While I can understand that they were likely slammed with reservations on New Year’s Eve that doesn’t excuse much of the disappointment in the experience.
Arrived at 5pm and the lobby was full of guests waiting to get into their rooms because cleaning was still underway. While we were lucky enough to get into our room upon arrival, it wasn’t without issue. I reserved a full lake view room to be able to see the fireworks but was given a partial lake view. I disagreed, was asked to show proof, told that I had booked incorrectly and that they had changing their naming structure of the different room types. Ultimately I got the room I reserved but not without headache.
The room was clean, but we found trash in the drawers of the dresser. Every floor is supposed to have a coffee/refreshment bar. The coffee machine on our floor was broken, beans spilling out of the top. There was not a coffee machine on the floor below us, so we found one on the mezzanine floor.
I’ve always enjoyed this hotel in the past, as recently as a year ago, but it seems there is currently a management, staffing and maintenance issue.
