Summary:

Perched on 15 private acres atop Fair Mountain, SkyFall offers incredible long-range views of the Blue Ridge and Grandfather Mountain and sleeps 8 people across 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. Less than 10 minutes from downtown Blowing Rock, the house features a large, covered porch with outdoor wood burning fireplace for family nights and entertaining. Dog-friendly. AWD/4WD absolutely required in winter.



The Space:

Escape to SkyFall, a wonderful 3-bedroom, 2-level mountain home perched at the very top of Fair Mountain. Nestled on 15 private acres of soaring trees and rhododendron forest, this unique house wraps you in total seclusion for a peaceful place to entirely unplug and unwind.



The jewel of this retreat is the large, covered porch, a favorite gathering spot for family and friends to relax and reconnect. This spacious outdoor living area comes alive around a magnificent wood-burning fireplace. Complete with ample seating, a large dining space, it's built for the kind of dinner that turns into a three- hour fireside conversation. From this sheltered vantage point, and through large viewing windows throughout the open-concept home, you can admire incredible, long-range views stretching along the Blue Ridge to Table Rock and Hawksbill Mountain. On the opposite side of the house, the west deck delivers direct, expansive views of Grandfather Mountain.



Down on the nicely landscaped, south-facing grounds, unwind in Adirondack chairs around a small fire pit, chase your pup on the grassy area, lay in a hammock, or play tag or cornhole.

The upper-level interior boasts a striking twelve-sided architectural design with a spacious, sun-drenched open-concept layout centered around a vented skylight. The well-appointed kitchen is complete with granite countertops and all-new appliances, and flows seamlessly into a comfortable living area anchored by a gas log fireplace and wrapped in massive viewing windows. A convenient half bath sits just off the living room. A 65" OLED smart TV with home theater makes for a great movie night.



Although the SkyFall is passively cooled by its eco-friendly design, ceiling fans, and soothing mountain breezes, AC is being added to the main level in the winter of 2025.

Retreat to the nicely decorated master suite, featuring a king size bed with a new high quality mattress and a custom, beautifully remodeled bathroom. Enjoy a private forest view grounded by a carpet of lush ferns.



Downstairs, the octagon-shaped lower level offers two additional private guest rooms with a Jack-and-Jill bath, giving your guests their own comfortable space. The front bedroom has a queen bed and bunk bed, with long-range views of its own. The private "birch room" has a queen bed nested in the middle of the lower level for those needing cocooned quiet for a good night's sleep. Both bedrooms have smart TVs. You'll also find a laundry area and a small game room on this ground level.

A brief 2-to-3-minute stroll beginning at the back of the house takes you to a spectacular rock outcropping with a small iron table and 2 chairs, offering a secluded spot for solitude and reflection with nature.

SkyFall is a dog-friendly, three-bedroom haven that blends magnificent scenery with unique architectural charm, abundant outdoor living space, and a chef-ready kitchen. It’s the ultimate mountain getaway for the entire family!



Pet Rules: 

Pets allowed with approval - a maximum of 2 dogs. There are no weight requirements.

Your dog(s) must be fully housetrained and current on vaccinations and Flea & Tick preventative; cannot be left loose or unattended at any time; must be crated if you leave them home alone, crate(s) not supplied; pets are not allowed on the furniture and you must clean up any hair in the home upon your departure. Spot clean the carpet if your dog has an accident; Please make sure to clean up the yard after your dogs.  There is a non refundable and taxable pet fee per dog.

There is one security camera that shows driveway as you approach the house and the other security camera shows only the southern view. There are no cameras that show any part of the living space (inside or outside).



Guest Access:

SkyFall is accessed via a private, long, ascending gravel driveway with parking for 3-4 vehicles, 2 in a carport. While the owners have completed extensive road improvements and add fresh gravel annually, the mountain terrain is real, and AWD or 4WD vehicles are required during winter months. SkyFall’s driveway is not plowed in the winter months so a significant snow will require chains for access, or a proactive move to another property.s to entire house



The Neighborhood:

This house is set in a private setting with exceptional mountain views and gorgeous trees. It is about 10 minutes from downtown Blowing Rock.



Getting Around:

***During the winter season, 4WD vehicles are required for this cabin from Thanksgiving-March 31st. If you are within these dates please make sure all guests have 4WD vehicles or are able to obtain a 4WD vehicle prior to the stay.
