Gut ausgestattetes Reihenaus
Sauberes schönes Haus, leider war es nicht so einfach zu finden, da das Foto der Haustür, das uns mit den Informationen zum Einchecken gesendet wurde, nicht mit der Realität übereinstimmte. Eine solche Haustüre wie die auf diesem Foto abgebildete, gibt es in der ganzen Häuserzeile nicht. Hilfreich wäre auch die Information, dass „Cefnan“ der Name das Hauses ist und nicht z. B. der eines Ortsteils. Das Parken ist nur an der Straße möglich und wenn man Pech hat, muss man am anderen Ende des Dorfes parken. Der Garten ist leider nicht zu nutzen, wenn es vorher geregnet hat, da man über eine Steintreppe einen Hang hinaufsteigen muss und diese Treppe dann sehr rutschig ist. Während unseres Aufenthaltes war es allerdings auch ohnehin zu kalt, um draußen zu sitzen. Insgesamt war es ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt in zentraler Lage in Snowdonia, von wo aus man viele interessante Ziele gut erreichen konnte.

Quiet Comfortable Cottage perfect for exploring Eryri National Park
We loved this cottage as it was the perfect base for us to explore a bit of Snowdonia National Park. We are active hikers and took two trails (one to the top of Mount Snowdon) within 5 minutes from our door. The cottage was clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated and had a well appointed kitchen (which was perfect since both the tea room and the local pub were closed for food service due to staffing issues). Highly recommended for person wanting a quiet community with beautiful views.

Perfect getaway
The property was spotless and very warm. Although the garden eas listed as being a little treacherous it was very interesting and glorious views when you climbed to the top. Would definitely recommend and we will be back as great base for the surrounding villages.

Wet weather but loads of interesting places to visit
.Very well equipped, well presented and extremely clean. All kitchen appliance worked extremely well. Kitchen was quite cold. Few problems, the only heating in the bathroom was a heated towel rail but it wasn’t working. The back door to the garden leaked and formed a small flood in the kitchen, the mat was sodden. So we had to mop the floor several times. The bath was quite big with an integrated shower, there was no hand rail and no bath mat. This was a safety hazard. These points were raised with the representive but no action was taken. The electric shower was a little weak but adequate.

Glad you found the cottage well presented, equipped and clean. Thank you for your wider feedback. I apologise again for the unexpected issue with the new back door and towel rail which you brought to my attention a couple of nights before you were due to depart. I was mindful of not disturbing your stay for what I understood from you were minor issues and therefore did not attend to attempt to resolve during your stay. If I had understood differently I would have happily attended. I confirm that bath mats are provided so presume you are referring to an anti-slip mat which is incorporated within the bath itself. Regarding the bath hand rail I understand that some people have health issues that mean they may have a need for items such as these. I try to reflect fairly within the pictures the layout of the cottage but am always willing to answer any specific questions prior to or post booking with a view to accommodating individual needs where possible. I received no such request from you so had not appreciated your requirements as the picture of the bathroom shows the bath layout with no hand rail.

In the heart of Snowdonia
A really beautiful and cozy cottage is offering a home and base for all the activities Snowdonia is renowned for. A pub and a tea house are just a couple of meters away are and the Rhyd-Ddu hiking trail up to Mount Snowdon is literally starting directly beneath the cottage door. I wish we would have stayed longer…

Nice stone terrace house ideally located for various top hikes
Very nice location: The best Snowdon hike (via South ridge Allt Meandryn) and two further top hikes (Mynyd Mawr and Nantlle ridge) directly from the door step in Rhyd Ddu. At night almost no traffic on the small main road of the 70 inhabitant village in front of the building. Nicely and recently furbished and very modern top notch equipment (kitchen). Small (mind the head at both kitchen doors), but space is intelligently used. Notice that in the living room there luckily is a (quite small) table with four seats for dining (I mention this as it is not visible on the photos). No mobile connection in that village, but Wifi works well. Spacious kitchen works very well for family cooking. Dishwasher sometimes caused the fuse to go out (and didn't sufficiently dry the cutlery and crockery, at least we didn't understand how to manage that). Towel dryer in bathroom didn't warm up, maybe again just to difficult for us to understand how it works. This kind of building seems to get damp easily at least on rainy days, hence windows are equipped with permanent vents and an electric dehumidifier was available, but the best solution is just opening doors and windows.

Quiet and spotless
Check in was easy and property was spotlessly clean. Do head warnings about access to small garden as into easy at all. Whereas we were given a few web addresses, a more personal touch with suggestions for walks and local hints and tips would not have gone a miss.

Lovely cottage and location
Lovely, clean cottage which is very handy for an excellent pub and lots of walks on the hills from your door step. We were unfortunate with the weather at the beginning of the week and appreciated having the log burner which made the cottage very cosy. The scenery is breathtaking all round and the walking we did more than made up for rainy fays.

It was a great place to stay and very clean. The beds were very comfortable. Although we were out most of the time it was a nice place to relax when we came home in the evening. I'd have to say the only drawback (and granted, there were warning signs about it) were the very steep steps leading up to the top of the garden - I felt they were in need of a more substantial hand rail. All in all though a very lovely little cottage in a lovely village and beautiful surroundings - and an excellent stay - Highly recommended.

Memorable days in the heart of Snowdonia
We enjoyed very nice days in a confortable cottage located in an amazing place. Cefnan Cottage is in a peaceful town but close to many attractions. We liked so much the incredible backyard to have breakfast. In short, we found what we were looking for in our family holidays.

Second Visit
A three night stay this time and just as lovely as last year. Joined this time by our daughter and partner who enjoyed the cottage as much we do. Clean and cosy and continued improvement by the owners- beautiful new doors. Great walking and birdlife and fantastic meal at the local pub.

Perfect!
A couple of busy mums stayed in this wonderful cottage! We arrived in the dark at 8pm but found the cottage immediately and easily gain access with the key box. It was everything we hoped for. Clean and everything was easy to access and use. We explored the beautiful area. Everything is on your doorstep here but you are also in the middle of nowhere. Our stay here was relaxing and we had wonderful chilled evenings in the lounge. Excellent location for climbing Snowdown from the Rhy Ddu path. Sally was great at communication. We really hope to visit again soon.

A lovely gem of a place!
Had an incredibly relaxing week at Cenfan and the lovely village of Rhyd Ddu. Beautiful scenery, lots of walks and things to help us all unwind. Cenfan is a lovely cottage, well looked after and resourced. All mod cons and a welcome bottle of wine!! Thank you for a lovely stay. We hope to return.

Weekend break

Beautiful Cottage
Beautiful cottage ideally placed at the foot of the monster mountain Snowden. The cottage has everything you need, even an induction hob. The beds were comfy, the kitchen clean and nice to use. The back garden has amazing views of Snowden. I’d recommend this cottage to everyone looking for a nice relaxing break.

Fabulous cottage, great facilities nearby
we had a wonderful time staying at this property. Theres a tea room opposite that does gorgeous home cooked food, amazing delicious and yummy food, coffees, hot chocolates, lemonades.. And a fab pub a couple of minutes walk away. The garden is an idyllic small patch of land overlooking the mountains and the roof tops of the cottages. The steps up are quite steep, but this wasnt a problem for us at theres a solid hand rail on the way up. We loved staying in this cozy place. Beautifully decorated and homely. Thank you x

Top cottage in fabulous location
We had a fabulous few days in this beautiful, cosy cottage. We parked up and only used the car once in the time we were there. Walking from the door was amazing: aside from the routes up Snowdon and the Nantlle Ridge there are plenty of lower level walks and we particularly enjoyed the walk over to to LLyn Dinas (via the pass at the start of the Snowdon South Ridge to the start of the Watkin Path), through Beddgelert and return along the Slate Trail. Great bird life- garden alive and ring ouzel, raven, chough and cuckoo spotted in a close proximity. Some have mentioned the lack of light and tiredness of the kitchen- the kitchen is now brand new, spotless and well equipped. It is a thick walled cottage but not oppressive in any way - to the contrary, it is super cosy! The garden is an amazing asset. While the steep steps do make it a bit of a trek (and a disaster if you forget something and need to return!) the outlook towards Snowdon is a great backdrop and makes your wine so much nicer! All-in-all a gorgeous, comfortable, well placed cottage in a friendly local community with great tea room and pub.

Right at the foot of Snowdon
Perfect location if you want to hike up Snowdon via the quietest route. We also hiked the Nantlle Ridge, which arguably has even more spectacular views. The kitchen is a bit tired compared with the rest of the house (most of which looks freshly renovated) but it’s perfectly functional. There’s not much light in the house because the garden is so steep up the back and it’s a compact terrace. But it’s nice and cosy. We had mountain bikes with us and it was a bit of a rigmarole trying to get them through the house to lock at the back of the house (you can’t just walk round the back) but as the weather was perfect we weren’t muddy.

Comfy Cosy in Snowdon
We had a lovely time in this very well maintained cottage at the foot of Snowdon. The place was immaculately clean and very well equipped. Comfortable stay
The property is on a village road so not too busy. There is a B&B opposite and a good pub just down the road easy distance. The garden is very very steep and inaccessible if wet. We had a dog and it was no good from that point of view. Everything we required was there and I would stay again!
