They were overbooked and turned us away on Monday Oct. 9. We had to find a room at 8 pm which was a nightmare. They blamed it on Expedia. Let me know please

We are sorry that you weren't able to stay with us. We did call and locate another local accommodation for you and gave you driving directions on how to get there. From what we understand you enjoyed your stay with us the week before and were understanding of the situation when we spoke with you. It is unfortunate you felt the need to leave this review when it clearly doesn't reflect a stay with us.

Need a better breakfast!
The place itself was very nice and our hostess was very cordial. The breakfast was horrible. She did not ask what we wanted and it was hard boiled eggs and cold ham. There was pancake syrup on the table but no pancakes. It would have been nice to have more options.

For breakfast we offer a cereal bar, yogurts, breads, boiled eggs, ham, tomatoes, fresh fruit salad, milk, juice, coffee and tea. You are correct, we don't take orders as we are not a restaurant. We explain to all guests as to what to expect upon arrival. If our offering does not meet guest expectations we kindly suggest booking elsewhere.

Lovely little B&B, just a half block from the water that separates it from Logan Airport. So there's some noise from planes, but that's to be expected. Everything in the place was really nice, quaint and friendly. Note that although it's "close" to the airport, drive time in morning traffic is 15-20 minutes.

We were really disappointed with our stay. The number one issue, which really tainted the whole experience, was the owner/manager’s attitude. We arrived shortly before 4, the check-in time, and called her asking if we could get the keys. There was a note on the door saying to not call until it was 4, but it close enough that we felt it should be fine. We were told we had to wait until exactly 4 because the cleaning wasn’t finished. We wandered around for another 20 minutes and then approached the door again. At this point it was past 4 and another couple was also waiting to check in, having also been told to come back. The manager/owner walked out a few minutes later, and handed us each a 2-sides piece of paper with instructions for our stay. She told us explicitly not to come

Our policies clearly state that we cannot accommodate early check-in unfortunately. During our busy months, we are fully booked and need the full time to clean the rooms. We provide notes for each guest, each night with detailed information about how to enter the property, where to park and how to find your room. We encourage guests to read the note thoroughly as it has all of the information you need for check-in. However, we are always on premises and are happy to answer additional questions. To clarify, we never told you "not to come".

Great Location
We picked this B&B due to its proximity to Logan Airport. Since I had a very early flight, I can't rate the breakfast part of the stay. Due to the nearby airport, it was a little noisy. It is located in a nice neighborhood and there seemed to be a good mixture of places to eat, although many of them were closed on Monday. The room was small, but clean. The bed was comfortable.

I wanted to take a bath, but when the water poured into the worn tub, the surface on the bottom lifted up and pealed off. Bed had old box spings and sagging matress. On the positive side, great continental breakfast!

Our long car trip was terrible. My sister caught Covid on the way there. We had to turn back. The place absolutely refused to give us even a partial refund. So much for Yankee hospitality.

Weekend Stay
Our overnight stay was enjoyable. Check-in was easy with clear instructions. Our room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very good. The property was located within walking distance of restaurants in Winthrop. We highly recommend Chateau sur Mer Bed & Breakfast.

Although the host is a friendly person, they should tell people that this is not a hotel or AnB but a private residence that rents bedrooms to guests. The dining area could be better if a microwave and fridge could be provided for guest use.

Our name is "Chateau sur Mer Bed and Breakfast". Perhaps you should google "the definition of a Bed and Breakfast. Please, also, log onto "Town of Winthrop Bed and Breakfast" by laws and you will understand why guests cannot use microwaves or any other cooking, heating or warming appliances any where in the home. And, there is a refrigerator on the end of the breakfast buffet where guest can help themselves to Milk, Juice, Butter, Jams & Jellies and yogurt. I don't know how you missed it. Thank you for you input and hope to see you again.
