Country Style House in Bologna by Wonderful Italy

Beautiful apartment with well-kept interiors, a stone's throw from Via del Pratello and a 5-minute walk from the city center.



The house is located on the third floor of a building without an elevator and spreads over two levels.

The living area consists of a sitting room with a dining table, a TV area with two sofas and a double sofa bed, and a kitchen equipped with an oven, a kettle, a freezer, and an additional dining table. This is followed by a bedroom with a queen-size bed and three bathrooms, two with a shower and one with a bathtub. Some wooden and iron stairs lead to the mezzanine where we find a queen-size bed and a room with a single bed.



*The flat is located in a ZTL area, so we recommend leaving your car in one of the surrounding car parks and enjoying the historic center on foot.

Bologna, known as the "Dotta" because it is the seat of the oldest university in the West, the "Grassa" for its excellent food and wine and the "Rossa" color that characterizes the historic center, is a wonderful city of art, culture, and commerce. Its soul lies in its medieval historical center, which is among the largest in Europe and full of taverns, shops, and theatres, characterized by almost 40 km of arcades. In the historical center is Piazza Maggiore, where the charm of the medieval buildings is perfectly combined with modernity. Not to be missed are Giambologna's Neptune Fountain and the Medieval Towers, the Asinelli, and the Garisenda, part of a rich cultural heritage preserved in the numerous museums, galleries, and religious buildings. It is impossible to leave Bologna without tasting its food and wine products, including mortadella, tortellini, ragù alla Bolognese accompanied by the well-known DOC wines of the Colli Bolognesi! Rich in exhibitions, fairs, and cultural events, Bologna is a city that can surprise all year round.



The central train station is 1.7 km from the accommodation, while the airport can be reached by car in less than 20 minutes.

WarningOn the first night we arrived in Bologna, I messaged the property manager and told him I could meet earlier than the 3 PM check-in if he preferred. He said 12:30 PM would work. My train was delayed, so I ended up being about 15 minutes late. The guy completely freaked out on me. I explained that my train had been delayed and that he didn’t need to worry about the earlier time, but he then told me he could no longer meet at 3 PM either. He was clearly upset.He handed me a bunch of keys and said he didn’t know which ones went where—just “figure it out yourself.”The Wi-Fi didn’t work at all, and it took them two full days to fix it.There was trash of all kinds lying around the apartment.The lightbulbs in the bathroom were burnt out and didn’t work.The floors were filthy.There aren’t four rooms—there are only two. They simply put two beds in a hallway and called it extra “bedrooms.”There were no instructions on how or where to take out the trash, and all the locations they mentioned were locked.There were no trash bags, no dish-washing liquid, and no coffee maker.I suspect this is a large company managing many properties, and this one simply slipped through the cracks and wasn’t properly prepared.I would not stay here again.

This apartment is in a MAJOR construction zone which the listing says nothing about. When we got there, the guy who gave us a keys said he was in a hurry and rushed through showing us where things were. I should have known there was an issue when he took me downstairs to the first floor to show me how to reset the circuit breaker if the power goes out. My daughter noticed that the wi fi didn’t work and I asked him about it as he rushed out the door. He tried to troubleshoot it for a few mins then said I needed to call the internet provider (no idea how to do this as a visitor in another country). After the first night, I woke up to find my suitcase and computer backpack soaked from the overflowing condensation bucket coming from the portable air condition unit. We had an early morning food tour and five of us had to take showers. One shower worked, one worked but had no shower curtain and one had the hot water completely shut off. We messaged the owner several times about the air conditioner, the shower and the Wi-Fi, as well as the constant construction noise, and kept gettin AI responses. It was also through this sketchy place called wonderful Italy reservations that also never responded to my messages. My family was absolutely miserable there and we left a day short as the noise was nonstop and in no way did it feel like a vacation. I would never, ever stay at this place again. I should have done a better job looking at the reviews for this place.

The one bedroom has air, but the rest of the apartment has this one air conditioner with the hot air tube going through the open window, there is a small bucket where the condensation goes into that overflows and empties into the floor every 4 hours
The couches have a dirty dust cover on them with one part ripped through to the inside of the couch
Here is the street in front of the apartment where they are putting in a new train line. It is a massive construction project where almost all streets in the neighborhood are blocked off with loud noises and dust everywhere.

Lovely apartment, close to everything

Our group of 6 loved our stay in this apartment. There were a lot of stairs to climb but it was easily worth it, we had everything we needed and were very comfortable. Luciano was very helpful and friendly and we had a great time! There is construction outside the apartment (as of May 2025) but we were able to cover most of it up with a white noise machine. Bologna was such a wonderful city and we loved this apartment!

Bei längerem Aufenthalt Handtücher mitbringenWichtig für die Anreise mit dem Auto: Straße befindet sich in ZTL, zona traffico limitato. Das ist eine begrenzte Verkehrszone, in die ausschließlich Fahrzeuge mit einer Sondergenehmigung einfahren dürfen.

Could be easily improved

The flat is in a great location but it's also a 3-4 floor walk up so keep that in mind if you have older guests. The unit itself is well enough appointed but there were a few items that could easily be fixed such as a loose shelf in the bathroom, broken fan, and a deep cleaning. The rest bedroom in the upstairs loft has no ventilation so that was impossible to sleep in because of the heat. There's only one heat pump in the back bedroom on the first floor. This place could definitely benefit from the installation of another in the living room. Overall, the communication was good and the location ideal, but with just a few improvements, this place could be really wonderful.

Good old town location

Located in a nicely redone apartment it is a perfect place to two couples or a family, with lots of space. Try the trattoria da me just a block away. It’s one of the better restaurants I’ve eaten at and 1/2 the price of a similar meal in the US.

Good but a few things could improve

We enjoyed our stay and thought location was very good. The property was good although open plan layout should have been made clear as we were traveling with young children who need closed off sleeping areas and two of the beds with effectively in the main living area. Toilet in shower room was leaking and shower drain blocked in addition both bathrooms downstairs were quite smelly. Overall a decent property in a good location close to cafes and restaurants and tourist spots and with bus stop directly outside.
