I am from Utah and was traveling home. Very last minute I decided to stay the night at Blue Sage. I was booked immediately and the room was so nice. The newly renovated shower was a fave of mine. I may make a trip to just stay here again! The breakfast was cute and I had multiple food choices. We loved it!

I loved this place and would definitely stay here again. I was really questioning what I had gotten myself into when I pulled in around 9 at night. In the dark, the outside looks a little like a sketchy run down motel. However, it is really cute and clean inside. It has the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in and was super quiet. It was great having access to my streaming services on the tv. It’s located within walking distance of restaurants. The self check in is super convenient and the breakfast is perfect. The outside of the hotel looks much better in the light of day.

The room is complete, clean with a good bed and the breakfast is good enough to start the day. The breakfast room only offers space for 4 to 6 people. Unfortunately, our room was not cleaned on the second day, no clean towels, no more toilet paper, etc. Unfortunately, this could no longer be corrected because after 7 o'clock in the evening none of the staff is present. The notice on the doors that you can email the owners directly is of no use, because several emails are not answered, even after 2 days. The rooms are quite noisy and this combined with the fact that the cars are parked less than 8 feet from the front doors, the chance of waking up early is almost guaranteed. The next day the reception turned out to be unmanned and we left after waiting 10 minutes. In summary, not worth repeating and I was especially surprised by the fact that as a guest you are left to your own devices if something is not right.

It's advertised as having laundry facilities on-site. However, when I spoke to the staff member in the office, they told me there was no laundry rooms on-sight. I would have to go to a local laundromat.

Although the property from the outside looks plain, the room was spacious, very clean, and had excellent amenities, such as extra hooks for towels in convenient places, a larger than usual television, excellent beds and pillows, and great lighting. The heater worked perfectly (since temps were in the 30’s). The owner was kind to leave the light on in our pre-heated room when we arrived late.

We were late arriving there but we got very detailed instructions on how to check in through email and text. It’s really thoughtful. The room and bathrooms are very clean. The location is convenient for gasoline and car service. A great stop if you drive to arches national park, canyon land national park,natural bridges monument and monument valley.

This little inn was way more than we expected. Even though I ready tons of reviews, I was still a little skeptical. Not only was I not disappointed, I was really impressed with the experience. We ended up getting delayed on our road trip and didn’t get in until midnight, so pulling up to our door and having a code to get in was awesome. The place was super clean and updated, great bathroom, and the bed was absolutely outstanding. As a road trip stop, we really appreciated the fridge (and feeezer- very rare), and microwave. The breakfast had microwaveable breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, granola bars, home baked banana bread, juice, several kinds of oatmeal, and coffee/tea. It was plenty for us. I really couldn’t have asked for more. The outside is a little deceiving because it’s basic, but the rest is great. We drive across this route once a year to visit family and we will stay here every time in the future.

This was a clean and cute little place to stay. Access was easy even when I arrived late at night. It was easy to get a to-go breakfast from the office in the morning. The walls are a little thin and the heating unit would kick on frequently, but they weren't too bothersome. I would stay here my next time through Blanding!

Although the outside is nothing to write home about, the inside was recently renovated and very nice. Comfy bed, large tv, good mini fridge and microwave. Great continental breakfast (especially the banana bread).

One of the cleanest motel I have ever stayed, can smell bleach from every towel. Although there is not much choice for food on that small town, a subway 3 min walk away is good enough for the trip.

Loved it.
Maybe one of the best places I’ve stayed- absolutely perfect for a stop along a road trip. Starting with the shower- the shower head was super high up and was detachable, I got to take a super long, hot, thorough shower- just what I needed after 3 days of camping. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of actually decent pillows, the TV was huge, the room and property were both clean. The room had super high up windows which was amazing because so often I feel like I am in a dark cave in hotel rooms keeping my curtains closed for privacy, but with the high windows I could have privacy AND natural light. There were large trash cans outside the rooms (also a great feature for someone who has been road tripping to be able to clean out the car some). Breakfast was delicious and they had additional food that could be purchased to take on the road. The breakfast room and hotel rooms were all nice with cute decorations, too. My impression of this place is a spot that leans into being a road trip stop instead of a destination and that really works for them! I’ll book again if I’m passing through in the future.

Worth the stay!
We enjoyed our stay(3 nights) at the Blue Sage Inn. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the ability to check into our room after arriving late and just using the electronic door code provided in our welcoming email. Breakfast included homemade banana bread and other baked goods. We look forward to staying here again!

This was a very nice place to stay in a unique place that has found it's own solutions to solve room design to make it functional for the traveler.

WHY THEIR RATINGS ARE ARTIFICALLY HIGH? The motel has a sign inside the room encouraging guests to only share positive feedback, and email the owners before posting negative experiences. I imagine they will offer a discount to hide their negative reviews. This results in their unusually high ratings. NEGATIVES: - Overpowering smell from the cleaning products. I had to leave the front door open for an hour (uncomfortable temperature consequences), and close the bathroom door so it would be bearable. I would stay in nearby Monticello for better options. - Only two tables in the small breakfast area. I had to wait until a table freed up. - It's an upgraded 1940's-style motel. Exterior is below average, each room's footprint is as in the 1940's. - There was a billing problem where I had to leave my credit card, when I had fully pre-paid my stay with Expedia. In the end, it doesn't look like they charged my credit card. OVERALL: Read the other reviews for the positives. The finishings are nice, well above average. Most of what the positive reviews say is true. Nevertheless, I would not stay here again because of the smell.

All the good first: Check in was easy and quick. They actually text me my room number and door code prior to my arrival. The young lady at the front desk was very helpful when I asked her about dining options. She gave me options and closing times, as we were well into evening when we arrived. The room was cute and clean. They had the heater turned on for us so the room wasn't freezing. My 15 year old daughter traveling with me was glad to see a Roku with the TV, giving her lots of choices. The beds were comfortable and the room quiet. The disappointing part of our short stay: Breakfast in the morning was suppose to start at 7:30, the office/breakfast area was still not open when we left at 7:50. I was heading for southern Arizona and trying to beat a winter storm going through southern Utah/Northern Arizona I didn't want to wait around. We grabbed some breakfast burros from the gas station across the street and headed out. Honestly, I can chalk this up to maybe someone called in sick and they were figuring it out which is why I'm still leaving them 4 stars.
