Great services and good food! Quite near the Glenshee ski centre so I’d definitely recommend if you’re up for a ski trip

I hate giving bad reviews but I think the Kirkmicheal Hotel needs to know so they can sort out the issues. Firstly there is only one staff member doing EVERYTHING! Said woman wasn't feeling very well so when I arrived the place was deserted, she eventually appeared and showed me to my room which she had upgraded to a double room instead of a single one. This was the only good thing about my stay, the room was clean enough but could be done with a spruce up, and the place was cold which after a long hike in the snow isn't what you need. In the evening of my second night, there was no food on offer as the woman was in her bed not well so I had to order a takeaway that cost me £15 delivery now this wouldn't have been an issue if the woman had got back to my message before I arrived regarding food options in the evenings, I could have taken my own. Also, the breakfast was supposed to be from 7.30 am until 9.30 but she informed me it would be 8.30 am which was no use to me as I was leaving early for my hike. To be honest the hotel served its purpose but don't expect too much as this poor woman is running the whole show on her own!

Dirty carpet in entrance hall not a good impression. Single bed was a camp bed so uncomfortable. Decor in need of modernisation and repair inside and out. Many dinner menu items unavailable

We found that not reserving dinner was not a problem as we could eat in the bar. Breakfast must be reserved in advance. Our two night stay was enjoyable.

Very good hotel around the pitlochry area. Hosts were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was amazing and Amanda was very enthusiastic and friendly. She made us try all kind of Scottish breakfast and was everything was super yummy!! I would definitely recommend this place.

Disappointing
Room 4 wasn't terribly clean, tap in bathroom dripped all night, heating wasn't working properly, room was cold, dirty carpet. Breakfast wasn't good noticed most people left half of it. Milk jugs on table were filthy inside.

ok for the night when passing through
Bed was terrible hard springs and 2 singles joined together not comfortable. Very limited evening menu but possibly expected in the middle of no where burger was nice though , the breakfast was overcooked everything was bunt. Nice quiet area once the traffic has stopped for the night The rooms were clean but could do with updating and possibly a bigger TV as it was very small for the size of the room.

Great Location
Welcoming staff. Good breakfast. New owners of only a few weeks but who has plans - hotel a bit tired but know the owner recognises and will address. Great location for Cateran Trail access and Glenshee.

Fab traditional hotel with outstanding food!
Lovely hotel in a lovely little village with walks along the river for our dog. The manager Gary went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Lovely big room and very dog friendly. Roaring lot fire in the pub even in June and the pub food was outstanding! Chicken pie and chips were superb, but everyone said how Great their food was. Great hot buffet breakfast included. Highly recommended!

Gps and maps provided did not lead to the correct hotel. Had to stay at a different hotel due to driving around aimlessly for hours and we were finally too tired/car sick to go on.

The hotel was comfortable and clean. I didn't eat in the restaurant that evening, so I can't comment on the food, but the menu looked good and was reasonably priced. The en-suite bathroom was clean but odd - no kneeroom when 'sitting down' as the toilet faced into the corner of the room... However, that was a minor issue. The booking said continental breakfast, but this was actually a full cooked breakfast buffet, very nice. The gravel car park was small, with no secure motorcycle parking, which is something to consider if you are traveling by bike, but the village is very quiet, so I felt safe parking there. Next time I'll stay for more than one night, so I can eat at the restaurant and enjoy some of the excellent biking roads in the area.

Great Little Hotel in Beauutiful Area
I really enjoyed this place. It's a small unassuming hotel in a beautiful part of the Scottish countryside. My single room was small but well enough furnished and equipped. Evening meals are served in the bar downstairs - the service was fast and friendly and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. Breakfast, which you order the night before, is taken in a separate room which also doubles as an art gallery so lots to look at. The breakfast is absolutely superb. All in all, an excellent place to stay and a good first nighht's stop on the Cateran Trail.

Village hotel on The Cateran Trail
What a gem of a place - the staff will literally bend over backwards to help you. Good size clean room, water pressure in the shower is fab and the WiFi in the room is the fastest WiFi I’ve ever known in any hotel. Food is really good and freshly cooked and the bar is well stocked with everything you’d want. Now as I was doing The Cateran Trail the owner Tek provided me with free vehicle support (he does it for everyone that stays for 2 nights or more, I stayed for 4) and picked me up and dropped me off morning and evening - I couldn’t have done it without him. Don’t think twice about staying here, it really is a home from home.

A lovely stay
From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family. Everyone was so friendly and the room was lovely. We ate in every night as the food was so yummy and very reasonably priced too. We’d definitely return and not so far from the skiing at Glenshee either. All in all a fab friendly hotel, thank you so much for looking after us.

Easter ski break at Kirkmichael
Small family friendly hotel only 30mins from Glenshee ski slopes. Room ideal for family. Food choice limited but tasty and not too expensive.
