We could write a book regarding our magical one-week stay at Domaine L'Ameillaud in August 2019. Maybe one day we will. For now, we can only attempt to describe what was the most memorable vacation of our lives (and we've taken many!).
The property is gorgeous. We would have our morning coffee/tea and basket of fresh croissants from the boulangerie in the open but private courtyard, which boasts a stunning view of the mountains with beautiful landscaping. Plenty of seats for everyone and a ping pong table for the kids. How many pictures can you take of a courtyard? Many,
I assure you. :)
The house itself is gorgeous and spacious to accommodate our two families. The bedrooms were airy and cool, beautiful tile floors, stunning armoirs, the showers had nice water pressure and the kitchen was very well-equipped.
Outside, there are no words to describe. Imagine you are surrounded by sunflower fields, grapes for miles, beautiful fruit trees, a stunning pool and a beautiful breeze. We had to pinch ourselves every day at the unsurpassed tranquility. I especially loved how the house was equipped to help us live out our dream come true. There were serving trays to bring fresh fruits, vegetables and cheese outside. The pool towels for all 8 of us were re were very well made. There were place mats and votives for lovely dining experiences outside. I even loved doing laundry at this property! There is a quaint clothes line to air dry clothes privately with olive trees in view, and ivy climbing all around the picturesque home. Every arched doorway and fountain on this property is Instagrammable.
We enjoyed open air markets, a lovely walk into Cairanne, a wonderful night out at the local restaurant. We visited old, medieval hilltop towns that dotted the mountainside.
Sabine and Nick were wonderfully gracious hosts and responded to every need. They truly seemed to care that our experience was lovely. We are so grateful and couldn't recommend this property enough.
For us, the time spent together as a family was everything we dreamed a Provencal vacation would be; and the location
and accomodations were superb.
