Anchors Away - Relaxing Cottage Minutes from Lake

Summary:
Newly remodeled home just a short walk to the Lake, Bars & Restaurants! 2 bedrooms & 2.5 bathrooms with a cozy nautical design. Fully stocked kitchen and spacious living room are perfect for vacationing with family!

Additional amenities included for our guests are: 3 Bikes, Yard Games, Firepit, Propane Grill & Board Games

We can accommodate a MAX of 3 Cars and no street parking available.

All Short-Term Rentals in the Village of Buckeye Lake are governed under Ordinances #2022-36/#2023-27

The Space:
First floor includes an eat in kitchen fully stocked with everything you would need to make a full meal. The spacious living room has a sofa, arm chairs and smart TV and is connected to the front entry. Additionally on the first floor is a half bath, laundry room, and walk-in pantry.

The second floor has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The main bedroom is furnished with a king size bed and arm chairs. This room also includes a smart TV, en-suite bathroom, and walk in closet. The second bedroom is complete with a full size bed, twin bunk beds, walk in closet and some areas to sit. Guests staying in the room will have access to the second full bathroom located off the hallway. Additionally the second floor has a desk and dedicated work space.

This home can comfortably sleep 6 people. It can sleep up to 8, but additional fee will apply!

The fenced in backyard offers privacy and is outfitted for grilling, bonfires and family game night. A full size propane grill is available for guest use along with a variety of yard games. Backyard also includes adirondack chairs around the fire and an outdoor dining table.

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the entire house and back yard!

The Neighborhood:
Buckeye Lake itself spans 5 towns and 2 counties! We are located in the center of the Village of Buckeye Lake (Licking County). The Village of Buckeye Lake is a small town along the north shore. Like many lake towns the streets are narrow and the houses are close together! Especially in the summer you will see neighbors out walking, it’s important to note that there are no sidewalks however cars do yield to walkers! Like many small towns in Ohio the look of surrounding houses may vary, but don’t let that deter you from having fun and exploring all the lake has to offer!

Getting Around:
Parking is only available on gravel driveway. Driveway can accommodate a maximum of 3 cars. Unfortunately there is no street parking available.

  • The second oldest building remaining on The Ohio State University campus, Orton Hall was opened in 1893. It is named after Dr Edward Orton, Sr. who served as Ohio State's first president, OSU Professor of Geology from 1873 to 1899, and Ohio's State Geologist from 1882 until his death in 1899. Orton Hall is built of 40 different Ohio building stones. In the outside walls, these stones are laid in stratigraphic order according to their relative positions in Ohio's bedrock. The only non-indigenous to Ohio stone used is Indiana Limestone to build the front steps. It was chosen because of its high concentration of embedded fossils. The bell tower was dedicated in 1915 and contains 25,000 pounds of bells that can be heard regularly tolling across campus. Spacious and lovely home

My friend and her husband and my partner traveled together to attend a festival nearby. The house was very accessible to the location and also quiet in a nice vacation community. The bedrooms were very comfortable, the beds were great, and there was more than enough room to have some privacy. The house was so well appointed with linens and a full kitchen which is a great layout for entertaining, and the host was very responsive. If I had to come up with any criticisms, it would be that the shower in the master is a little small with a large rainfall showerhead. It was just a little too big for the space. The other thing is just my personal preference, which is to be able to block out morning light with curtains. This house has blinds, so you can filter the light but not really darken the room. Other than that, I loved the house and would definitely come back. The cozy backyard is lovely, there's lots of seating outdoors and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Great place

This was a great stay! This place was even better in person - cute, bright, and tidy nautical theme throughout. Layout was great for our family. First time to Buckeye Lake and we thoroughly enjoyed bikes on site for the 4 mile path along the lake. Loved the cocoa, Chocolate, and peppermint welcome treat in the kitchen. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Amazing stay!

Our stay was truly lovely! The house is really nice with lots of space and very thoughtful touches for guests throughout. It really is not a typical rental with all the extras they provide, like a high chair and pack n play set up for us when we arrived! The hosts were quick to respond and even allowed us to reschedule after my entire family became ill shortly before our rental period. The location is also awesome, close to everything! We kept saying to each other what a great place it was, and especially rare to find a rental that’s njcer than the pictures!

Winter Getaway

This property has everything you need and more. The home was very clean and clearly labeled making everything very easy to find/operate. The check in/out process was simple. Wonderful house near a beautiful lake!

I loved this house and all of its amenities. We made a fire in the fire pit in the private backyard (thank you to the hosts for leaving us the ingredients for s'mores!). It was very clean, the bed is comfortable, and everything is updated. The hosts also provide a lot of helpful clear directions about where things are and what to do.

Lovely Home with all the Amenities

This was a great place for us to stay while visiting family in Ohio. The host was very responsive and responded back whenever we had a question. The place is clean, well decorated and has plenty of amenties to cook a dinner, and added ones for pups! The beds were comfortable and had huge closets. It was nice that there was a powder room on the main floor and separate bathrooms (x2) upstairs. The backyard was nice for our small pups to run around in. And check-in was very so smooth. We highly recommend this for your next stay!

Drop Your Ship’s Anchor Here for a Great Trip!

Very spacious home with lots of natural light! We loved the large kitchen island for organizing our gear and prepping meals. The wrap around deck and outdoor dining and seating areas were so nice. Our pet had a good time in the fenced in yard. Wonderful string lights illuminated the entire back area well into the late evening. Very responsive ac and room cooling fans for a refreshing interior during the humid summer weather. Modern showers with plenty of hot water. Soft and light bed linens for easy rest. All the comforts of home. Everything felt clean and bright. The laundry room was an added bonus. We loved the close proximity to local restaurants, coffeeshops, and easy access to local shopping centers. Would highly recommend for the family looking for a nice getaway by the lake.

Great place

We had a great time, this place is awesome and we plan to stay again. One thing I will mention is that sound really travels through the house.. you can hear everything if your a light sleeper… this did not negatively affect our stay it’s just a fact. The place was perfectly decorated to make it feel like a lake house vacation. And had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and more.
