. The BBQ area is not as pictured but perfectly satisfactory. There is only one outdoor table and chairs which is situated on the porch balcony area; nice enough but cushions would’ve been good. You will need plenty of insect repellent of an evening. The table tennis table as listed was unusable but this didn’t hinder our trip. Overall we had a wonderful time and would recommend if you had a car.

Una casa amplia, con vistas increíbles al mar y la laguna. Camas cómodas, buena ropa de cama y toallas. Quizás la limpieza no estaba muy bien y los útiles de cocina algo viejos. En general muy bien.

Lovely villa in beautiful area

We stayed here with extended family, inc children. Villa is in beautiful location, with great view of Obidos Lagoon. Quiet, safe area, walking distance to sailing school and nearest village. Bedrooms are lovely, roomy, with comfortable beds and the linen change halfway through was much appreciated. 3 bathrooms, well appointed. Kitchen is a little tired and could do with some new crockery and glasses but perfectly adequate. Lounge and dining room are lovely. Wifi throughout villa. Pool isn’t heated but a nice temperature. No fence or alarm so not suitable for children who can’t swim. Outside seating area is lovely with great views of the lagoon. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a restful, fun holiday in a beautiful area! Special thanks to Alison, property manager who sorted a few little issues quickly.

Great Villa!!!! Surfers & Kiters welcome

We really enjoyed our 10 days stay at the Villa Foz. With its elevated location it offers a great view over the Lagoa to the Atlantic Ocean. It‘s a 8min walk to the next surf lodge where you can borrow surf & kite equipment and even take lessons - all to fair prices. Good place to hang out as well and have some cerveja and good food. Foz do Arelho and the Atlantic Ocean is 4km run (good morning workout) or a 5min drive away. Take a visit to Óbidos and Peniche nearby as well - it‘s totally worth it!!! The villa is located in a quiet and clean neighborhood. It’s huge (enough for 8 adults and 2-3 kids) and provides a great home base for your activities. It was clean and comfortable, though it could use a little makeover here and there (few broken bulbs inside and outside the house, pool lightning, a few lose tiles inside the pool etc. - nothing really serious, no big deal). We are definitely coming back to Portugal and to the Lagoa area as we already miss the climate and the kindness of the Portuguese People. Thanks, Alison, for a smooth booking and handover experience and your kind assistance whenever we needed it.

Net niet..

We zijn tevreden over de locatie en wat het te bieden heeft. Het huis op zich was ok wat faciliteiten betreft maar heeft veel meer te bieden dan wat het nu is. Het was duidelijk dat het lange tijd dicht heeft gestaan en niet verlucht, de keuken en attributen waren niet proper, we hebben heel wat zaken afgewassen voor gebruik. De living of wat erin stond was of versleten of aftands en beperkt. Er zijn verschillende buiten eten, zitten mogelijkheden om een ganse dag mee te draaien met de zon maar door gebrek aan meubilair zeul je 3x per dag met een tafel en 8 stoelen om daar van te genieten. Dit pand verdient veel beter en zou absoluut goed zijn mits de nodige aanpassingen. Jammer, voor ons toch wel een teleurstelling.

Gute und schlechte Aspekte, deswegen eine mittelmäßige Bewertung

Positiv: Die Lage ist toll, die Aussicht fantastisch, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants sind in der Umgebung und es gibt viele Ausflugsmöglichkeiten. Die Bucht ist sehr schön und das Haus von der Größe und der Aufteilung her prima. Allerdings bestehen Mängel in der Betreuung des Hauses. Die Auflagen für die Stühle haben wohl draußen gelegen und waren nicht sehr ansehnlich, sondern muffig und gammelig. Die Auflagen für die Poolliegen waren zwar in ausreichender Menge da, aber sehr schmuddelig und wohl lange nicht mehr getauscht bzw, gewaschen worden. Somit haben wir sie nicht benutzt. Das Haus war leider auch nicht gereinigt oder nur oberflächlich. Überall lagen Haare und Fusseln herum und einiges Geschirr mussten wir auch erstmal reinigen. Als wir saugen wollten, war der Staubsauger ziemlich schmutzig und total voll, als wäre er länger nicht gereinigt worden. Zudem ist es natürlich ärgerlich, wenn man bei Ankunft erstmal den groben Dreck wegputzen muss. Bezüglich des Zustands gäbe es noch mehr zu sagen. Es war nicht total schlecht, aber deutlich verbesserungsfähig. Das ist ein wenig schade, da es grundsätzlich ein schönes Haus in einer schönen ruhigen Lage ist.

Lovely villa in a beautiful location

Access off Rua das Cashinas on left after Monte Horeb restaurant. We went to the wrong house to start off with! Access road has deep ridge so watch you don't scrape your car. Arrived to a nice, clean villa with juice, water, milk, margarine, bread, ham, cheese, water, coffee, tea, wine & a store cupboard basics like oil, salt & pepper, herbs & spices to welcome us. Dishwasher tabs and laundry tabs left too plus some basic cleaning stuff. We had some minor issues with the outside lights and the pool but these were swiftly resolved after a text to the manager. There was plenty of room for our party of 10 (5 children, 5 adults). Beds were great. Towels provided. Well-equipped kitchen. Washing machine in the basement and retractable drying line at the side of the property (didn't discover this until the 2nd week). Could have done with a clothes basket to carry washing up. The games room comprises a table tennis table in the basement/garage. The wifi wasn't great which didn't bother me but may bother some. There is no air con but it was only 18 degrees at night so that was not an issue. Mosquitoes were a problem though so repellents are required. Linen and towels were changed for our second week but it would have been nice for the villa to have had a quick clean too. It's nice to be spoilt on holiday! The villa is 3 miles from the main beach and 2.5 miles from Foz so you need a car. We walked to the beach one day and it took us 45 minutes but was a pleasant walk on the top road with lovely views. We loved Foz. It has about 7 or 8 bars/restaurants at the beach (Taverna Ondas was our fave - fab prawns and the only place we found with vege burgers/sausages). Nice cocktails too. The bakery has great rolls and custard tarts. We tried a few restaurants in Foz itself. Tavola was nice (we ate in the back with the Portuguese which was great but there was only 1 waiter on so the service was very slow) but quite pricey compared to the others. Casa Madrugas serves amazing petiscos (tapas) and is so cheap. 90 euros for 10 of us with loads of food and drinks. Our favourite was Tibino - great food and cheeky banter from the waiter. You must book a few days ahead in high season. There are a couple of mini supermarkets and a couple more grocery shops selling everything from milk to malibu. There is a bank with a cashpoint. Caldas has Aldi, Lidl and Leclerc only 15 minutes away. Thank you Edwin family for a lovely holiday.

Great Villa for a family holiday in a beautiful part of Portugal.

We really enjoyed staying at Villa Foz we had everything we needed. Great Situation with fantastic views. David was excellent in sorting out a couple of issues. ~Would definitely recommend .

The property was spacious well equipped and very comfortable, very clean and well maintained.

This was a lovely home to stay in. When we arrived following an early flight we were welcomed with fresh rolls, cheese, milk which was very much appreciated. We really enjoyed our stay here. We were two families sharing and there was ample room and everything we could have needed for a comfortable stay. This house is very well equipped for eating at home,great barbecue and lots of outdoor seating with sheltered options if it gets a bit windy. It's also beautifully located with great views over the lagoon and easy access to Foz and all it has to offer. Even the fact that there was construction work underway in a nearby property didn't take from our stay here as the builders were very considerate and the owner gave us some great tips about where to go and to eat. Highly recommend the Snack Bar near Obidos, it's a gem. The sailing school,which is in walking distance of the property , rents kayaks etc, great way to spend a couple of hours out on the lagoon. Super friendly staff and great little cafe. There is lots to see and do in the area but if it all gets a bit much relaxing by the pool is a very pleasant option. I would highly recommend this property.

Nice villa with lovely views

This is a nice villa with plenty of space, reasonably well equipped although some of the furniture indoors is a little tired. Great barbecue area. The views across the lagoon are spectacular and we spent many relaxing hours by the pool or on the huge veranda. Lots to do in the area and lovely swimming in the lagoon at the beach down in Foz. The villa is in a residential area up the hill from the lagoon - the location shown on the map on the Homeaway website does not match where the villa actually is, and there are no restaurants or bars within walking distance. Very peaceful holiday though.

Very nice house - unfortunately with construction site in front

We stayed at Villa Foz for a week and really liked the house and the interior. However, unfortunately there was a construction site right in front of it which we were not made aware of. We had noise pollution some days from 7am until 8pm. The dust coming over from the site was even worse, as we were not able to let things dry outside and kept having to clean all the chairs and tables. I asked for a discount for the circumstances - until now without any luck :(

Nice house, but lacking in some areas (would give it 3.5 stars, but that isn't available)

Overall we enjoyed our holiday. The house was good in most aspects, but there was a lack of attention to detail.The pool is small and quite shallow compared to the impression given by the photos. It is not really suitable for anything other than a dip and messing around in. We were disappointed at the lack of information provided at the house. Most places have a folder with recommendations of restaurants and places to go. This place only had tourist information leaflets. We would have ended up missing some places if it hadn't been for the instructor from the surf school and checking out the web sites of other local holiday homes that had more information about place to go and things to do. It was also unclear as to who managed the house and who to contact if something went wrong. The woman we were given the details of seemed to think she was only to be contacted during standard working hours otherwise there was a charge. The owner said this wasn't true. Thankfully there was no reason to contact anyone, so we never found out. However, there were some problems with the house when we arrived - outdoor BBQ was dirty, washing line was broken (had to use a rickety clothes horse and buy our own pegs), filter cover at bottom of pool was broken and safe was locked and unusable. We reported these to the owner and woman, but none were fixed whilst we were there. I was told I could buy pegs and I would be reimbursed, but there seemed little point in claiming for a couple of Euros. We had no problems with broken sun loungers or the tennis table equipment (was this because we were there early in the season? - though that should make no difference as you pay the same regardless of whether it is July or August). However, there are only 8 dining chairs, so not enough for the 10 people the house sleeps. Plus the fridge was too small for us (5 adults). Not enough room for drinks and food unless you were always eating out and just wanted to keep a small supply. The area around the house is pleasant and the view from the balcony is great for sitting out and having a drink in the evening. It is too far to walk to restaurants etc., so you need to drive. We hired bikes, but it is quite hilly so you need to be reasonably fit. Foz is a nice place with some decent restaurants along the beach and one or two in the town. We would highly recommend the Surfing School as they obviously love what they do and are very helpful.

Nice accommodation

The villa is nice and has enough space for one or two families. It was clean, has a nice athmosphere and also the pool was in a very good condition. We actually missed some chairs or sun lounger at the pool and the balkony. We actually found some, but it seemed, that they were in a very "used" condition. The fittings in the bathroom and showers could also be updated to match the high standard of the whole villa. The location is fine and there is a nice view to the laguna and the atlantic. We would book the villa again and we can strongly recommend it for having a nice stay in Foz do Arelho. If the mentioned details would have been fixed, we'd rated the villa with five stars.
