So pleased you enjoyed the close proximity to the beach. However, your comments surprise us as we try hard to create a Bach experience - furnishings such as you may remember from 1960s, chefs supplies and general retro theme. Bach luxury is the good beds, great bathroom, dishwasher etc. the luxury standard you may expect is available at Kauri Cliffs for $2450 per night.

HI Gavin Thanks for taking the time to review us. Thanks also for pointing out your rubbish was not collected, as you had presumed it would have been. Our ethos is to provide a beach bach experience such as kiwis experienced in the 1960s - like you own the place, we trust you and you can enjoy the accommodation and beach undisturbed by nosy owners. To this end we do not service the apartments for stays of up to 3 nights so we are not all over you all the time ( but provide extra linen etc on open shelves) you gain access so you can feel the degree of trust, rubbish bins are provided outside, individual Weber BBQ for each apartment etc etc. However, Carol the manager is available during the day for any queries and I am available on the phone or internet. So your review is gratefully received and now we think about it, this 'ethos' is not so obvious. We will in future provide a welcoming letter for guests explaining our ethos, linen, rubbish etc. Thanks again for choosing to stay at Golden Sand and all the best for your future. Your comments have reminded us to amend our instruction booklet as we do provide changes of towels etc as their is a cupboard ( or shelves) in the apartment with extra towels etc for your use.
