We find that this firmness level is comfortable for most of our guests. Sorry that it was not the perfect match for you. We did not receive any notifications that there were any shower issues. It is very rare that we have guests with total disregard for our property and rules. This guest and his all male group wanted a party house to bring young local professional girls; as they did against my rules and personal requests not to the first day they arrived. Our Policy is clearly stated on our listing and contract that No Unregistered Guests are Allowed. This means that unless you are on the list of registered guests made at the time of making the registration, you are not permitted on the property. This is done for the security of our guests and property. There are groups of men that visit the DR to prey on the local girls. We do not want their business or them on our property. This group of 4 men were warned on the first day to remove the 6 young local women averaging 20 years old from the property. They responded with threats, hostility and refused to remove the Unregistered Guests. I asked them to leave the next day and they did. As to the problems with the property; our staff was there to exchange the tv with a working tv. There are a few lovely dogs around the property that most guests love. The maid cleans every day and would have gladly cleaned the beach bed on request. We have had no guest complaints about our beds. Of course, mattresses perfect for one may be not the best for another. As far as the beach being “unattractive and not easy to walk”, you can walk for 3 miles in either direction on a soft sandy beach with hardly a soul to be seen. I have been all around the world and this stretch of beach is one of my favorites. I don’t think these guests were there to spend time walking on or enjoying the beach. As evidenced by this guest’s own words; “Now to get to the real problem”, the complaints prior to this statement were not really the reason for their one star review. Of all the properties we have listed on Homeaway, we have never received a one star review. We usually receive 5 star reviews with a sprinkling of 4 and a couple 3. If it is your desire to rent Villa Flamingo to bring local professional girls there, then please know this is not the place for you. We have hosted many families, guy groups and girl groups in the past with no issues like this group presented us with. Kind Regards, Frank

Hello Darlene, We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Villa Flamingo. I checked in with you several times during your stay and there was no mention of any problems with the fridge. We will certainly check on that. I wish that you would have mentioned that to me or any of the staff. Would have been a quick easy fix. We have had many families with all age children over the last 7 years and the pool has remained unchanged since it was built. This is the first instance of a concern over the pool steps during that time. I’m sorry if they caused you any problems. As we tell all guests in our Welcome Letter, the ocean currents can be treacherous at times and only experienced ocean swimmers or surfers should go swimming. It is the Atlantic with great waves and breaks that many guests search for to allow them to surf right in front of the villa. Thank you for staying at Villa Flamingo.
