Beautiful home, but an absolutely disastrous experience. The house itself is gorgeous, the kitchen is very well stocked, and the beds are incredibly comfortable. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end.The problems began the first night when the pool lights failed, leading to the discovery of major electrical issues. Much of the house was without electricity and AC for days, and we lost hot water on day two. We were later told the electrical system and solar panels had been fried. Then the living room ceiling began leaking, the hallway toilet would not flush, and the master bathroom urinal was leaking.After supposedly completed repairs, we returned one evening to find the entire house flooding from the ceiling due to ruptured pipes. We had to relocate around midnight. S Luxury eventually moved us to another property that was also problematic—sand-filled pool, broken AC, virtually no water pressure, and contractors coming and going throughout our stay.Communication was extremely frustrating. Despite repeatedly requesting escalation to ownership, responses were delayed or nonexistent. A partner eventually promised to resolve things, then disappeared. VRBO was equally disappointing and did not meaningfully stand behind its rental guarantee.We spent much of our vacation dealing with contractors, repairs, relocation, and expenses rather than enjoying Costa Rica. We even suffered vehicle damage from the collapsing garage ceiling.
