Classic Kiwi Bach
Amazing location and views. Well kitted out kitchen, washer and dryer. Outdoor sink for filleting fish. Smelled strongly of fish on arrival. Not clean. Loads of cobwebs, needs a deep clean and maintenance. Be aware that the two downstairs rooms are dark, with only one having an external window. A bit damp and couldn’t get dehumidifier to work.

Family Event
My brothers and I needed a no fuss, clean and Doubtless Bay central place to stay for a family event. The bach was very clean with all the basics catered for, I would definitely stay again.

Lovely family stay:)
I stayed here with my husband and 2 adult girls. Woke up to a beautiful view each morning and really enjoyed the extra space in the house. Very comfy.

Dangers of Cable Bay
It started with the dangerous handrail on the access stairway, the front door that was broken, the joinery that didnt quite fit, the black mould around the shower and bath, the taps that were loose, the stair rail inside that wasnt safe, the narrow stairway to downstairs, the lack of a safe exit from downstairs, the musty smell from the lack of ventilation downstairs, the smell of urine in the upstairs bedroom and the toilet being loose. Take your pick of reasons not to hire this house.

Fantastic kiwi bach
Would definitely come back to this property. So close to beach. Great communication with host. Lovely views and everything to make a week long holiday fun and easy. Great position of BBQ and table on deck. Well set up kitchen and laundry is separate room which is great. Spacious comfortable lounge . Beds comfortable. The only negative at all was that the downstairs is not quite as nice as the upstairs due to damp smell. Dehumidifier provided which helped but not completely.

Excellent Family Bach
This was our second time at this bach - suits our family very well as is spacious with plenty of sleeping arrangement options/configurations. We intend to book again for next summer. Views are amazing and the beach only a couple of mins walk (we have older children so walking back up the hill was no problem for them).

Loved it!
Such a beautiful bach right infront of the beach! The views from the deck were stunning, especially during sunrise and sundown! House was clean, spacious, and warm. We went during May so it was very wet and cold weather, but as soon as you step inside the house it's freaking warm! My family had such a beautiful time here in the home as well as around Cable Bay and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a warm, spacious, and beautiful bach to book :) <3

Great bach to stay at!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Very spacious bach with huge range of sleeping configurations. Clean and tidy. Nice to have board games and DVDs on hand should required. We will certainly rebook for next summer!

This house is in a great location just a short walk to the beautiful cable bay beach. As said in previous reveiws downstairs has a very musty smell once we opened everything up it got better. We enjoyed our stay and the manager was very approachable. HouseJust needing a wee bit of attention in places. overall tho a great break

Beautiful spot
Great location across rd from beach with lovely views. Check in processes etc were all very easy with fantastic communication from owners. We timed our visit with the northland floods and owners were very kind letting us stay another night when rds were closed. The bach is well stocked with everything you need. Kitchen clean and very well equipped. Beds are comfy. We only used the 3 bedrooms upstairs. As per other's reviews downstairs rooms are musty but would be ok for warmer months when you can have everything open to air out. But it's a great set up down there with a 2nd tv etc.. All in all highly recommend and would love to stay there again.

Great family holiday stay
The property is well laid out for a big family group, the location is excellent and the beds very comfortable! Our 3 families enjoyed a week in this beautiful part of NZ. The downstairs bedrooms were a little cold in winter, but summery weather helped a lot.

Awesome views and location. House very clean and tidy. Musty smell downstairs as others have noted. Had an issue with hobs not working. Property manager came out and advised it was a faulty switch but it wasn't replaced while we were there which was disappointing.

We had a lovely stay for 6 people, loved the closeness of the beach and the shop was a bonus. Downstairs is a bit musty but dehumidifier helped. Massive bonus that dogs are allowed. Thankyou.

We had such a wonderful stay, perfect for our 2 families and 2 dogs, as it was a work trip we brought our families with us as we were working in Kaitaia as it is only half hour drive away. Very easy to find and very good communication from the owner online. Has excellent views of the ocean from the deck and the beach is literally just down the shared driveway and across the road. Highly recommend, as we stayed here in August I imagine it would be awesome in summer.

The property was nice and spacious for our family of 8. It had everything we needed and we were all very comfortable. The views of Doubtless Bay were stunning. It was just a short walk down to the beautiful beach and fairly close to shops and amenities.

An older house, but nicely presented with tons of room - could fit a crowd with all those bedrooms. Close to the beach with wonderful views out over the sea. Next time we'll go in Summer and enjoy the extensive decks and the BBQ! The clincher for us was that this property is dog-friendly - for a small additional fee. A negative for some might be the lack of wi-fi. Overall, this offered us everything we wanted and then some.

Family get together
We had a family get together at the house which accommodated all 9 of us. It's a very warm comfortable house with everything you could need provided. The views of Cable bay are amazing and the house is just across the road from the beach. We loved staying here.
